It was definitely my right choise to book this Sicilian style restaurant in Venice. Very friendly owner & staff and authentic food. I was lucky to find thsi restaurant on the fork.

This was the best dinner we had in Venice. Tiny restaurant with a very warm family atmosphere. Everything was absolutely delicious and the owner was very welcoming.

The home style food is genuine and delicious and the service is excellent and friendly. The lighting is a bit too bright but the casual atmosphere is pleasant.

Fantastic little bistro very close to the San Stae vaporettto stop. Marco the owner serves delicious Sicilian home cooking that is reasonably priced with very warm, welcoming atmosphere. He goes out of his way to accommodate special needs and creates terrific daily specials. We’ve been there 3 times. I could live on the focaccia alone!

AMAZING meal! The owner was so kind, humble, and very appreciative of his customers. Some were tourists but most were locals. I would absolutely return to try other items on the menu. For two of us, it was about 76 euros. Make reservations as the restaurant only hold about 30 people.

One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend pasta Ella Norma and the canoli.

The food variety is limited. Their online menu is misleading. Workers English comprehension is limited. They did not understand our questions and misled us on food choice. They use instant pesto sauce. Their roast beef is hard to eat. The food quality is low.

possibly the best food we had during our stay in venice, we loved it so much that we ate it before we took the photos so bare that in mind when you see them! The staff were lovely too and we even cuddled their dog Bruno! would recommend to anyone visting venice looking for a lively meal

The food is great, delicious. However compared with other restaurants we’ve been to in Venice, there are some things I would change if it was my restaurant. The decor is very bright/white, a bit clinical, I’d change the ambience to more inviting warm colours. Also padding on the seating. We did get forgotten a couple of times.

The BEST restaurant in Venice! We were a party of twelve and were welcomed like we were family. The food was fresh, delicious, and made with love. The owner sat down and explained the menu, talked about the ingredients, and made recommendations. Everyone enjoyed their meal and would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Venice.

I had such a wonderful experience at Bacaretto Bistrot Il Siciliano! The food was absolutely delicious – full of authentic Sicilian flavors that felt both traditional and unique. Every dish was prepared with such care and tasted fresh and vibrant. The service was equally impressive: warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. The staff made us feel at home right away, which added so much to the whole experience. This place is truly special if you want to enjoy genuine Sicilian cuisine in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

+8Marco was a fantastic host! We really enjoyed talking with him about food! And speaking of food, this guy knows his way around the kitchen! Everything there was exceptional! It was the best dining experience we had in Venice. I highly recommend visiting Bacarretto if you have the chance. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

The focaccia starter was absolutely amazing!! The food and wine were both delicious, for sure a gem in the city. The ambiance is very family friendly, so do not be surprised if there’s kids around. If you have children- this is a lovely place to bring them! Overall, I highly recommended eating here at least once- seriously so good.

Bacaretto was a breath of fresh air in a crowded city. The food was home made, amazing, delicious, and beautifully served. The hostess made everyone feel right at home, and it could not have been a better meal. Highly recommend!

Excellent service and hospitality. It’s a place where you can comfortably dine even with children. Although located in Venice, they make it clear from the start that it is a Sicilian restaurant, which is a nice touch. As expected from Sicilian cuisine, dishes featuring pistachios, almonds, and sardines are highly recommended. However, I found the food to be slightly lukewarm overall. Travelers might not necessarily need to go out of their way to have Sicilian cuisine here.

The food more than equals the passion of the family that owns the place, and it is well worth the visit. We greatly enjoyed their pasta alla norma, and the caponata is a showstopper. They accommodated a dietary restriction within our party, and it was without any fuss. We'll be discussing this meal for a while.

What a wonderful place to eat! The food and drink was amazing. The host and staff were so friendly! I highly recommend gin and lemon.... and what ever the special of the day is as it will be fresh!

We enjoyed this friendly Sicilian place so much that we returned a couple of nights later. The short menu offers a few starters, a choice of pasta and a couple of meat and fish dishes. There are also a couple of daily specials. They have a small list of Sicilian wines. I particularly liked the Grillo with my pan-fried swordfish and broccoli. Whatever else you order, you should try the caponata. The smoked tuna with burrata was also great. The service is friendly (I heard them speak English, French and Spanish quite happily) and the pricing competitive and transparent. This is a great address in a city with many dodgy places and they really deserve to succeed.

The food is delicious the atmosphere relaxed. Fabrizio is gracious and full of good humor, making everyone feel welcome. The caponata is amazing.

Food was good, but we thought the pasta was too al dented, but that is a personal preference. the two biggest problems for us were that the restaurant was too hot and they were way understaffed. and even though they were understaffed, they kept setting up table outside. We got decent service but there was another couple that after 25 minutes without getting any water. Meanwhile the male waiter in their area was sitting with a another table and flirting with them.
