I was hoping to have a lovely meal with my family here on our last day in Lisbon. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant, and the décor was beautiful. I gave one star for the service as the staff seemed polite and fine. But the main thing — the food was not up to the standard. I ordered roasted cod with potatoes and turnip greens, expecting it to be delicious and a bit on the healthier side. When it arrived, the entire dish was drenched in oil — the greens and potatoes were literally floating in it. The fish was very salty and chewy, which made it seem overcooked. My son ordered cod with mashed potatoes and homemade pickles, and my husband had fried cod with fried potatoes and onions. In both dishes, the fish was again very chewy, and the flavours were not particularly enjoyable.

Extremely friendly staff. In particular our server, Carlos, made the dining experience very pleasant. The food was great and the two orders we asked was more than enough for four people.

We've been there a few times and the food in general has been good. This time the cod fritters were cold. We like to sit in the room with mirrors because it's cozier, but we don't always get a seat, which is a shame since the other room isn't very pleasant.

The waiter who served us, when bringing a bottle of wine with a decanter, which we noticed had something moving inside it, did not change the decanter or apologize for what happened, a very inelegant attitude for a quality restaurant.

Food was amazing, environment was really nice. It’s one of my favorite spots in Lisbon. Usual customer What I “didn’t like so much” this time , was the service. The team is new and some employees weren’t that aware of what going on. I believe it’s just little training needed But food is always amazing

I’m a regular customer of A Casa do Bacalhau for at least five years, and they never let me down with the service or the food. The cod is cooked to perfection and they have a wide selection of good wine.

We were at this Restaurant twice during our stay in Lisbon. The ambience is great, several wine options and excellent service. With regard to the food, our conclusion is that it depends on your taste and chosen dish. The bacalhau com natas was the best, but the empada de bacalhau was not up to my husband’s taste. A great experience nevertheless

Everything was perfect. The waiter gave great advice on the dishes and we were positively surprised. The bacalhau com natas was my favorite. We even tried some desserts and they were equally delicious. It is outside the tourist area but definitely worth the drive

We had a great meal at A Casa do Bacalhau—very good food, especially if you're a fan of traditional Portuguese cod preparations. The menu is thoughtful and well-executed, and the quality is clear. That said, there's not much else in the immediate area, so you're coming specifically for the restaurant. It's also on the pricier side overall. We visited with three kids, and while the staff was welcoming, the experience was a bit more challenging since there weren’t any obvious kid-friendly options on the menu. If you're looking for a well-prepared cod-focused meal and don't mind the location or price, it's definitely worth the trip. Just know what you're signing up for.

I spend my days between Puerto Rico, Miami and Alicante, ES. But can’t wait for the days I visit Lisbon to see my niece and also Casa do Bacalhau. If not the best for this specialty, I haven’t visited the one that may be similar but never better. In Lisbon…. My preferred spot for a nice dinner.

I decided to visit because it had received high ratings on various websites. Although it was located in a modest area a bit away from the city center, I was surprised by how incredibly stylish the restaurant was. The staff kindly made recommendations, so I was able to order smoothly from appetizers to the main course and dessert. The bacalhau pâté served as a couvert and the gratin for the main dish were both exceptionally delicious. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
