10/10We were recommended this place by a local as the best place to try the local fish soup, Bouillabaisse. It's a small family run place not on the main street, so you may not stumble across it unless it is recommended. The service is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere low key in a warm understated way. We could not have been made more welcome and were welcomed despite our very poor french!! The food was delicious and obviously made with love. Would highly recommend the experience.

6/10Cannelloni with seafood was good but the Bouillabaisse was honestly overpriced (40€) and only mediocre. I saw how they microwaved the seafood before serving and we were served box white wine. So if you'd like to eat good seafood don't order the Bouillabaisse and if you don't specify what type of wine you want they give you box wine.

4/10Sadly, we were very much looking forward to this meal. Instead, we got a bland soup with tough fish full of bones and scales, a piece tasted old, another was spongy, mussels that did not open, and a cockroach on our kid’s to go food. I am heartbroken.

We had an amazing lunch. We had the bouillabaisse, which was packed with delicious seafood. The service is great with the chef himself serving with the support of his lovely mum. Highly recommended

9/10Nice restaurant and a fine choice to be there. We enjoyed traditional local mediterranean food at a reasonable price. Warm people are running the restaurant. All dishes were exceptional.

5.5/10We booked Abaco based on the glowing recommendations on Trip Advisor and Google, but were left somewhat disppointed by our experience. On arrival there was only one other table occupied and it soon became clear that the restaurant was staffed by one welcoming gentleman who was greeting guests, serving the tables and doing the cooking. This in itself was not an issue, but it did make us wonder how popular this restaurant really is. We ordered "home made" smoked salmon and squid provencale to start. The salmon was good, but presentation was a little lacking, as it just looked like it was dumped straight out of a packet and served with a small pat of butter. The squid was tasty, but even as a big fan of garlic, I found it far too over-powering. For our mains we ordered the bouillabaisse, which we enjoyed, but the portions were so big that we probably could have shared one. To be honest, we were left a bit confused by Abaco, as it felt more like a "greasy spoon" cafe than a restaurant and while the food was acceptable, the decor was tired and the overall ambience was lacking. As with other restaurant experiences in Marseille, the online reviews didn't seem to match our real world experience.

10/10Too much hospitality and heartwarming delicious foods! :) We had a wonderful time there. There is like a meeting point for who live near there for a long time. I noticed they all love there and it’s for us as well.

This small unassuming family restaurant is a hidden gem for those who want to have an honest culinary experience without paying extra for location and frills. The chef, Jeannine, and her son Jacques, made us feel so so welcomed and offered us so much more hospitality than any menu or high brow place could compare to. Highly highly recommended!!!

The Bouillabaisse is really very delicious ^_^ It is so good that enjoyed a lot，and I think the portion of the dish it also plantiful~ PS: I happened to forgot my power bank in the restaurant … hoping next time I would be able to find it there again^_^

10/10It’s not often you get an insider’s tip on one of finest family-run restaurants in town! We were given the recommendation by a local young woman when we asked for the best boullebaise in Marseille. What a charming m, lovely and delicious meal we had. It’s chef is personable and masterful. And the restaurant is well established in a neighborhood where friends stop by and visit from table to table. It is one of our cherished meals from our trip to Marseille. We hope to one day return. Merci to our host and to Marine

9/10After clearing up that our online reservation was authentic, we had an amazing time! The server got us our drinks EXTREMELY quickly and our food was shorter than a normal wait, yet the food was definitely was made to order and delicious. Above all that, it was wildly affordable provided the quality and type of food offered. Would highly recommend coming here to any and all travelers to Marseille!

10/10If you enjoy perfection, this is the place to visit. Charming, small family run restaurant We were served by 3 generations, who genuinely wanted us to have the best experience. It's not flash or"buzzy" ,just excellent good quality food and wine, served with charm, by people who care..A very rare find.Worth tracking down. A 20 minute walk from town centre Bouillabaisse was perfect!

7.5/10We were the only customers because apparently several people canceled due to rain. Both of us had bouillabaisse, which we'd ordered in advance. Very generous servings, but the soup/broth was a bit bland. Still, we enjoyed the meal and left satisfied.

9/10This is a quiet unassuming restaurant in the back streets behind Plage des Catalans - we went originally because it was reviewed as having good bouillabaisse that was not too expensive. The bouillabaisse was good but the real stars were the rest of the menu - amazing ceviche and a shrimp risotto. The tiny team were super welcoming, and the chef pulled everything off single handed in the kitchen. Lovely way to spend our last night in Marseille!

8.5/10Excellent experience in this small familiar restaurant. The atmosphere is not the most modern ever but the food is well done, it has a familiar sound, like the french fries are real potatoes fried in a decent oil , non frozen. I am super happy about the choice!

6/10Very overpriced .if you think being away from vieux port may be less expensive forget it. €110 for bottle of wine and starters and main .calamari starter was excellent. Main described as seafood pasta was filo wrapped fish of indeterminate origin. Accepted there were language problems but surely pasta is a European word. I would not return. But the chef and waitress were great
