2/10Worst restaurant experience in 2 week trip through half of Italy. We paid the biggest check and got the worst food here. It was literally barely eatable. The only tasty thing was coffee. Bread was also ok. But everything they cook is awful. We ordered octopus and got it roasted to ashes. The asparagus looked like someone has already eaten it. And the service was as bad. I cannot understand how cooking gnocchi can take 50 minutes, but we waited that much. And they managed to make them watery and tastless. And another 20 minutes for desserts (which they evidently don't cook). Never come to this place!

10/10Fantastic little restaurant. Needing to be gluten free can be a challenge in the land of great bread, pasta and pizza but this restaurant delivered. We went twice in six nights, I felt really comfortable that my dietary needs were being catered for plus had a good selection of dishes to choose from. We had an aubergine starter, cod for the main and the most delicious cheesecake for desert first time. Second time we had the aubergine and salt cod with Tropea onions to start, GF pizza and vegetarian “pie”, which was more of a flan, for mains and the cheesecake and tartufo for desert. Both times we had a local, 6km away wine of the sea., this went down great. Good value for money, not the cheapest but you certainly get what you pay for. Wait staff were helpful, cheerful and chatty. Can’t recommend more highly coeliac or not - do not miss this little gem if you are in Viareggio.

10/10A top notch eatery owned and operated by a lovely young couple. Massimo is a true artist in the kitchen and his wife a lively and lovely hostess. All the pizzas are great but do not miss the polpo and the eggplant. Holy smokes! Amazing

8.5/10We had pizza’s. Which were a bit different but great of taste. The service was very good with a personal touch. Not a must, when Viareggio, but for sure a nice place to have dinner.

9.5/10We each had a pasta dish (calamatura) with fresh shrimp and chickpea cream that was delicious, followed by grilled pecorino and fresh vegetables which we shared, also very good. Service was friendly and professional, deserving of a nice tip. House Chardonnay at 2€ a glass. Total tab for two < 40€! We will certainly return!

10/10Greqt service very warm and welcoming. Food was fantastic. Very fresh and qauilty. For the price you get a good meal and tasty. Would reccomend to anyone looking for good italian cooking at a good price. Best meal in the area. Thank you

10/10Fantastic service, the staff spoke excellent English which really helped non speaking Italians like us. The restaurants interior is wonderful and welcoming and most importantly the food is excellent. The fresh dough balls are to die for !!!! Thanks to all the team x

10/10I've eaten in some of the best known and respected restaurants and this should be placed up there with, if not above them. I've never eaten a more exquisite meal in my life, served by the owner who obviously took great pride in her year old restaurant. It would be worth a flight alone to come eat here. I cannot recommend highly enough. And on my five day visit to Viareggio having tried some highly recommended restaurants, and those that are 'rated' higher in trip advisor and other online ratings, none come close to this. A'mare should be rated #1 of all restaurants in Viareggio! Incase of interest, I had the octopus to start, followed by squid with vegetables and then the taster of deserts. Plus the most delicious bio white wine recommended by the owner. Perfect!

9/10The food was delicious, fresh and well presented on the plate. Desserts were magnificent. The toilet was clean and well maintained. The service was nice. I received the promised 20% discount when booking via the fork.

10/10Lovely spot! Wonderful food and service. The pizza w burrata that my wife had was excellent. Crust seemed whole wheat but was perfect in crunch, chewiness, and flavor.

7/10Aside from pizzas, quite a short menu - but with some good options for vegans & vegetarians. Prawn antipasto was excellent, but sesame-crusted fish came with exactly the same veg garnish as the starter rather than what had been listed on the menu. The fish soup was tasty, but the croutons it came with were disappointing. We found the front dining room was very hot and asked to be moved to the back - although this gave us a partial view of the bins in one direction, or the servery area in the other; some screening would be a good idea. Overall, fair - but needs more attention to the overall customer experience.
