8/10We were looking so forward to eating here on our last night in Florence. Upon arrival, they seemed to have difficulty finding our reservation through The Fork. I still don't know if they found it or just seated us because they were not busy for a Friday evening. We ordered 3 courses but they delivered courses 1 & 2 at the same time. We ordered one item from each section of the menu so it should have been pretty clear. No other restaurant seems to have this issue. We ordered the bistecca for 2 and the server recommended it medium. We ordered it medium rare but I think he must have put the order in for medium. We ordered our "dolce" after dinner and I ordered an espresso. The waiter told me it would come after the "dolce." The espresso never came. I gave them multiple opportunities to provide and to get their attention but they never looked at us. We travel to Florence quite often and are familiar with the culinary customs so we certainly know good food and service when we get it. We requested the check, paid, and left disappointed. I will say the food was excellent. The service just disappoints and that is a shame because of the quality of the food.

10/10Every bite of everything we ordered was fantastic!!! I had Bistecca for 2 and shared with a friend and there was still enough for everyone at the table to sample!

2/10We got in the restaurant and we noticed that no signal or wifi was working. I had an important email to answer and also a telephone and the waiter with glasses laughed ironically. I suspect that the wifi was indeed working since i found it. I can’t explain why the waiter told that was not working and didn’t tell me the code. When i told him we had to leave he charged us 12 euros. What a rude guy! I feel sorry for the restaurant!

9/10Best meal in Italy! We had the eggplant Parmesan as an appetizer followed with the Florentine steak and the tagliatelle pasta. The dessert was also amazing. This is a must go to restaurant went in Florence.

10/10This restaurant was recommended by our AirBnB host. My family and I went the first night we were in Florence for the famed Florentine steak “la bistecca”. We ordered the steak, truffle pasta, roasted potatoes and a bottle of wine. The steak was cooked to perfection (rare as per tradition) and the pasta was so delicious. Our server was very attentive and fantastic. We loved this place so much we went again on our last night in Florence and as expected the food was amazing. Best restaurant we ate at in Florence. Highly highly recommended

10/10Across the river location was an excellent ending to our trip to Florence. The selections were rustic to match to interior of our dining experience. We could see them preparing our meal in the kitchen while we visited. I had the roasted boar stew that was excellent. The prices were very reasonable and great selection of wine to choose from. It was raining and they called a taxi that saved us the stress of walking. Would definitely recommend this gem for others

9/10I had the Florentine steak, while my wife had the veal. Both were good but not amazing. My steak was tougher and with more gristle than ideal. Also the waiter did not ask how cooked the meat should be, and as a result the veal was rarer in the middle than my wife likes. We had the zuccotino for dessert, which is one of the best desserts we had in our 10 nights in Italy.

6/10We had returned for dinner because we had so enjoyed the restaurant for lunch the day before. That was a mistake. At lunch, with Italian dinners at other tables, we had been given the Italian menu of varied dishes, At our subsequent dinner, the tables filled with tourists, we were immediately given an English menu, much briefer and less varied than the one the day before, My spaghetti with artichokes was so inedibly salted, (which I told the waiter and got no response) I left it after trying a few bites. A shame since it’s an attractive place and we know they do good food for their non-tourist clientele.

8.5/10Food at this restaurant was excellent. Pasta with fresh truffles was cooked to perfection and flavors were rich and satisfying while focusing on the main hero -the truffles. Florentine steak was juicy, flavorful and melted in your mouth. The panna cotta was also one of the best I tried. The service was somewhat spotty, our waiter did not seem very interested in telling us about the food or the wine. The location is slightly out of the main touristy area, which I consider a plus, and you could spot quite a few patrons speaking Italian. The place is busy even on a weekday night, so a reservation is a must.

8.5/10Server was in a horrible mood, not accommodating or friendly but food was excellent. Other staff were lovely. It could be that we had several children with us and he did not care for that, not clear what his problem was. In any case, food was excellent, lively atmosphere outweighed a disgruntled, angry server.

10/10This is a fantastic Italian family restaurant! Food is the primary concern not English so go with the flow! The food is fantastic! They recommended a wonderful wine to accompany our meals. The Carbonara with artichokes is the best as well as the one-person Bistecca. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

4/10Food was decent. Although we needed to ask to add the items to the icecream as mentioned on the menu after it had been served. We did feel somewhat neglected. We were the first in the restaurant and were placed in the second room. Where no other guest would arrive for another hour. The main entrance hall was full of people. We were having dinner together with my daughters of 1 and 3, so it might have got something to do with the fear of them annoying other guest, not sure though. Owner walked by several times, didn’t give us the light of day. Other waiting staff was friendly.

5/10Disappointing dinner & I am not one to write negative reviews. Ordered the Filet cooked Medium, came to the table Rare to Medium Rare. Sent it back twice, asking for Medium. Came back at most to Medium Rare. Waiter did not check on to make sure the meat was cooked to satisfaction. Same exact scenario occurred for the other couple dining with us. There’s a lot of great restaurants in Florence, I would look around for another, especially if you enjoy steak cooked Medium or more.
