It was a quiet Monday early evening in Milan. We enjoyed the first sitting at 6.30pm en route to Teatro alla Scalla. The service was attentive and very pleasant and the menu while short was very adequate. We enjoyed a sea bass for 2 in salt. And prior had some very good home made pasta. A little tip : when sea bass cooked in salt is ordered it is good to show the fish in advance of cooking and then after roasting cracking the salt pile off to reveal the steaming fish. It’s a small addition but helps with the experience ! All told the meal was very good.

Great spot for dinner. Food was delicious. Only suggestion would be to have more piedmont local wines available by the glass.

The Risotto here was the best I've had in Italy. All the dishes turned out well, and we had nothing to complain about. Portions seemed rather small by Italian standards. We had a table of 12 and the bill worked up to $1,350 Euros thereabouts. 2 bottles of Red Wine and 1 bottle of White wine which were around 80 Euros for the red and 50 Euros for the white. All were decent wine. The setting is definitely romantic with a quite cosy atmosphere, and not a rowdy place and surrounding area nice and quiet compared to the rest of Milan. So a good place for a respite from all the bustle around the Duomo

I recently dined at Al Mercante and had an outstanding experience. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented. The service was equally impressive—attentive, professional, and friendly. The ambience added to the charm, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and service makes it worth it. Highly recommended for those looking for a memorable dining experience in Milan.

Make sure you pay attention to whether you actually get a decent measure of a glass of wine as a dribble on top of wine already in your glass is not really €8! Seems pity to mention this as otherwise classy evening.

Lovely setting, close to the Duomo but in a quiet square. It was nice sitting outside on a balmy night. We had the Milanese veal cutler and it was delicious.

I found this restaurant with recommendation on The Fork. I am vegetarian and made special request in my reservation. There was a language barrier and not great options for vegetarian food. The staff was accommodating- they did provide us some vegetarian options but main dishes were not up to the mark. We did like the appetizer, dessert and the wine that waiter recommended. If you are looking for vegetarian specific options I’d consider other places.

Food quality and presentation is excellent. Efficient service. We went for dinner at 8pm and not many diners at that time. Filled up and more lively around 10pm on a Friday.

We had lunch in this restaurant on a. Saturday, which we were able to reserve the night before. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and is in a fantastic location in Milan, about a block from La Scala and the Duomo square. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the service is fantastic, very friendly and efficient and the staff seemed to anticipate your needs. The food and wine here is amazing! Absolutely delicious and priced fairly. We look forward to returning to this restaurant and can recommend it heartily.

I really like this restaurant. It was recommended by a friend a long time ago and I always go there ( as I did at their old address) when I am in Milano. Excellent, easy going and simply a joy.

The owner and staff made us feel both at home and special. The food was amazing and paired with excellent wine suggestions. I had been concerned that we wouldn't enjoy the inside as much as the al fresco experience, but it was wonderful.

I was so glad to have found this restaurant with a great ambiance & delicious food. We loved the risotto with shrimp & artichokes! Also the service, soft jazz in the background, and very nice wine list made for a perfect evening. I highly recommend Al Mercante.

Beautifully presented restaurant with quasi fine dining of a high standard. Clearly a haven for the local Milanese so is a great place for the discerning tourist. Dress smartly as this place is elegant. Asparagus and prawn risotto a triumph. Tuna ravioli with ginger cream sauce and a tiny sprinkling of pistachio was delicious. Tiramisu as expected was excellent. Well worth a visit.

Nice place to be with parthners or going out with family. A bit business, but friendly. Was there several times. Personel quiet a typical Italian, interior is sylish and well deсorated.

Delicious and vert fresh food, friendly and competent service and a great vibe in the old centre of Milan. I will certainly come back to this wonderful pearl.

Sirloin steak, veal, lasagna and tiramisu were perfect! Much better than expected. Good quality wine as well. Around 70-80eur pp. I would recommend it.

We found our experience at this restaurant to be very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely outstanding. The 60 days matured steak was the best steak I have ever eaten. Other dishes were of an equally high standard. The wine list was extensive and the wine we eventually chose was a delight. On our next trip to Milan we will not fail to book here.

Great food, great atmosphere. Loved the porcini mushrooms and the ravioloni.

Food good but my veal Milanese was a little dry. Server was rushed and wasn’t really helpful. Good setting and would try again. It was a Sunday night and we ate early.
