I ate their twice and the food both times.was very good. The service at the first visit ( was solo) was not as good. However, the restaurant was extremely busy with 2 large groups of 8 or more customers. I was still not ignored, they did the best they could with all servers extremely busy.

Great service and gorgeous food. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely be back when I next return to Rome.

This restaurant was near our hotel, and the atmosphere and food were underwhelming, although the food was good. There's no house wine on the menu.

The attention from the waiter trying his best to explain the dishes and the quality of the seafood made my wife want to repeat the restaurant.

I loved the food: pizza, tiramisu.

This was our first trip to Rome and first dinner of the trip. Al Viminale met our expectations. We ate in the outside dining area, which is across the street from the restaurant. The staff were attentive and accommodating and we appreciated that they navigated the scooters and cars to bring our food to our table! The minestrone soup was amazing! The Greek salad, and grilled vegetables were both very good. The Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli Butter & Sage was excellent! A bit less delicious, due perhaps to the strong garlic flavor, was Fettucine with Porcini Mushrooms, Garlic and Cherry Tomatoes. The glass of red wine that I had with my dinner was divine. I wish I could remember what it was...

Food was average. Service was friendly even though I found the servers pushing us to order our food quickly. We found it strange that we were asked if we would leave a gratuity and when I answered yes, they wanted to know how much.....very odd

Service was amazing. Lots to choose from on the menu . The pizza was lovely but I had Gnocchi with tuna whic wasn’t very tasty and was violently sick after eating it then was fine again.

We were a group of 9 friends who had a lovely and lively evening with enjoyable food and good wine . Lots of laughter and good service from the staff. Can recommend the restaurant highly

The people were very nice. The staff was not well trained, the food (we ordered osso bucco and vongole) was uninteresting.

This is simply the best pasta we have ever had. We been in Rome for 5 days, and this was the best food we could find. One fork of the carbonara was like a taste explotion, bringing back multiple strong feelings of joy and happines. We will return one day❤️

Great food. Very attentive service. The carbonara was magnificent.

Al Viminale has the feel of a local Roman eatery. The menu is typically Roman, prices very reasonable, service is excellent. Very good wine choices and one of the best tiramisu! We are regular visitors to Rome and Al Viminale is always one of our dinner stops.

+1This little gem is a great additionto the neighborhood, We went back for a second dinner while staying at Monti Apartments. Just down the street, the owner knows how to match meals and vino. An excellent menu. And if you would like to try meat, the steaks are as delicious as the pastas. Not to mention the dessert which was so delicious, it was gone in 30 seconds 😋

This restaurant is amazing and we had the best dinner since we arrived. Ambiance, wait staff, food, wine, all so wonderful, including outdoor dining. Will recommend this to all!

Though the restaurant was a great find and the food was great. The only issue we had was the waiter made us felt like we had to leave a tip when from what we had read that tipping is not necessary.

Disappointing food. Avoid this place if possible. I’m not sure where previous reviewers ate but certainly not here. Pesto tasted like it came from a jar.

Excellent food. I was a little worried when we got there because it was all Americans. But the food was awesome and the service was amazing.

Positives: the staff is super friendly and speaks English well. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant was pretty quiet and the food was served rather quickly. Tiramisu was lovely. Cons: the food was okay, a bit bland, so salt was needed to enhance the flavor. The food was not bad, by any means, but was just not as good as I’ve had at other restaurants. We did enjoy the eggplant parmigiana, but the pasta dish I had was nothing to write home about and the sea bass was the same. I feel bad to leave a negative review but all other reviews were glowing, that I read, and the restaurant just did not live up to the hype.

Wonderful restaurant! The food was excellent, the service was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.

Very warm welcome and service was great throughout. Starters were superb - great quality buffalo mozzarella and ham. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came undoubtedly rare. The quality of the steak and the sauce was excellent though, and fortunately I am able to eat a rare steak. The mushrooms in the pasta dish were soggy. Pasta was excellent. Wanted crème caramel for dessert and (at 9pm) - they said they had run out. After reading reviews I was slightly disappointed but would definately give it another go.

We ran across this restaurant last year by happenstance. I had a brief chat with the owner, who was standing at the front door before opening. Another couple and us had an 18 day visit to Italy last year, and of the 18 fantastic dinners we had, dinner at Al Viminale was in our top three. We each order something different, sharing tastes of each dish all around, and everything was wonderful. We returned to Al Viminale again this year during a 26-day trip to Genoa, Venice, Florence, and Rome. Again, dinner at Al Viminale was in our top three of 26 dinners. Every aspect - - - the variety, the food, the service, the fair prices, that happy attitude of everyone there. This is a family-owned (Father/daughter) restaurant, and an experience not to be missed. (P.S. In fact, we went back again two nights later !)

Staff were lovely and welcoming. Nice atmosphere and tasty food. Thank you!

So many far superior restaurants in the area to enjoy dinner. The food quality ingredients did not taste fresh. Overpriced for the value. We spent 5 days in Rome and this was our least favorite meal. All 8 of us agreed.

If this is not the worst restaurant in Rome I would be shocked. I get better Italian food at Olive Garden. Seriously this place is not good.
