We stopped in for lunch and had the traditional jota soup- very delicious! Plus wine, torte and coffee with excellent service by a knowledgeable, energetic young man. Beautiful mid day break.

Unfortunately, an unpleasant experience, we had a reservation for 8:30 in the evening, a family with a child..., after sitting for 40 minutes, none of the waiters came to our table, not even with a request for water and wine, we felt uncomfortable and considered leaving the place but we didn't have a reservation anywhere else and we didn't want to stay hungry, two waiters walked around us to the surrounding tables and people who came later were served. After 40 minutes, the sommelier came to us who felt uncomfortable about the situation and we got two glasses of wine for free. After finishing the wine, no one came to ask if we could have more, or if we wanted water. The sommelier then repeatedly appealed to the waiter to come and serve us and I must say, the situation was reluctance. The food was not of the quality we had eaten here before and I got a different soup than I asked for, instead of Jota soup I got onion soup.

Disappointed,dated interior ,awful starters,main dish ok, expensive.Not really good start of holiday in Trieste.We are well travelled around Italy and Austria, never had such a poor experience.We are think the owner of named cafe not really proud of his beautiful city!

We chose Caffè San Marco for the best cafe in Trieste. However, the food was reasonably good, but the caffèe is nothing special, which is a big disappointment. The server spoke English well enough and was very nice.

Beautiful interior and atmosphere. You could imagine the writers and intellectual people who had visited this cafe including James Joyce. The food was delicious 😋

I expected the quality of food one typically finds at a touristy spot like this one, but the food was outstanding and the waiter we had went above and beyond to make our lunch absolutely great. Highly recommend!!

It was a great pleasure and a unique experience. Everything was so extraordinary and the lunch was exceptionell accompanied by a wonderful advice by service. I loved it. Thx for that outstanding experience

Finding the best of Vienna in Triest. Founded in 1914. A archetypical café. With everything that made it special from the start. Great food from a limited menu. At a reasonable price. Tasty and fresh. Fast and friendly service. We will return.

The food is average, terrible service. But the sommelier, she is very friendly and attentive.

The staff was very charming and nice, they even speak to us a little in our native language and offered a dessert from our home country, the serving was fast and the food was fresh and tasteful. Definitely going back there.

Great ambience, decent food. Although it looks like most of the visitors are either tourists or elderly residents, it felt authentic. The library part with tables is my absolute favorite. Unfortunately, the 20% discount we should have received for booking through The Fork was not applied to the bill. But we didn’t want to make a fuss.

Place was awsome. Food was very good with just the right amount to be able to eat everything. The offering had a new cuisine vibe. I had the eggplants and it was delicious with succulent cheeses. My husband had the duck and was very pleased to find this item on the menu. The decor made it a special place to have dinner.

Fascinating décor. Good food and service. Be careful of the beef carpaccio -- it was VERY thickly sliced and difficult to eat.

A perfect first evening in Trieste. Small but perfectly formed menu, lovely service in an incredibly beautiful building.
