we really had good food. I love carciofo alla giudia, it’s really a delicacy. Prices are ok: We had 3 starters, 3 first courses and a bottle of wine and payed 75 euros. Pity we had to wait 10 minutes in the queue, even though we had booked before.

Food was good. It was not exceptional. Frankly, we expected better. We have been living in Italy and almost everywhere we go people seem to understand what has gluten and what does not (I cannot eat gluten). In fact, overall in Italy this has been easy. It was strange that two members of the restaurant staff who helped us did not seem to understand what did and did not have gluten — and, for example, that I couldn’t have a fried artichoke that had been fried in oil that had previously been used for frying battered cod. It seems like that they should know better...and only because almost every other restaurant we have been in for months and months and months seems to understand cross-contamination (contaminazione incrociata!) — and well, tutto.
