4/10Booked weeks ago, yet were sat at a table next to a noisy serving station on a thoroughfare that all the staff constantly paraded past.A very distracted maitre D got our water order wrong.He then took our food order of starter & main course. Our table was booked for 8:30pm at 9:55pm, whilst still awaiting our main course the Maitre D, came you our table to ask if we wanted dessert.We informed him we were still awaiting our main course. He went to the pass, returned & said somehow he had forgotten to give our main course order & that it would be with us in 5 mins. 20mins later , it finally arrived. By now, we just wanted to leave & had not stay for dessert. I booked Arca , having seen your owner on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. I have been a guest on that programme several times & was massively disappointed in the lack of focus & professionalism. Forgetting a simple order is unforgivable & shows nothing but lack of care. We came from the UK for this embarrassing dissapointment

9.5/10The service and food was outstanding ! We rated ambience just a little bit lower because of the projected images on one wall that was a little distracting. Without that distraction, the decor and general ambience of the restaurant was fantastic ! We highly recommend it!

9.5/10Great food and athmosphere. Chef does some magic with very balanced and striking flavors. Good choice of wines. The only improvement area is the service time between courses when it is too busy. Sometimes the pairing wine is served 20-25 mins before you get the course served which is definitely not ideal. Overall we are extremely pleased and will be there again definitely.

The location is good, the ambience is pretty nice, the service is very good also! The foods are fine but not impressed, we ordered the seafood rice which is good, enough for 3 people! But the taste is just ok, nothing spectacular

10/10Saudade is in the soul! 2 PT friends decided to try In Amsterdam Arca, served & cooked by Portuguese people, traditional Portuguese food using mastery of flavour and cooking techniques on high quality! Staff was super friendly & attentious, even provided a tour on the art gallery. Love the touch on having a Sommelier in house, trying new wine flavours. What a fantastic amazing treat we had. We haven't eaten so well in a long time. What a great evening, everything was perfect! Thank you so much, you brought home to us.

+3The food was delicious. The unique flavor combinations worked really well. The wait staff were lovely and attentive at the beginning, but I found that they got a bit distracted as the restaurant got busier. I would definitely return and recommend Arca to others.

10/10The complexity of each dish was amazing. We had the mushroom starter that was a fusion of flavours. The salted cod was a new experience on having a cod. And finally the cauliflower desert was something we had never tasted before. Flavours to die for. A great meal.

8/10We got the tasting menu. Some things we loved, some not so much but that’s the point. Trying new things. The wine pairings were excellent. Service during the meal was timely, but in the beginning and at the end were a little slow.

9.5/10It was good food and overall a good experience. Not extraordinary though, but then I got spoilt by Belcanto in Lisbon last month. Hence my expectations were higher. The wine list needs a few Coravin enabled selections of higher end Portuguese wines.

7/10If you know the traditional Portuguese cuisine very well, don’t expect you will find it here. Arca makes its own twist on every traditional Portuguese dish and asks a relatively high price. The twist itself doesn’t make it better than the original, I would say it makes it worse. The space is very very noisy and on top the music (rock music) coming out of the very poor quality ceiling speakers is loud and not suitable for a place trying to offer the upper level of the average restaurants. Apart from that the utensils look old and very worn out. As it is part of the hotel you see people in bathing suits going to the SPA passing the restaurant space. Overall I think it’s not matching expectations and more a disillusion in reality after looking at the pictures on the website and social media. The service of the waiters is splendid, that was the only outstanding aspect.
