kind service in fixing a reservation mishap (wrong day); a bit less by interrupting our conversation to present the dishes (instead of waiting a moment). Food was good but not super, other than a couple of lovely mise en bouche. Ambience not very noteworthy (a disadorn former hay storage). Expensive but not surprise there, given the circumstances. recommendable if you visit the castle, but not sure it's worth the trip on its own.

Amazing place, we went there for our 10 year anniversary and the food and service was fantastic. One of the best restaurants we have been too!

It was a surprising culinary experience in a beautiful castle and also surprising paintings. A creative chef who likes tastful winks to classic culiniary treats. And a sommelier who was super dedicated to bring the best in your glass. Highly recommended.

Service impeccable. Professional and able to suffer fools with discrete limitations wine selections superb and it was a glistening sunny day in Alva which is a great gift in the middle of November

This is a special place and the restaurant is worth its place in it. Even though it was a rainy day, the experience was fulfilling all the way. The food was well done, creative, using the ingredients from the area. The wine pairing was ideal for the plates, and the staff was right on cue. We spent 3 wonderful hours enjoying our lunch. Highly recommended.

A very good meal, served bi attentive waiters in a historical ambience. A pity that the windows of the dining room are small and don’t allow to overview the landscape, but the fact of sitting inside a historical building must limit something. Overall a very good experience.

I chose this restaurant already aware that it was in the upper tier of restaurants and cuisine, with a price tag to match; nonetheless, it met or exceeded our expectations in almost every aspect. The location is spectacular, within a castle in immaculate grounds, thus quite unique. The room itself is spacious and uncrowded, and when we attended, was not busy. I was not particularly impressed by the artwork on the walls. Service was attentive, polite, and knowledgeable, My wife and I opted for two different 5-course set menu options, and as she has lactose and gluten intolerance we had the unusual and very positive experience of finding that the menu and food courses went off smoothly and without a hitch, including a baked dessert. Every single course from the amouse bouche was excellent, and ran the gamut from vegetarian to meat and fish. Attention to detail, presentation (my wife enjoyed the plateware as much as the food, I suspect) and wow factor were all on point. We agreed to leave the wine choices in the waiter's hands, and enjoyed every one of the 3 goblets we had between us (plus the aperitif). This being a castle, it is understandable that the amenities were a bit of a way away from the restaurant proper, but this did not impact upon the rewarding experience. Total for 2 including tips was €250.
