We booked our table through TheFork and were expecting the advertised 20% discount. Unfortunately, we missed out on it because we assumed it would be automatically applied. The staff member who greeted us was aware of our reservation through TheFork, yet the bill came without any discount. In hindsight, I wish I had double-checked the confirmation email and explicitly mentioned the discount before paying. So here's a tip for future diners: always confirm your discount before settling the bill! The food was decent, though not particularly memorable. We were a family of four, including two children, and opted for a simple meal without alcohol or dessert. The final bill came to €118. While we understand that restaurants may anticipate more elaborate dining, the subtle pressure to order more—and the tone in which it was conveyed—left us feeling slightly uncomfortable. A more welcoming approach would have made a big difference. Overall, it is not one we’d be eager to visit back.

Quite simply, this is a small (intimate?) restaurant with exceptional service and food. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

The meal was like a performance primarily because we ordered what is likely the house speciality, the real “bistecca fiorentina”. A wonderful performance because the staff present —-close to the table the grilled meat (sold by the kilo and minimum two persons ). —-slice it up, generously sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper (I believe) and light it all on fire. The flames are short lived but remain long enough to sear the meat just a bit more to make it perfetto. Not to be missed while in Florence! One note of caution: don't make the same mistake as I did and wait patiently for the bill at the end. March right up to the counter like the Italians and pay at the register. Lovely experience and memory!

The friendly staff explained the menu in detail. The meat was very fresh and the pasta made the meat more delicious. I recommend eating spaghetti and meat together.

We really enjoyed our meals! By the glass wine options were limited but the Bolgheri was lovely! As Americans and the fact we were starving our main meals—-truffle pasta and the ravioli portions were a little small. We were still a little hungry. But next time we’ll just order 2 portions :) Great service too!

My wife and I shared the Tuscany Florentine T-bone for her birthday tonight, and it was perfecto! The roasted potatoes with rosemary were just right, and the desserts were wonderful as well. The Alla Griglia staff were attentive and helpful without being intrusive. I have to say the meal was worth every penny, and is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for”! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Florence! Making reservations through TheFork was simple and easy and very much appreciated.

+1Delicious! We had the pasta with Rabbit Ragu and the famous regional dish of Bistecca alla Fiorentinsa which was prepared tableside. Ended our meal with the panna cotta with berry coolie which was light and sweet.

My husband is a huge meat eater. He and I loved our meal!! Absolutely delicious! Very reasonably priced (we are from NYC so it’s relative). Restaurant was clean, warm and welcoming! Our waiter Lorenzo was kind, patient with our questions (he spoke English) and funny too! Highly recommend!

Over the years we've eaten at a number of the Florentine steakhouses. Many of them are quite good. None is better than Alla Griglia. Our steak was cooked to perfection and served with panache. The side salad was prosaic but the antipasti and primi were fantastic. Our waiter was knowlegable about the wines on their list and very helpful. Beyond wishing they had al fresco seating there is nothing I would change. Very highly recommended!

The menu was varied and full of Tuscan specialities. We really enjoyed the pasta and wild boar ragu. The staff were friendly and we would definitely go again.

Alla Griglia is an incredible restaurant where you can eat a very good "Fiorentina" steack. The people there are very kind. You pay what you get! Maximum quality!

This is my third or fourth visit! It is an amazing experience for steak lovers. My advice - order the Florentine steak paired with a Chianti wine. Trust how the chef prepares the steak and have an amazing time! It is a bit pricey- but 100% worth it. This is THE spot for the famous Florentine steak. A big thank you to Alla Griglia for reading the comments in my reservation and bringing out candles for the birthdays we were celebrating! Until next time! Grazie.
