We went there 1 year prior and the food and the experience were equally outstanding this year. Looking forward to next year! Highly recommend

I had looked forward to having a lasagne after an earlier reviewer said that they had the best lasagne ever there however it was not in the menu. Perhaps it was on the specials board, however we weren’t shown it and only saw the board when someone else was shown it. The first and second wines that we chose were not available so settled for the third one. We both ordered the beef, weren’t asked how we would like it , it came luke warm and very rare. We also had the chard which I didn’t like at all. Not one member of staff checked on how our food was despite having to pass our table constantly, I barely ate mine. After we were finished the plates were left lying for ages and no-one approached us to take them away or ask if we wanted any coffee or dessert. When they did finally take the plates we asked for the bill and left. I felt that there was a bit of an atmosphere between the two male staff, one constantly leaving the door open the other closing it - it was a cold evening!

Most of the food was not avaible, we had a reservation at 20:00. We were not informed that they had run out of most of the food options until we were ready to order and the waiter told us that our choices were not possible. We came here because we read it was a lovely winebar whith simpele but good food. Despite it being a wine bar, they only had two white and two red options by the glass, no info on the wines and the overal atmosphere was a bit sad, no love to be recognized for the wines or food ( no homemade pasta), no interaction with the guests and also the hygine was not great (open kitchen directly near the toilet and many insects at the table) maybe they just had a bad day but we felt very dispapointed in our choice to make a reservation.

We really enjoyed the food and the local wine. The ambience was lovely, with lots of twinkly lights. We had a great night here.

Slow but relaxed service but very nice food. Great music and ambience was super. We had a lovely evening, would recommend and would return. If you’re in a hurry this isn’t the place for you but if you want a very chilled out meal then I’d heartily recommend.

Such a beautiful spot in Lucca little off the beaten track in a courtyard.. The lady who served us was one of the best we have ever met ‘Thank You for your kind and efficient service of the lovely food.’ This member of staff was virtually on her own with no help on a very busy lunchtime.Well Done We eat fantastic Tuna Tartare with Avocado and the beat Bruschetta with Anchovies Visited lunchtime on 22 July

A lovely meal with friends from Siena in a wonderful quiet courtyard. The owner was very kind and friendly. Beautifully presented food with an artistic style.

Could not have been happier with the service, atmosphere, and most importantly the food. Will definitely return again!

+1A cute little restaurant off of the main road. Our food was delicious and our server could not be nicer. Small menu since it is only a wine bar but we found plenty of good choices.

The space itself is lovely and welcoming as are the owner and staff. The cocktails and wine selection are excellent, and the food is exquisite and expertly prepared and plated. We went back a week later and enjoyed it just as much as our first visit. Will have this on our must-do list for every future Lucca visit. So happy to have found it. Such a treasure.

Delicious always innovative and fresh....thank you Costa and Mama. Perhaps one of the best restaurants in Lucca...tucked away on a little piazza. Mama, the chef is a genius in the kitchen

Booked this restaurant for Christmas Day (lunch). The owner’s mother was waitressing to help her son out (his wife had just had a baby) and she was very charming and helpful. The food was straightforward and enjoyable, with the emphasis on meat dishes (as is typical in this region). My son enjoyed his beef tartare and steak and the salmon was good too. The cheesecake was delicious. Very small inside seating area - only about four of five tables, but in warmer months the tables outside in the square would be lovely.

Although we had reserved a table in advance there wasn't a spare table outside. The staff removed a table from inside. We sat next to a couple who had walked in 40 minutes previously and were given the last table which was probably ours! Service was slow but pleasant. The food was excellent.

Service disorganised and slow…when waiting for second course to arrive we were told they had run out and had to order alternative.

Delicious fresh seafood and pasta dishes with very genuine and good service --the restaurant is tucked away on a little dreamy piazza -- very nice for couples and groups of friends. Excellent service by Consatantino and his staff!!

This restaurant was a great find on Tripadvisor/TheFork. The food, wine and service were excellent. The food proportions perfect. We started with the bruschetta, and then shared the salmon, gnocchi and tagliatelli with beef ragu. Everything was devine! We had the local pinot grigio and then a white from sardenia - all very interesting and quite tasty! We ended with the chef's take on tiarmassu - very different from anything we'd ever tasted before and excellent. The staff couldn't have been more attentive. The chef even came out to say hello.

When we arrived it appeared that the restaurant wanted to close. The staff were outside and it looked as though they were disappointed that we had arrived
Baccanale Wine Bar & BistrotRecensione in verità "strana".

I wish I lived in Lucca as I would be going to see Costo the owner every week! The food is truly fantastic, every morsel , every nuance. Being a discerning professional chef, dining at Baccanale has been the highlight of my stay in Lucca. You must go!
