I'm totally disapointed in this restaurant!!! We had booking on 20th march and they bloked in advance, on 17th march the sum 160€ for non-showing, although we visited it on 20th. We claimed our bloked money back, but they have not returned it back yet and today is 26th of march!!! Do not go there! They will rob you!!! The staff is arogant and does not respect guests!!!

The 160 euro pre-authorization is not a charge, but a standard procedure used by many restaurants to secure the reservation. The amount is automatically released by the bank within the timeframes established by the card network, usually within a few days. The release is not managed by restaurant but depends solely on the customer's bank processing times. Furthermore, our staff has always maintained a professional and respectful attitude, as confirmed by the many positive reviews from our guests. We regret this misunderstanding, but we can assure you that there was absolutely no intention to "rob" anyone, nor has there ever been any lack of respect from our team. I wish you a good evening.

Excellent fish, presentation no so nice, not many people to be Saturday, had to send back sides because they served them before the mail dish and got cold by the time the fish arrived.

I had the fresh catch and it was really well prepared and delicious. Wine by the glass is limited and poor. The spaghetti & clams was just ok. Service was quite poor. Seemed liked the wait staff was overwhelmed and I always had to call them to get their attention. Tries 3 times to get our check and finally got up and went to the front counter to get noticed…then the invoice was incorrect. Overall good food and nice atmosphere but we really had to work for it.

From the minute you walk in you feel … now this is what A Rome restaurant should feel like. The staff, the service and the food is beyond exceptional. We know good food, Assunta Madre is one of the best in Rome. Exceptional Food!!!

A nice break from traditional Roman foods in the historic area. The portions were large without the food being too heavy. An extensive wine collection of unique varieties. Overall good presentation, only drawback was they were out of an item but we didn't find out until after our meal was served making it too late to change and have everything served together.

We missed Mediterranean seafood and stumbled upon this quiet and unassuming restaurant. It is intimate and upscale. The service and the quality of the food was exceptional. We had the sea bass and artichoke which were delicious. Also the lobster and linguini were a culinary treat. Very good wine selection as well. Happy to have had this as our last night in Rome.

In 2017 we went 3 nights in a row to this restaurant as it was the best...Particularly their Vongole. Anticipations were high for this return. Unfortunately, we felt let down as all dishes were no longer to the standard of the past, whilst their price had been increased.

The food was delicious, my pasta with lobster was al dente with rich, flavourful sauce with lots of chunks of lobster. The service was friendly and quick. The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere.

Nothing really went well

Bait and switch. Picked out 600g scorpion fish and was served pasta with tiny morsels of fish. A real sham! Avoid at all costs. Server was very nice and took the dish off the bill. I would rather have gotten what I ordered. Wife's seafood risotta had 3 small shrimp, no bivalves whatsoever! Terrible.
