+1Ai Gondolieri is a gem in Venezia! Perfectly located, it offers an elegant and cozy ambiance. Our meal was exceptional—every dish was crafted with care and bursting with flavor. The seasonal ingredients and traditional Venetian recipes were masterfully executed. Service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, making us feel truly special. It was by far our best dining experience in Venice. Highly recommend for anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary journey.

We came to Venice for a week and happened to discover Ai Gondolieri randomly, and ended up coming back two more times before we left (one of the meals was the Christmas tasting menu). Cannot recommend this place enough. They are well on their way to a Michelin Star.

10/10We opted for the Tasting Menu with wine pairing. Food and service were excellent. We really enjoyed. This was our second trip to Venice as well as our second visit to this restaurant. We will be sure to visit whenever we are in town!

6/10When we arrived at the restaurant we discovered a table set for a very large group (well over 20) behind us. In a small room it meant that as soon as they arrived we couldn’t hear each other talk. The restaurant hadn’t warned us when we confirmed the booking and couldn’t move us because they had no other table. We were seated by the pass door as well which wasn’t great especially as one member of staff kicked it open instead of pushing it open. The noise meant we abandoned all thought of either the tasting menu or our usual lovely relaxed holiday meal. We ordered starters to share, a bowl of pasta, and a bottle of wine. The food was very good but the restaurant is expensive so it wasn’t a great evening for circa £250. When we left at 9pm there were tables free in the other room. If they had offered to move us in there for pudding/coffee it would have changed our evening. We won’t go back; the place is too small to cope with a group that size and other bookings.

10/10We had an amazing experience at Ai Gondolieri, from ambiance to service to our meal and final cocktails. It was around the corner from our Airbnb and was not only convenient but a wonderful gem! We also loved all the local students congregating our front by the local pub on the steps - it made the experience feel even more authentic. Also, if you happen to be there during white truffle season don’t miss the risotto! Thanks for everything, Ai Gondolieri! Can’t wait to be back next year.

10/10My husband and I chose this restaurant after researching reviews we found online and was situated in the beautiful and quiet area of Dorsoduro, and conveniently was a five minute walk to our hotel to our hotel on The Grand Canal. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and were greeted with congratulations and a complimentary glass of fizz🥂 We had the tasting menu which was delicious, we did not choose the wine pairing as we are ignorantly red wine lovers 🍷🍷… being a Michelin starred restaurant I would have expected it to have been more expensive, but was actually very reasonable, even the wine list was not overly priced. Also I have a food allergy and the menu had a full description on the back cover to allay any fears. To top it all off the ambience was gorgeous, with Billie Holliday quietly singing away in the background ! Thank you for an amazing evening 🙏

10/10We chose the tasting menu with matching wines. The fried zucchini flowers were slightly disappointing, rather too much batter, but the other courses more than made up for it and the wines, particularly the reds, were very well chosen. Good value.

7/10Food was very good and delicious. Ambiente: in a room with only 5 tables in a row, tiny room, stiff atmosphere. Service was friendly, but not as perfect as could be expected from a restaurant with such high prices! And in the end there was 10% tipp on the bill, calculated even on the coperto! The most expensive dinner of our holidays.

6/10The little restaurant had a good atmosphere, and we we’re met by a friendly staff. The food was not as we had expected. Non of the dishes was exceptional. Only one small glass of wine for the first 5 disches, but all the wine tasted fantastic.

6/10There were six of us (three couples) and we spent three days on holiday in Venice. The dinner at Ai Gondeleri was the most disappointing of the three dinners and cost about 25% more than the others. The food was less tasty, the pasta dishes being particularly poor; two of us had white truffle as an extra as it was in season, but even this did not compare well with truffle dishes we had had at London Restaurants. The staff tried hard to provide good service but almost too hard so it verged on obsequious. Overall we came away unimpressed.

6/10This restaurant is written up as a reliable, classic Venetian spot, right by the Academia and the Peggy Guggenheim museum, where they also handle the catering. Sadly, the place was a big disappointment. Overpriced, mediocre food, left a literal bad taste. Both the menu and the decor could stand to be refreshed, if they wish to remain a relevant destination. What could be a cozy and intimate spot is instead a tired, overly-lit wooden panel room with a cafeteria atmosphere. If that weren’t enough, the classic rock music station playing really killed the advertised authentic vibe. They’d do well to either modernize or lean into their old-fashioned roots because what they’re doing now just isn’t working. Such a shame that one of the most expensive meals of our trip was definitely one of the worst. I believe they can do better, and hope they will. Meanwhile, stick I’ll with the Cichetti bars…

9.5/10This restaurant was a great find. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and professional. We definitely enjoyed the experience as food at this level is difficult to find anywhere. We will definitely go back!
