We ordered one wine, but they brought us a different one, saying it was almost the same. It wasn’t. They also made a mistake with my pasta and rushed a replacement, which arrived barely cooked. My girlfriend ordered a carbonara, and they didn’t put Parmesan on top, which was strange, but we accepted it. Then we noticed they didn’t do the same to a woman sitting next to us. Guess what? She ordered the same dish, with no special request but got the Parmesan. To make things worse, they didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. Overall, the experience was bad. I don’t recommend it.

The olive dip with bread was really good! The burrata starter was quite unlike from other burrata that i have tasted, maybe because it’s baked. The lobster used in the lobster pasta tasted frozen but the pasta was tasty with hints of lobster essence. Swordfish was interesting but start main focus of the dish didn’t feel like the swordfish as it’s a thin slice wrapping it… but fish was fresh!

I have been to Assaggi three times, and this third visit finally stood out. I won’t compare it to the others because the food tonight was on another level. The 24-hour slow-cooked beef cheek had subtle, layered flavors that quietly brought me to Italy. It tasted like what great meat should truly be. The rigatoni was perfect al dente, with a sauce that showed real precision and passion. Every bite felt balanced and intentional. The carpaccio was simple, clean, and genuinely well made, with a presentation that felt almost heavenly. And the service from Letitia made the whole night even more special. She was warm, attentive, and added a personal touch that stayed with me long after the meal. Tonight made me understand Assaggi in a new way. I would gladly come back again and again.

Atmosphere is really romantic. Service is fast, maybe too fast. Pasta was average, nothing special. Asperges as a side were literally 4 pieces. From the pictures we expected more.

Best food during our stay in Amsterdam. Beef was exceptional. Desserts were mindblowing (tiramisu!). Prices rather higher than average, but worth it. Hope to have dinner in Assaggi again! Thank you!

So happy we chose this restaurant to eat before we visited Anne Frank house. The food was excellent and we felt welcomed by the staff and owners.. It was like being in Sicily! To the Senora of house thank you so much, the lemonchello was delicious!

We had an amazing time here. The food was delicious and tasty. Service was amazingly kind and quick. We also got a little chef suprise starter and a small limencello to end the meal. So lovely 100% recomemnded

Second time and better experience than the first. Faster service, good and attentive as first time. Dishes/flavours better than first time also. Definitely worth a third visit.

+1NYE dinner here was amazing. Service was excellent, cozy atmosphere and enough can’t be said about the quality of the food and wine. We had been traveling through France and Belgium for 2 weeks and ended our trip in Amsterdam. This was hands down the best meal and service we experienced on our trip. Love, love, love everything about our night here.

Consistency is not there: some good and savorous dishes while others lack taste. Nice place and service.

The waiter was very rude and was clearly overwhelmed as it looks like they are understaffed. The inside area is super hot and there in no AC. The drinks and food took ages to arrive, and the food was not as tasty as I would expect.

Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was kind. Great experience- we will be back! Only very minor issue was the music was slightly too loud but not a huge deal

What a wonderful dinner I had with my two daughters at Assaggi on Sunday evening. We sat in a small enclave at the back of the restaurant which created a very intimate dining experience. We were greeted by the friendly staff and our server was wonderful - she really took care of us, was attentive, and laughed with us a lot. She also brought over a wonderful surprise drink - frozen vodka limoncello - at the end of the meal, which was fantastic. The food was delicious and plentiful, starting with the incredible bread and olive dip for the table. We enjoyed the tomato basil soup, the pear salad, the mushroom rollatini, and pasta bolognese, all of which were extremely good and authentic. We would definitely come back on our next trip to Amsterdam!

Recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. Tapenade was fabulous. And the salad was one of the best I have ever had. The rigatoni was excellent as well!

Probably the best Italian restaurant outside of Italy! Antonio, Massimo, you guys ROCK! What a fantastic evening we had in your restaurant yesterday ! You made us feel welcome and at home, in true Italian style. Hats off! We were a group of 10, arriving from India, UK and Sweden, celebrating 50th birthday of a friend and you made it very special. We had Parmigiana Di melanzane scomposta, cuore Di bue, Sea bas in tomato sauce, pastas, tiramisu - all in excellent style. But your special truffle risotto combined with the fine Barolo wines was just outstanding! I will make another trip to Amsterdam, with my other friends, just to try rest of your menu. Thank you!

Really friendly people and the food was lovely. The beef cheeks were epic! it's a medium sized restaurant with a really nice atmosphere.... cozy but not too big / busy. We had a lovely time.

Unfortunately the staff were not attentive and we felt everyone around us was being prioritised over us. It was a very disappointing meal especially as we had just got engaged and I had told them on the booking that it was a celebration for our engagement.

It’s OK but we were not lucky with the food; too heavy abd too simple for the cost; a white pasta. Suppose other and the pastas are better. Tiramisu could be a lot better,

Was substantially ignored by the wait staff most of the visit. Sat with empty wine glasses most of the meal. Waited a long time once our meal was complete for any offer of dessert.

Food and wine were good. Far from the best Italian in Amsterdam but a quality kitchen staff that can build a good Italian dish. The food was out FAST in a full restaurant. The speed of the food made us feel like we were eating at McDonalds. Service was ok. We're a mixed Dutch/English group that speak english and feel like we were treated like tourists. Tourists. = they want to turn the table over to the next diners as they'll never see us again. It's been a few years since we've visited the restaurant, it's changed. It will be the last.

The food at Assaggi was amazing! We loved everything we ordered from the fresh burrata with ham, pear and cheese salad and carbonara pasta! Every bite was delicious! The restaurant was recommended to us and we would definitely go back again if we lived in Amsterdam.
