9/10We loved the ambiance of Acqualvuca! It was very relaxing on a warm afternoon. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our meal- though our enjoyment of the dishes were mixed. While all the dishes were good, we expected a bit more flavor in a few.

9.5/10Lovely ambiance, food was nice. We ordered the pepper steak ordered it medium rare however it was more medium than rare but was still very tasty. We had house wine which was nice but could have had it a bit colder. Would recommend

6.5/10The first impression of the place is the smell coming from the kitchen and soaking into your clothes and hair. In addition, we were seated next to the kitchen and to a fridge with disturbingly bright lights. Than communication with the waiter was minimal-digital menus, no presentation of the food, not even asking who is the meal for and just putting all plates on the table. The dishes I ordered were disappointing. Fortunately the other food (beef stakes and desserts) was good.

10/10Very nice place inside, with a cousy atmosphere. And super antipasti!! We shared 4 different antipasti’s and almost couldn’t eat our own main course afterwards. The staff were very kind and helped us with getting an English menu. I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

2/10The night was ruined when the server insisted on an under the table “cash only” tip. Avoid this place. Tried to insist that this was a compulsory practice. It’s likely waiters trying to take advantage of tourists who do not know better and make some extra tax free cash.

7/10Cute little place within the walls of the city. Waiter was not helpful or courteous. Told us to scan QR code for menu. Menu came up in Italian. Due to restaurant being inside stone walls, internet access was spotty and google couldn't translate to English. Their wifi was spotty. No paper menu. Waiter did not want to assist us in any way and would just walk away. He was very kind and courteous to Italian clients at next table. The waiter also demanded a tip. After 2 weeks in Italy, this was the first restaurant the waiter asked for a tip. Our evening and anniversary dinner was ruined.

4/10Not even close to being worthy of a Michelin star. The food was subpar, by even normal restaurant standards. The swordfish was bland, with no salt, no mint, and even the tomato tasted washed out. Their Acquavalvica risotto was underwhelming. Service was curt, unhelpful, and disorganized. The restaurant was ok on the inside, and the location was good. Do not recommend.

7/10Our experince was some disappointing: First course of mixed seafoods was good although a little bit too salty. Second course of beef fillet, which we ordered medium, was well done and dry. The carafe of restaurant wine was OK. We didn't order desserts.

8.5/10Nice experience and amazing food. Had a gran carpaccio and a fettuccine alle vongole. The gran carpaccio had an amazing salmon and gamberetti, tuna was the only one below expectations, but overall a nice experience. They use their own oil, which was also really good. If I need to make a couple of notes: a bit too much salt everywhere and 3 euro for the coperto (service) where there was not even a tablecloth is a bit too much. Definitely recommended for nice fish food at honest price.

8.5/10Very good food in a nice ambiance. But the over all rating is affected by the lack of menues. It is ok to have digital menues as an alternative, but it MUST be possible to read a menu without a smart phone. There was one dirty (no recently)printed menu, and no written wine list. The ordering took a long time due to this. The waiters showed bad attitude due this. How ever once we had ordered they were nicer and speedy. The menu situation felt like cheep chinese restaurant, were you order by numbers not the name of tve dishes. This is not worthy a Michelin recommended restaurant.

5/10No idea why this restaurant is in the micheline guide. It is not bad but food is very average, service ok.. Fresh but no taste and no concept. We walked 20 minutes to this restaurant and it is not worth it.

6.5/10This restaurant doesn’t deserve a Bib Gourmand prize. The quality and presentation of the dishes fall far short of this standard. The service is significantly improvable, with servers rushing through the meal.

3/10I arrived at 7.30, early for an 8pm reservation. I was told pretry brusquely that the restaurant didn’t open until 8pm. Fair enough, but there was no attempt to make me comfortable, maybe get a drink, show me a menu, or the QR code to look it up. It was very unwelcoming. Then when i was finally seated i was told to move as it was a table set for three to an identical table next door that just had fewer place settings. It took an age to order food and the lady who took my drinks order didn’t offer me any snack even though i told her i was very hungry. When the food arrived it was mediocre and the spaghetti in my lobster pasta was so undercooked i think i still have chunks of it glued to my mouth. I love al dente pasta. This was crudo. All the time the service was absentee and dismissive at best. It seems incredible to me that this place has a Michelin star.

8.5/10Very nice restaurant. Excellent cuisine and a large selection of wines at very affordable prices. On the other hand, the welcome is not up to par with the restaurant. We wanted to change tables, this was firmly refused on the pretext that it was reserved while a few minutes later people were seated there after discussions with the waiter. Then we waited more than an hour for our pasta dish while customers who came in after us had finished their dessert..... In short it seems that tourists are not as well received as the locals.

9/10+1I booked this restaurant the day before and loved it! Would definitely go back. The food was delicious and worth every penny. We tried so many different dishes that we have never tried before and were so pleased with everything. The only thing that we didn't like was there was a random buzzing noise throughout the entire dinner and it was pretty loud where we were sitting.

10/10After finding the restaurant through the Michelin guide we were so impressed with both the food and the decor. Just outside the main square it was near to all the sights but felt like you were off the beaten track. Staff were friendly and food was great. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Catania!

7.5/10Pros: magnificent carpaccio from seafood, esp. tuna and octopus. Main courses were good. Contras: a bit over detailed menu a la carte, no more oldfasion paper lists - only QR. Not quite well in looking after the guests needs Overall pretty much good.

5.5/10First of all launguage was a big problem. They dont have english menu, nevertheless english speaking personel. Cominication was difficult. Quality of food is good. Fresh ingridients. We eat octopus with kuskus and Messina style meat. Both of them was delisious. Our table was not stable. We told waiter. But he cant find solutions. We helped ourselves. Ordered moskow mule but it was something else. Taste was very different, also not served with its original copper glass. And finally we ordered Canole, it was also something diferent with gelato. As conclusion, we dont think they deserve micheline guide.

4/10Service absolutely shocking - felt like no one had worked in a restaurant before. Over an hour to receive a glass of wine which was then served in a dirty glass. Food was okay but did not out way awful service
