This is a small, long-established restaurant, not superficially glamorous but very welcoming. The ambience is warm and friendly. The cooking was superb. The staff were very attentive and happy to give advice. We really enjoyed our visit and will certainly go there again.

Old reliable bistro in the middle of the 11th, one of the only ones to remain open during August, but worth going to anytime. Simple traditional flavors, moderately priced and well chosen wines, warm service. Signature dishes include the starter of marinated herrings with potatoes and the amazing baba au rhum dessert.

Thanks for a lovely evening full of delightful food, friendly service, generous portions, greatest rhum baba on the planet and an entertaining patron.

Exceptional service and the food is phenomenal! We went to celebrate her birthday and they offered us complimentary drinks to start with. They explained the menu, the dishes and what they recommend. Throughout our dinner they checked up on how it was, and if we needed anything. I can fully recommend Astier and we'll definitely be back while in Paris.

This is my third time here, and I’ll keep coming back again and again. It’s a true french cuisine experience: not only is the food made with exquisite ingredients, but the charming atmosphere and professional staff make every visit exceptional. And now I am hungry again!

I first visited Astier in 2013. I've been back more than a dozen times since, mostly during 2017-2020 when I lived in Paris. Through significant changes, it's been my favorite traditional Parisian Bistro in its price range. Everything about the place -- menu, service, ambiance, friendliness, value -- is excellent. I can't recommend it more.

They were very flexible about letting me order two entrees rather than an entree and a plat. The pate en croute was quite good but the scallops were outstanding. Perfectly cooked, presented on the half shell with sauteed leeks and fried leeks added for crunch.

Just lovely! The service was impeccable, friendly and efficient, the food, delicious. I had white asparagus with sauce mousseline followed by a generous portion of tender lamb that was good, albeit slightly under seasoned. It was served with gratin de patate douce that melted in my mouth! But the show-stopper was the pavlova aux fraises. Encroyable! Compliments to the chef! I highly recommend Astier. I’ll have lunch here next week.

The food was simply excellent, also the apéro (Pastis) and the corresponding White Burgundy. We'll definitely come back!

I love this place. The restaurant offers classic French cuisine, with daily changing, lovingly prepared dishes. The service is very attentive and friendly, and I felt very welcome and well advised. The wine list is excellent.

Everything went beyond our expectations. Caroline was helpful and lovely. Every dish was more delicious than the one before. The monkfish was perfect. For being such fine quality dining, our experience was warm and unpretentious. Memorable delicious time at Astier.

L’Astier is a little jewel. Had a duck entree with a reduction that was sublime. The scallops were fresh and the chocolate soufflé was paired with a fine red from the restaurants impressive wine list.

The food was delicious, but we were offered ‘specials’ with no indication of price. We were offered duck with vegetables. The taste was excellent, but the amount if duck served was small and we were amazed to be charged €80! Much too expensive. The entire bill came to €247.00. It was good, but not that good. Also, we should have been told the prices of the specials

We would definitely recommend this restaurant. We went as a family of four including two teenage children and I had worried beforehand about bringing our children to a smart French restaurant knowing that the French tend not to do this, however we were made to feel very welcome and the friendly waiter could not have been more helpful to us with our menu choices. The food was outstanding with their steak au poivre amongst the best we’ve ever eaten.

Booking for 19:00; nobody there. Waited until 19:15; nobody there. Went and ate somewhere else. Had the same experience already a couple of years ago,. As I had plenty of time standing outside to read the menu I noticed that it was exactly the same as last time.

A wonderful lunch of standard French food. Price for two courses was 25Euros. I had the Plat and Dessert and my companion the starter and Plat. Veal stew with seasonal vegetables was my choice with their famous self proclaimed best in Paris Rum Baba. It was generous and certainly the best I have had.

This is my second time at Astier, the cheese platter was the reason why I came the first time, however, this time, a nice surprise was that the pumpkin soup was one of the best I've ever tasted! The steak was also just right, tender inside and the right amount of crispiness on the outside. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, we very much enjoyed the meal and would definitely come again.

Very good traditional french brasserie with excellent food, wine, service and ambiance. Not the cheapest you will find but worthwhile. Good sized portions, nicely presented, excellent cheese plate

Superb food served by friendly professionals. Interesting menu with excellent cooking techniques applied. Cheese course was superb - 12 varieties across two plates. Desert of French toast disappointing— otherwise excellent.

It was to be our romantic Thanksgiving lunch in Paris. We made reservations for 1:30 pm. We arrive and surprised it was only 1/4 or so full. On a prior visit in 2013 it was packed. We were asked if we had a reservation. I said yes. We were shown a seat to the left of the front door where it was chilly. When I asked if there was another table available we were offered a table by an open door that lead into the kitchen where we could see the kitchen staff at work. I was puzzled when so many other seats were available why we were offer these two options. So we sat at the table by the front door and kept our down coats on the entire time. The only other person sitting in the front room with us was a woman from NYC celebrating her birthday. She said the same thing had happened to her. I didn’t feel welcomed. We tried to make the best of the situation assuming the other tables had been reserved but they hadn’t been. They remained empty. The food wasn’t as good as before. Disappointing overall.

A real local treat. The service is typical french, engage with the server and you reap the benifits. The wine selection is well thought out and cheese platter diverse. An early booking is recommended for the atmosphere.

We had a lovely dinner sitting outside in a charming neighborhood. The food is traditional French, the ambiance of a bistro, the wine list extensive. Our server could not have been nicer even as we bumbled our order and changed our minds repeatedly. We’ll be back!
