We absolutely love this restaurant! The food was amazing—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. A special shoutout to Michael, whose service was truly remarkable. He was attentive, friendly, and made our whole experience even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Wonderful experience! Authentic delicious food and excellent service. Mike was our server and he made sure that we were truly taken care of. Their tiramisu was heaven!

Nicely welcomed into the restaurant. We had a nice waiter named Michael. The restaurant was very nice but there was no music, which i feel always should be on in a restaurant. The food was delicious and nice portion.

This was a great surprise for us. The pizza was very good and we almost ate the 2 pizzas that we ordered. The service was excellent. We tried our best at speaking Italian to the waitress. I think she knew we were making a good faith effort. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Very nice and cozy place, with very good food at an affordable price. To highlight the outstanding empathy of the staff, including Michael.

Our night at Al Giardino del Gatto e la Volpe was very pleasant. The name alludes to the Pinocchio story, with paintings and tiles of the same theme. You know you’re at the right spot when the locals fill up the place. The ambient was great: you dine at a big outside patio with a foldable canopy, which is half open letting the cool evening breeze in. We tried risotto with crayfish, tonnarelli cacio e pepe, gnocchi and ravioli, the taste was homely and you feel the fresh homemade pasta right away. The rations were very generous. The Roman trippa was nice too, with more taste of cheese from its Florentine counterpart. Michele’s service was impeccable, guiding us through a relaxed dining experience.

We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and our server Michael was more than helpful. Well worth a visit.

Lovely staff and restaurant, the menu is very varied. I would have liked to have found this restaurant before our last night to try different dishes. The Capriciosa pizza was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. A definite recommendation!

+4This felt like a local gem vs. a tourist spot. The staff didn’t speak a ton of English, but that made it feel more authentic, lol. They were so friendly and accommodating to me and my family doing their best to explain everything and make recommendations towards local favorites and traditions. Everything was amazing and we would come back again if given the opportunity.

The food is very good and the place is calm and friendly. But the best of all was Mr. Mauro, that served our table and gave wonderful recomendations. Besides, he was very supportive because we don't speak italian and he helped us a lot in english.

We came here on our final night after 10 days in Rome because the 12 year old daughter of our friend in the states read a book and this restaurant was mentioned in it- thought she’d appreciate a picture. It ended up being the best food we had the entire time we were here and wished we had come earlier! Our family iof 6 had carbonara, ravioli, pizza and meatballs between us and all of us decided it was the best we’d had. Tried sone Supli as a starter and also SO good. Prices are very reasonable. Our server Michael was delightful, and the restaurant is sweet, comfortable and welcoming. Also nice to get out of the crazed tourist area and into the more subdued Prati neighborhood. If we are ever so lucky to be back to Rome, we will be making our way here again. Highly recommend!

The food was incredible, especially the homemade pasta specials (I had muscles with tagliatelle). The garden is a cute atmosphere as well. Note they do not open for dinner until 7:30pm! We walked by at 7:20pm and thought it was closed at first! But once greeted, the service was excellent as well.

The food, service and ambiance were all excellent and exceeded our expectations. We sat in the garden which was lovely. The wine was delicious and the prosciutto and melon appetizer was also so tasty. Our server was attentive and nice, recommending dishes during our dinner. Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner to end our stay in Rome. We will be back!

A wonderfully relaxed eating experience, with amazing food and good service. The place was very busy, but the quality of the food was exceptional. Highly recommended for traditional Roman food.

The best place to eat italian away from the touristic places. Wayyyu cheaper comparing to city center restaurants

Classical Roman restaurant. Excellent food at very reasonable prices. Very friendly and helpful old-skool waiter. Plenty of locals come to eat there with their nonnos and nonnas.

This restaurant is an amazing find and recommendation. If you want to get authentical roman food in an Italian environment, you should come here! The food and service (Shout out to Mauro for giving us a top service) was great.

This restaurant was a great find. We were looking for something authentic, away from the touristy areas, with great food at good prices. We definitely found it at Al Giardino. Excellent service, casual but elegant atmosphere, and savory dishes at hard to beat prices in the area. Highly recommend the tiramisu and panna cotta (caramel was deliciously sweet) after the meal. All around great dining experience during our stay in Rome.

Scrumptious food, authentic Italian ambience. Our waitress was a treasure, between our limited Italian, her English and Google translate we managed to get along!
8.5
I was there with my sons, we had a really nice evening with good food and traditional roman dishes that you do not often find...especially in those that pretend to be "typical roman" restaurants. However the price is 40€ each for the dinner (all included)

Love the big outdoor covered terrace! And the pasta was fabulous --- the special of the day with mussels, delicious! The service was most attentive. Will definitely be back.

Authentic Roman dishes and top notch service! Mauro provided excellent service and great recommendations for local dishes. The pasta is fresh and the seconds are portioned perfectly. Mauro was very thoughtful and deboned my wife's sea bass before serving to make it easier for her to eat. All of the food was delicious and we even were given limoncello on the house at the end of our meal. The outdoor patio is free of distractions from the streets and provided a cozy experience. I highly recommend any of the pasta dishes, the tiramisu, and everything Mauro recommends!
