10/10Delicious take on all the Roman classics with attentive service. It is located on a side street off the tourist pedestrian walk, so offers an opportunity for some pleasant, peaceful dining.

10/10The place submerge you in the antique times of the amazing Italian cuisine, the place is decorated with beautiful hand painting murals about Rome in the walls , we order the amatriciana pasta witch is the yummiest I ever had with a recipe that is old as the restaurant and home made pasta, the service was amazing!! the wine delicious 🤤 , he had an amazing time ! We will be back for sure !

10/10Their artichokes are amazing, and the pasta which had artichokes was also wonderful. I had the carbonara, glorious! We actually went back the next night instead of trying a new place.

10/10Our first meal in Italy! My wife said it set the standard for everything else we’ll experience while here. We had the Bucatino All’Amatriciana (bucatini, pork cheek, tomato, & pecorino romano) & Funghi Porcini E Tartufo. Had a hard time deciding which we loved more. Both the food and the service were EXCELLENT. We loved our experience at Antica Trattoria Al Gallinaccio!

9/10The food quality was very good. Service warmed up but started quite indifferently. Ambience was good. More limited wine choice than I would have expected. Not sure I would go back. Too many other good restaurants to try in Roma.

10/10Quiet with the feeling of an old established traditional trattoria. Excellent friendly, patient service. The ordered food was served promptly but there was no rush to order or to leave even though we were the last lunch party. An extremely pleasant and relaxed meal.

10/10It was so good that we had to come back again. This time we started with the prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella. For dinner, we had the Veal Saltimboca, Steak w/ housemate apple "sauce", Carbonara, and a Porcini & Truffle pasta (can't remember the name). They were all top notch (incredible, molto bene!). It was worth two trips. Don't miss is!

9/10Great little place for a really good family experience. The service was prompt and the food was ready quickly. We had the Cacio e Pepe, the Amatriciana, and a Porcini spaghetti. They were all incredible. The only knock was that we were done and had to wait a while for the check. However, that could be cultural where I'm used to American servers rushing you out for the next diner.

10/10Sat outside, they had a few tables…was perfect for our family of four. It’s just around the corner from a busy stretch of restaurants/shops, but it’s a little oasis of tranquility and excellent food.

5/10We had high expectations based on the great reviews, but our experience was not great. Food was average, and they seated us in a back room next to a large, loud group of diners. There were other tables available, but they put us in a room with just us and this rowdy party. It was our fault for not asking to move, but my companions didn’t want to make a scene. Overall disappointing.

10/10The service was a great and food did not disappoint! This was our first stop in Rome and the Carbonara was very hard to beat anywhere else! The location was very convenient especially as we got a discount for staying in the airbnb above the place.

9.5/10We enjoyed this trattoria very much. The waiter was exceptional and recommended some classical Roman dishes including Roman style artichokes and some of the best carbonara we have eaten. Moderately priced and simple food and ambiance. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Rome.

10/10Absolutely fantastic find! So glad we trusted the reviews and it’s no surprise why so many people love this place! Staff were very friendly and informative and made our visit perfect! The food was beautiful and very traditional, and it was certainly great value for money (unlike many other places that close to the Trevi Fountain). Definitely recommend, we will be back! *****
