10/10A wonderful evening with delicious food served professionally in a manner as not to disturb the show. The fado performances were truly amazing. We had front row seats and saw the beauty of this traditional art form. A memory we will cherish!!

10/10We had such a lovely evening. The menu is a bit limited but is structured around the fado performances. We did not feel up to the taster menu so had the à la carte. i had the veal which was good and my husband had a trio of fish cakes olives and cheese also good. The food is quite expensive until you factor in the fado performance which was superb. The wine list is very reasonably priced. There is a different fado performance every 30 mins or so. You can stay until the end or leave whenever it suits. We loved it!

9.5/10This is a great place to have a pleasant meal and listen to Fado at the same time. The atmosphere is very authentic and the music of excellent quality. The food was very good too. Catering for vegetarians ok. One French speaking waiter was very friendly indeed. Another one who spoke no French was much less delicate. The price isn’t so high if you take the music into account.

9/10Went to "Fado in the box" and had a great time. The setting is intimate and the service was great. The musicians/singers do a really great job of both entertaining you and getting you involved (without being forceful).

10/10I had the best time ever tonight. The setting was intimate and the performers were incredible professionals that exuded talent. This was our first experience with Fado and they have set the bar high! The matre'd and staff were friendly, welcoming us with an appreciation befitting old friends, not mere patrons. We will be back!!

5.5/10Excellent location, warm welcome, we were up to a great evening. Unfortunately two out of three main courses were very disappointing and my wife and daughter didn’t enjoy their meal. We told the owner who was embarrassed and took action: we were offered dessert and port. Still we didn’t feel like staying for the whole fado performance.

9/10Got Fado in the box, was absolutely amazing! Did full Fado experience last year in a different Fado house, nothing compared to Adega Machado! I am back to Lisbon next year and will make sure to go for full Fado experience in this house! If you folks looking for Fado experience, this house is a must in your Lisbon route! Enjoy and cry away :)

8/10We attended a Fado In The Box event, which was excellent. Performers, venue, staff were top-notch. The wine and appetizers served were very nice. We recommend this special experience. (Since we didn't have a complete meal, we don't feel competent to comment on other menu items. However, the quality of the wine/appetizers served at the Fado In The Box = quite good.)

10/10Amazing food and Fado experience. I just mentioned at reservation that it's going to be our wedding anniversary dinner, and at the end of the Fado show they congratulated us with singers (it was surprising and really pleasant). Great thanks to restaurant team. Be aware that serving meals will take some time and it's definitely better to start dinner before show (so at the actual singing you will be enjoying dessert and wine). Price maybe on a higher side but for such type of Authors cuisine is expected.

10/10I highly recommend this place! We had just arrived in Lisbon, were very tired but decided on the last minute not to cancel our reservation and it was the best decision. The food was excellent, we tried the tasting menu and although the portions seem small it's a five course menu. The people there are fantastic, super nice, always smiling and ready to help you. And then there's fado... the passion of the singers will bring you to tears. It's worth the money in my opinion.

10/10Fado experience was sublime. The food was ok as well. But we visited for fado, not food. The fado guitar player was excellent, both singers were very good.

10/10Food and fado superb. Only downside is some terrible customers, singers had to yell at one loud group to be quiet. Not sure why manager did not assist unless having singers control audience is part of the show.

6.5/10Incredibly overpriced at 80 USD for 3 people to have wine, olives, cheese, and meat. 1 individual in our party was 9 years old and was still 17 USD.

8.5/10This place is a nice way to have a “pocket show” of Fado or in case you have children in your party, this is a good choice as well. Tapas are good and the wine correct. If you do not have a lot of time or do not want to squeeze in a Fado tradicional place, this is a nice choice. I only felt a little embarrassed as the artists were selling CDs at the end of the show at the table. Be prepared.

10/10If you like Fado, and don't want to pay too much, or do not want to eat lousy food (as done places serve...), this is an excellent combination. A short (1H) Fado concert, with a glass of wine and a bit of finger food.

10/10A great opportunity to see the Special Fado in a more casual , compact version as we had little time! Superb singers and musicians. Little tapas and wine where supperb ! Not to be missed!

5/10Shocking service. After 20 min we had to ask for menus, then ask for wine list, then ask to order, then ask for the wine to be served! No plates cleared, as our mains arrived! The fado singers were stunning though. A total miss

9/10A very nice experience. Some reviewers have commented on the short music sets, but those are necessary to give the waiters a chance to serve dishes, take new orders and cash out diners. There is no rush. You can stay all night.

10/10The food and Fado was fantastic. Such a delightful evening. We had a great time being entertained with traditional music as we enjoyed local cuisines.
