It is simply an incredible place. It represents extremely well the atmosphere and vibe of the noble, intellectual, white émigré Russia without tacky and extravagant cliches in decor and dishes. The live music was not mainstream either, but subtle, old-school and not soviet and as a result added a generous dollop of authenticity to the general ambience.

The restaurant was complety overbooked on the evening of the Russian Orthodox Christmas with a lot more tables than usual. Moreover, the music was too loud and we could not discuss at the table. There was practically no space for musicians to perform and so they were standing too close to guests to play and sing which was really uncomfortable. And finally a large and loud group of 20 people just in the center of the restaurant. Disappointed by the experience..

Nice Russian vibe, good food, but staff forgot to bring items four separate times and were glacially slow (waited 30 minutes for someone to ask for drink order). Perhaps it was a quiet lunch day? In any case, recommend delivery or take out.

Simple classics of Russian traditional food, we had borsch and pelmeni. The presentation is simple, food is good. The black Borodino bread was delicious. We came on Saturday, so there was live guitar music we had enjoyed. Deserts were good, but not excellent, however the ambiance and service was pleasant. On hot days the menu is missing classical summer menu: okroshka, svekolnik that we were expecting to find. I recommend this place for the first try, fair quality and service, as well as atmosphere - slightly nostalgic.
