6.5/10I found this restaurant with recommendation on The Fork. I am vegetarian and made special request in my reservation. There was a language barrier and not great options for vegetarian food. The staff was accommodating- they did provide us some vegetarian options but main dishes were not up to the mark. We did like the appetizer, dessert and the wine that waiter recommended. If you are looking for vegetarian specific options I’d consider other places.

9.5/10Food quality and presentation is excellent. Efficient service. We went for dinner at 8pm and not many diners at that time. Filled up and more lively around 10pm on a Friday.

10/10We had lunch in this restaurant on a. Saturday, which we were able to reserve the night before. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and is in a fantastic location in Milan, about a block from La Scala and the Duomo square. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the service is fantastic, very friendly and efficient and the staff seemed to anticipate your needs. The food and wine here is amazing! Absolutely delicious and priced fairly. We look forward to returning to this restaurant and can recommend it heartily.

9.5/10I really like this restaurant. It was recommended by a friend a long time ago and I always go there ( as I did at their old address) when I am in Milano. Excellent, easy going and simply a joy.

10/10The owner and staff made us feel both at home and special. The food was amazing and paired with excellent wine suggestions. I had been concerned that we wouldn't enjoy the inside as much as the al fresco experience, but it was wonderful.

10/10A wonderful New Year's eve dinner -- excellent service, excellent food. A 19:30 reservation turned into a 4-hour experience, Every detail was perfect; we really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommended, and we will definitely come again!

10/10I was so glad to have found this restaurant with a great ambiance & delicious food. We loved the risotto with shrimp & artichokes! Also the service, soft jazz in the background, and very nice wine list made for a perfect evening. I highly recommend Al Mercante.

10/10We were in Italy for 8 days, and this was BY FAR the best and most memorable meal we had. The food quality was excellent and surpassed only by the service! The portions were perfect and the wine selections was also extensive to fit all budgets. Highly recommended!!

7/10Beautifully presented restaurant with quasi fine dining of a high standard. Clearly a haven for the local Milanese so is a great place for the discerning tourist. Dress smartly as this place is elegant. Asparagus and prawn risotto a triumph. Tuna ravioli with ginger cream sauce and a tiny sprinkling of pistachio was delicious. Tiramisu as expected was excellent. Well worth a visit.

9.5/10We found our experience at this restaurant to be very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely outstanding. The 60 days matured steak was the best steak I have ever eaten. Other dishes were of an equally high standard. The wine list was extensive and the wine we eventually chose was a delight. On our next trip to Milan we will not fail to book here.

6.5/10I hv been eating in this restaurant for over 8 years. I rated it 5 ⭐️ in google in the past. It was my favourite restaurant in Milan, but it changed after moving in this new location in 2018, food portion became smaller, taste became more salty, and staff became not as friendly as before.

5.5/10Waiter friendly but overall service was kind of spotty. Par for the course in Milan. Seems like a place that’s living on its laurels. Great atmosphere but the food was mediocre at best. Bland to the point of boredom except for the octopus/shrimp in lemon sauce appetizer which showed great promise but wash so mushy I thought it was polenta - yuck!

4.5/10Food was quite good but ambiance of the restaurant ( inside) was really bad, no music, their kitchen was opened and we could hear all sounds from there, so it was really annoying, I wouldn't come back again
