8/10Lovely setting, attentive service, extensive wine list and lots of creativity are the highlights of this dining experience. While the food is interesting some dishes miss the high bar the restaurant has set for itself in flavor and culinary combinations.

10/10This restaurant spent a lot of time making not only their food spectacular, but also making their service seem special and intimate . The flavors were very inventive and beautifully presented. Even the cutlery and dishes were artfully chosen to go with each dish. The chef and the staff should be very proud for making dinner at Al Quimia an unforgettable event.

10/10The setting and food were amazing. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. We had the water menu with the wine pairing lots of different flavours we hadn’t tasted before so good. Would definitely recommend it. If we had more time we would have gone back and tried the fire menu

10/10From start to finish staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. It’s always nice to see the chef at the table too. We chose the water menu along with the wine pairing and very little was a disappointment! The presentation and taste made each dish very enjoyable. The lobster and sea bass course were truly standouts. We particular liked the gin cocktail that paired with the lobster - it really worked and was unexpected ! The wine pairing- which was available in a mini and normal version was carefully selected and enthusiastically explained to us. All most enjoyable, particularly the Red with the Sea Bass & Moscatel. We can fully understand why this is a Michelin recommended restaurant- it doesn’t need much to earn its first star. We can thoroughly recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Overall my family and I had a wonderful experience at Al Quimia. Nice ambience and service and the food was really impressive! My only disappointment was the fact that the group of four had to choose the same menu (while two of them prefer meat they had to go along with fish menu) My suggestion is to mix in a menu meat and fish to accommodate everyone preferences! Other than that, was an outstanding experience!

7/10We visited for my birthday and had high hopes for a gastronomic experience but felt it didn’t live up to expectations. We had the Water tasting menu with the accompanying wine tasting. For a restaurant to be aiming for a Michelin star you really expect the ‘wow’ factor and your taste buds to truly be excited but certainly as far as my palate was concerned, the dishes missed the mark, which was a great pity as the setting and the staff were excellent. The Sommelier presented some truly excellent wines which complemented the food perfectly and engaged in explaining their origins with real interest. The waiting staff were very friendly and courteous and the presentation of each dish was a feast for the eyes. Taste is of course subjective but for me it didn’t work and I can’t help thinking the chef was trying too hard to be innovative in his creations.

Location is nice though we were overlooking a boring lawn, no water. We had a meat Menü-fire-and a vegetarian menue-Earth. The presentation of the dishes was nice but it was not tasty. It was just a mixture of everything but the taste was not there. Quite disappointing. The service was good but they did not try to make a conversation. Even sommelier only mentioned the wine region without any further comments. I would expect to have more details. I do not understand a high rating maybe there was a different Menü before. It was overpriced with no taste.

+4There is a girl from Brazil. Her name is Talita. She was absolutely amazing, kind and beautiful. It’s a hidden gem to have such a person in your staff. The restaurant was really flawless. It wort even couple of more Michelin stars. This restaurant was the best among those we visited during our 20 day voyage to Portugal. We visited couple of other Michelin restaurants, but this one was the ultimate. It’s such a rear thing to see a miraculous picture in your plate, which is also tasty as hell.

10/10Just a fantastic all round experience from start to finish! The staff could not be friendlier or more knowledgeable, the food was fantastic, the wine and sommelier were spectacular, the ambience was wonderful. We were so well looked after and had such a special evening. Cannot recommend highly enough. We hope to be back some day!

Incredible food and amazing service. The tasting menu was superb from start to finish with some truly incredible dishes. The service was some of the best we've ever had in a fine dining restaurant; really relaxed, warm and friendly but attentive, efficient and completely professional. If you're in the area and this is within your budget I would highly recommend going.

+8My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary and the food was amazing. We had the set tasting menu with wine pairings. Very unique tasty flavours with a story about the chef's experiences and local cuisine matched wonderfully with great local wines. I was impressed with how much you could taste the freshness, distinct flavours and how good the wines were. Certainly was fine dining, expensive yes, but for a special occasion we had a fantastic night. Staff were friendly, entertaining and helpful too. It felt like we were hosted at their home!
