Lovely restaurant and friendly service

The food was so delicious and the service was outstanding. Loved it!

Overall, we were disappointed with the meal. The highlight was the potato moose. The red wine reduction on the beef fillet tasted of nothing but vinegar, looked amazing, but lacked any other flavor. Asparagus was over cooked. Service was average, water spilt everywhere, not even food in the mouth and the waitress was asking how the meal is! A very dated setting, not to our taste.

The food, wine and service were excellent! Thank you for looking after us so well doing our brief visit to Venice - we are so happy that it did not disappoint. We will definitely visit again!

The service was very professional and friendly. The setting (outside) is also very pretty - at the end of a small bridge. The food was acceptable but really nothing too special. Inside, we found the restaurant to be a little dated and dark. Also, unfortunately there was a musty smell throughout.

One of the best restaurants in Venice! Consistently delightful. Lovely service, beautiful food, excellent wines and a beautiful atmosphere, enjoy!

Aspirational restaurant in a great location. Welcome and service very warm efficient, big wine list but expensive by Italian standards (bottle of Amerone was nearly 4x UK retail price) food was good but a couple of plates didnt quite hit the heights they were aiming for

What a quaint little restaurant with such an atmosphere from both inside and outside. The staff was so kind and helpful and the food was impeccably delicious!

Ai Gondolieri is consistently one of the best restaurants in Venice. Attentive and welcoming service, excellent food, attractive interior, and great wine list. I’ve been going for years and am always delighted to dine there.

Located in a very charming spot, Great food! Perfect wine! The Chef’s risotto was simply amazing. A little on the expensive side but at the end of the day it is definitely worth the visit! Would do it again for sure!

Too expensive regarding the quality of food served.

This intimate Venetian gem delivers a dining experience of exceptional skill and subtle innovation. Each dish balances classic Italian tradition with thoughtful, modern reinterpretation: risottos, pastas, and meats are executed with precision, depth of flavor, and effortless elegance. Presentation is refined yet unpretentious, and even the most challenging requests are handled flawlessly, reflecting the chef’s mastery and respect for ingredients. The atmosphere is quietly sophisticated, just removed enough from the city center to feel discovered, and service is impeccable — attentive, professional, and seamless. This restaurant embodies artistry, precision, and culinary confidence; a truly remarkable experience that elevates Venice’s gastronomic landscape and deserves recognition at the highest level.

Food was excellent! Beef tartare was one of the best we’ve ever had.

Lovely little restaurant at the end of a beautiful canal. Quiet spot with very friendly service and a lovely meal. Perhaps a little overpriced really but the meals were good. It was very quiet when we visited which was lovely but perhaps detracted from the ambience - I quite like a bustling happy dining room

We returned after 9 years for a resplendent evening of fab wine and liver and onions. The best place in the world for Liver and onions without a doubt. Add onto that the rest of the remarkable food and wine and I can assure you of an amazing evening.

The service and food were amazing. The filet steam with Borolo sauce was the best I've ever had, and the wine pairings were fantastic. Great small and intimate restaurant!

Must go to this place. Best food in Venice, best service.

Not good with allergies; told the server I was allergic to nuts and was served pistachio. Server was unable to accommodate a special request, had to ask him to speak to the chef about it before he actually agreed to accommodate.

Good traditional Venetian food in an original setting with outstanding service. High class with a very comprehensive and excellent wine list.

I am surprised that this restaurant is included in the Michelin guide. All dishes I have ordered, were far from a desired quality and taste. White asparagus was overcooked and watery (28 euro), cannelloni with ricotta cheese tasted like cannelloni with white flower sauce, also overcooked (26 euro). I mentioned it to the staff but it looked like they didn’t care much. I didn’t dare to taste a desert… I have never spent my 100 euro in such a disappointing way.

Great prix fixe lunch, seven courses, €90. The high point was the potato mousse with a couple of tiny meatballs in tomato sauce on the bottom, but the asparagus risotto was excellent, as was the veal. Wine list is a bit limited, but solid. Service was outstanding, waiter has great English, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Little or no seafood.

This was our best dining experience in Venice with our group of 6 people. The ambiance feels old school but still updated. The food, well…fantastic but not too fussy. The service…so professional but still warm. With all of the touristy restaurants, this one is not that….its actually “just right”!

Really friendly staff. Great food. Nice ambience. Italians eat there not just tourists.
4.5
1) food was somewhat adequate for the price. Not the best we had in Venice but still OK. 2) they charged us 20 € for a pasta (not homemade) with butter for a small kid 3) they basically charged us twice for the service: 5€ per person for the "coperto" PLUS a 10% on the total price as "service".

Impeccable service, perfect wine and amazing food. You can’t ask for more than that. I also noticed how the servers worked together to make the experience seamless. Grazie to the chefs and servers! It was a delightful experience that we will always remember.

Great team, real professionalism is animated by the staff and we can feel a passionate chef in the kitchen.

+1Ai Gondolieri is a gem in Venezia! Perfectly located, it offers an elegant and cozy ambiance. Our meal was exceptional—every dish was crafted with care and bursting with flavor. The seasonal ingredients and traditional Venetian recipes were masterfully executed. Service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, making us feel truly special. It was by far our best dining experience in Venice. Highly recommend for anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary journey.

A very pleasant restaurant, execellent cuisine and friendly staff. A good recommendation.

Everything was good.

The services and the food were unmatched. We came to Venice for a week and happened to discover Ai Gondolieri randomly, and ended up coming back two more times before we left (one of the meals was the Christmas tasting menu). Cannot recommend this place enough. They are well on their way to a Michelin Star.

The perfect place for dinner, when we are in Venice, we always go for a Venetian liver or canelloni, which are amazingly delicious, the best in town and service is always so kind and professional. We love the place.

We opted for the Tasting Menu with wine pairing. Food and service were excellent. We really enjoyed. This was our second trip to Venice as well as our second visit to this restaurant. We will be sure to visit whenever we are in town!

I have been going here since 2005 and it never disappoints ❤️

When we arrived at the restaurant we discovered a table set for a very large group (well over 20) behind us. In a small room it meant that as soon as they arrived we couldn’t hear each other talk. The restaurant hadn’t warned us when we confirmed the booking and couldn’t move us because they had no other table. We were seated by the pass door as well which wasn’t great especially as one member of staff kicked it open instead of pushing it open. The noise meant we abandoned all thought of either the tasting menu or our usual lovely relaxed holiday meal. We ordered starters to share, a bowl of pasta, and a bottle of wine. The food was very good but the restaurant is expensive so it wasn’t a great evening for circa £250. When we left at 9pm there were tables free in the other room. If they had offered to move us in there for pudding/coffee it would have changed our evening. We won’t go back; the place is too small to cope with a group that size and other bookings.
