The restaurant had a calm and cozy atmosphere. The staff was nice and the food and wine was really good. The options for kids were good as well. We will definately go back!

Went back to try the tagliatelle wild boar ragu for myself, truly delicious. The portions are very generous suggested they could offer half portions as I hate to waste food.

The Spanish cheese starter was extremely good, my friend and shared goats cheese brushetta and the mini aranchini, both absolutely marvellous. Tagliatelle wild boar ragu, shrimp rissotto and ricotta and spinach ravioli superb. Probably the best Italian food we've had this year at home or abroad. Highly recommended.

This is a genuine Italian experience in a lovely Portuguese town. You are welcomed warmly into this comfortable restaurant. The menu offers a good choice of delicious food with a number of vegetarian options all at a good price. This is our third visit and we will definitely return when we are back in Portugal, next year.

It was our second visit to the lovely Italian restaurant , Valeri who is front of house is very welcoming and friendly and the service is brilliant , Ludi is the amazing chef and makes some amazing dishes We shared the mini arancini and the tomato Bruschetta then I had the lasagne which was really delicious and my husband had the seafood spaghetti, which he said was fabulous and full of different seafood and to top it off we shared the tiramisu w

We always enjoy our visits to Basilico! Our dinners tonight were beyond delicious! And, Valaria works a busy room like no other; she is always there for you! The food and service are superior!!

Our waitress was brilliant- running the entire restaurant on her own with a smile. Pasta dishes were very good but the seafood risotto was very salty.

The food was delicious. The decor was well done, but the service was terribly slow. We saw 2 tables that arrived after us getting served first… improve the speed of the service and it will be a 5* restaurant. Well done.

We had a late lunch at Basilico this week during our visit to the town of Loule (great artisan market on Saturdays). Valeria greeted us warmly at the door and handed us our menus. We ordered 2 starters, bruschetta with goat cheese, and a dish of assorted fried “gems”, mini arancini and stuffed olives. Both were delicious. All three of us ordered different pasta dishes, pumpkin ravioli with sage, pasta Putanesca and gnocchi. The pasta dishes were all excellent, perfectly cooked and sauced, but the gnocchi were exceptional. Some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The sides were good too, sautéed spinach and a red cabbage salad that was a very refreshing addition to our meal. The tiramisu dessert was light as a feather and mouth watering. Needless to say, we did not leave hungry. There is no pizza on the menu—there is pizza across the street. But if you are looking for the true Italian food experience, it’s here at Basilico. The owners are Italian and it shows.

A very nice dinner with a true Italian twist. Great food, no pizza, and great wines. Nothing fancy but a fine meal in a family restaurant.

Amazing Italian Dining Experience! I recently dined at Basilico Trattoria Italiana, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff set the perfect tone for the evening. The food was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and authentically Italian. We started with the bruschetta, which had the perfect balance of crispy bread and fresh tomatoes. For the main course, the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection, and the rich, savory sauces were full of depth. The tiramisu for dessert was the best I’ve ever had—light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made great recommendations. The wine selection was impressive, perfectly complementing the meal. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, Basilico Trattoria Italiana is a must-visit. I can't wait to return!

Valerie has a fabulous Italian restaurant that has a lovely ambiance & great decor. We was spoilt for choice & we have to revisit to try more of the delicious choices available

Food always tastes good. Lasagne arrived not hot enough. (also happened on a prior visit) Don't understand it because when I make lasagne always comes out piping hot. Perhaps left on the pass for too long. Could do with more heating inside during the winter months. A shame because I would like to give a 10.

Everthing wonderful except lasagne arrived not hot and was still similar when it came back again. The serving dish was hotter but still not the lasagne.

Went here for dinner Tues & back for lunch Sat as so spoilt for choice on the menu. The goat's cheese bruschetta was superb as were the risottos, meatballs & seafood spaghetti. All served by the very sweet, efficient & lovely Valeria. A must for authentic Italian food. 5* Katherine & Steve Lloyd

The service was very good. We had carbonare which was great, but the seafood pasta was not very tasty and had very little seafood. It was very nice to sit outside and the green wine was great.
