Amazing food! And great (English speaking) service, would recommend!

The food was fine , I would not go back and I think overrated. One big issue is that it was freezing cold inside. I have no idea why a restaurant would open for dinner service and not have the heaters going ahead of time. Making a warm inviting location for clientele. Everybody is in there wearing coats and the plates got cold quickly. It seems so simple. In addition to paying five euros for a Coke zero seems excessive a little greedy. Just my constructive feedback

There were not many options for those who do not eat meat, plus in January, it was rather cold inside.

A beautiful setting for this lovely restaurant. The waitress was very kind to speak some English. It was busy and she worked efficiently. The food and wine, fabulous.

Warm welcome. Carefully prepared food.

The main entrance and interiors (including terrace) were charming and enticing. However the ambience was disappointing; music would have helped especially when there are few customers. The waitress didn’t seem to appreciate that there was very quiet playing music inside but nothing on the terrace. The entree and our starters (veal tartare and partridge) were tasty. The white wine we chose lovely and properly chilled. Sadly, the crumbed fried fish was over done. The baked cod was tasty however the presentation on the large bed could have been a bit more aesthetic pleasing. Tomato rice was tasty. The restaurant is trying hard and should be commended but didn’t quite hit the mark for us.

Was seated in a rustic dining with a view of citrus trees and the countryside. The daily menu was an amazing deal, all in for 15€. A twist on Tremoço bean marinade, wine was nice and dessert delicious too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very cozy please. Have a good wine selection. Food all is also good if you want to have a different taste of the same Portuguese cuisine. I like it.

One of best Portugal dinner experiences (most of our dinners have been great). Staff made good small and large plate and wine recommendations. If we stayed longer in Abrantes, would go back. Only disappointment, we too cold to dine on porch for dinner because great views from the hill top porch. Make reservations because small dining area.

A truly hidden gem in the Portuguese country side. A Vehla brings traditional dishes to life with a slightly modern take. The veal cheeks are straight from heaven!!! We tried so many different dishes and wines over the course of nearly 4 hours and in the end we had desert and a port from Madeira that was divine! I can't recommend A Velha enough, I'm tempted to fly back to Portugal just to eat here again.

The restaurant is an old house that has been refurbished, very nicely done, maintained some of the old house charm with new. Only suggestion may be to add some table clothes or textiles to add some comfort in the winter months. The food was good, the pernil was excellent and the ovos rotos too but we ordered some crocetes which unfortunately were still frozen on the inside. We received an apology but no offer to remove from bill or provide new ones. Overall good but one simple gesture could have made the difference to deciding if we return.

Just average food. Good service. Had pork leg and bochechas. Very plain tables without cloths or even paper. Nothing special except the price.

Delighted to have found this wonderful restaurant on a last minute trip to Abrantes. Food was excellent, Portuguese recipes elevated, and with a good choice: great service in a lovely location. Outside is a terrace with stunning views, while inside is a contemporary take on a traditional Portuguese interior. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Welcoming, polite, kind, but still needs some adjustments regarding, the service from the kitchen to the client. The food could have been warmer. Its great spot, with a beautiful view. I recommend and will come back.

Nice service, good simple food, a small menu, and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. The view is really good only on one table inside the restaurant, the rest are closed by a wall.

Lovely restaurant with nice views and enthusiastic staff. Excellent food and service. Portuguese cuisine with a fresh twist and local ingredients. Must visit if you are relatively close by and recommended even from some distance.
