Gabriele is the chef, host, waiter and makes the entire meal an event! We’ve been in Florence for a month and we chose B.O.r.G.O. for our first dinner out and our last dinner out … plus one in between. Each time the menu was unique and delicious! We can’t recommend his restaurant enough! We’ll miss you Gabriele, thanks for being a part of our month in Firenze!

We had a memorable meal at B.O.r.G.O. tonight! We were treated as family and welcomed to this small, beautiful space with open arms. There is attention to every detail in the food preparation as well as the ambiance of the restaurant! We can’t wait to go back!

The food is wonderful, with healthy ingredients and lovely preparation. Best of all is the the host and owner Gabriel, so welcoming and full of cheer and global perspective. It is a treat to dine at Borgo.

A fabulous meal. The best Gin & Tonic we’ve had in years followed by great food and wine. Simple but delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect experience at B.O.r.G.O. The chef/owner Gabriele was also our waiter, and it was incredible having him bring all of his creations to our table and explaining everything about them. The restaurant is also full of little personal touches throughout (like a Lego Fiat Cinquecento) that only add to the special experience. Highly recommend for when in Florence!

Chef Daniel served us an excellent meal, with suggestions on his specials and wine pairings. The meal was very tasty and the wines were perfect with his plates. We love his farm to table concept, it was the reason we chose this restaurant. Products served were fresh, local and very tasty. Again thank you Daniel for an excellent experience. We very much enjoyed our evening and commend you on your vision for your restaurant. We will be back should we visit Florence again.

What a special dinner for our last night in Florence! Gabriel was a great host- he explained all of the amazing dishes on the menu and chose a perfect and delicious wine for us. The duck was one of the best duck dishes we have ever had. I highly recommend a visit to his restaurant!

This was one of the best dinners we’ve ever had. The owner had a genuine passion for the menu and it was quite evident. A one of a kind experience that we stumbled upon during our time in Florence. Must go!

Friendly welcome by the owner, I had pre- booked and indicated that I am vegetarian - he talked me through the options on the menu. Attentive service and beautifully presented food, which tasted fantastic. Great care is obviously taken over the menus and the rustic, but classy, decor of the restaurant. As a lone traveller on the first night of my holiday I really enjoyed the experience of eating at B.o.r.g.o. and it was a such a lovely start to my time in Florence.

What a wonderful find. Small and friendly restaurant with a warm and charismatic owner. Beautifully curated menu bursting with flavour despite the dishes having a simple and stripped back appearance. An absolute must if you enjoy an intimate atmosphere with an attentive host and inventive but honest food that has been lovingly prepared and sourced.

Gabriele, what a fantastic character. Absolutely Love what this restaurant is doing and achieving. Compared with the hundreds of other eateries in Florence this stood out as remarkable. The food was excellent and different, everything we ordered was one of those (oh wow, this is good , Quiet savouring moments where you just nod in acceptance to each other. It was amusing as everyone else in the place was doing the same thing. We want to go back again and again. If you are in Florence , You should too. Good value, Honest service.

The chef was very personable and created a very personal dining experience that we really enjoyed. There were a ton of gluten free options and they were absolutely delicious! We’re definitely going back to this restaurant next time we’re in Florence

We were welcomed by Gabriel, the owner of the restaurant at the door. A very genuine guy, wanting to make sure you had the best time and food at his restaurant. We loved his recommendations and explanations of the food. All of the dishes were outstanding. We especially enjoyed the chickpea pancake. Highly recommended, and will come again ne t time we are in Florence.

Gabrielle is one in a million - fabulous chef, fabulous server, wonderful personality. Borgo is his gift to Florence and her inhabitants - delicious, inventive food at a great value. Relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Grazie Mille for many lovely evenings, Gabrielle, at Borgo!

The menu was exiting. Great to choose to medium sized dishes for one person. We where two adults and three kids and shared eight dishes. was super nice!

It's hard to think of what a better dining experience could have been. The attention to every detail in an intimate, relaxed, and slightly bohemian restaurant is second to none. The chef/owner Gabriele brings passion and creativity to every dish he creates with flavours that are original but never overpowering. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back for a second meal in three nights of our four in Florence. This is a place not to be missed on your visit. If you want a special meal that breaks away from the standard fare found at most central Florence spots - this is IT. Grazie mille Gabriele!

Exceptional experience. Very authentic and creative cooking combined. The passion of the chef/owner came through in every dish and his personal service throughout our dinner was special. Look at the menu; it has an amazing. One of our best experiences in Italy this trip. Not fancy decor, but very nice and welcoming. We highly recommend it.

The owner/chef is passionate about the dishes he creates. He enjoyed sharing details about the dishes and he speaks English very well so it was easy to make the right menu choices. Everything was delicious!

We adored Borgo — easily our favorite meal after three days in Florence. The space is small and simple, more like a hip vintage apartment than a restaurant, and the vibe is just as intimate. The owner/chef/baker/waiter is both fun and attentive, and his passion for food is palpable. Though I eat meat, my partner and I shared three vegetarian dishes tonight — all of them excellent. The standout was the linguine with burnt onion sauce, licorice powder, and spring onion oil — one of the most creative and delicious pasta dishes I’ve ever had. Bravo to the Borgo team — this place is truly a gem!

In a city full of tourist traps and average dining, this place is a gem! Passionate chef / owner whose enthusiasm for his dishes shines through. All three courses were fantastic, particularly the homemade pasta. Please take the effort to walk 5 mins away from the centre and get a genuine experience.
