The whole experience is about the food, as it should be. The rest is down to basics, clean space, simple menu, limited types of drinks. Very enjoyable, as if you are dropping unannounced for supper at your relatives’ home.

Paulinha herself greeted us at the door with a great big smile as we entered her lovely yet unassuming restaurant. We had just arrived in Lisbon from California after being awake for 36 hours. We ordered 3 different croquettes and shrimp in garlic as starters and curry shrimp and bacalao a bras as our main dishes. The food was positively wonderful from start to finish (we took some back to our apartment which we ate happily later). Nothing posh but food that a foodie would love! The restaurant is tucked away in the Graca neighborhood but is worth the climb to enjoy.

Might be the best Portuguese food I've tried in Lisbon. The chef from Angola was a real master, and sooooooo kind everybody.

This place is a small hole in wall that must be reached by taking multiple stairs, but so so so worth it. Amazing food and amazing service. Ask the wonderful Roberto for recommendations of what to get if one is unfamiliar with Portuguese cuisine!

Found this little restaurant very last minute but we were really happy with the food. Authentic homecooked Portuguese food with personal service, highly recommended.

It was just okay for me.The service was amazing, but the food wasn’t what I was expecting based on reviews. I’m pretty sure the veggies in my dish were frozen and the cod fish should have been a whole piece but instead it was shredded which isn’t how the dish is to come. The ventilation is also very poor. My clothes still smell from being there. The prices are good. All this said, you should try it out (perhaps your dish will be better than what I had) and support a female owned business and chef.

The food is great! Not gourmet food, rather excellent typical home food. By the way almost everything is cooked on the spot, so better not be in a hurry. Waiter was friendly and effective. Towards the end of the meal, the cook ("Paulinha") came by to find out if we had enjoyed the meal. It is a small restaurant sitting 25 persons max. Ventilation could be improved as there are some odours -- agreeable, but nevertheless unwelcome-- coming out of the kitchen.

Our party of 3 came here last night for dinner. The restaurant itself is very cozy; there were maybe 5 tables inside the restaurant (not sure if there was more seating outside). While our server didn't speak English fluently, we didn't have an issue with ordering since the menu was translated. She was very friendly and attentive though! For food, We started with the calamares, which had a crispy, salty batter that paired well with the tender squid. We also ordered the bacalhau à brás (comes with a side salad), francesinha (with fries), and the bife da vazia c/ batata doce. - Bacalhau à brás was well seasoned and hearty, mixed with plenty of cod so its flavor didn't get lost in the potatoes. - I've only had francesinha once before, but this was by far my favorite. The rich, slightly spicy sauce accompanied the meat-filled, cheese and egg covered sandwich wonderfully. - Bife da vazia c/ batata doce was okay! The sirloin was on the chewier side, but the sweet potato fries were salted and crispy. For dessert, we ordered mouse de oreo, cheesecake frutos vermelhos, and the crumble de maçã. - The mousse's flavor was what we expected (oreo-y and sweet!), but the texture was denser than what we were used to. - The cheesecake had a layer of soft crumble at the bottom, a creamy and light (actually more mousse-like) cheesecake, and a sweet, berry compote on the top. This was my favorite! - The crumble de maçã was great as well - the topping of ice cream complemented the tartness from the apples. Overall, it was a wonderful experience - we will definitely visit again!

What a great little place. It’s only been open for 1.5 months. The family is fantastic. Food is great. It’s actually the best food we’ve had in Portugal. We highly recommend you make your way to this hideaway spot.

This little restaraunt tucked away in old Lisboa was a great discovery. It is family owned and perfectly run. The salads are amazing. Make sure you try the honey mustard and lime dressing.. They have a home made hot sauce that is amazing. The shrimp, clams and rice was delicious and don't forget dessert. They also have have a fixed priced multi course meal. We chose to pick individual items. They have a nice selection of reasonably priced wines as well. Just park on the street, go to a pay station and drop in €1.50 for about 80 minutes. Enjoy.
