10/10It was our second visit to the lovely Italian restaurant , Valeri who is front of house is very welcoming and friendly and the service is brilliant , Ludi is the amazing chef and makes some amazing dishes We shared the mini arancini and the tomato Bruschetta then I had the lasagne which was really delicious and my husband had the seafood spaghetti, which he said was fabulous and full of different seafood and to top it off we shared the tiramisu w

We always enjoy our visits to Basilico! Our dinners tonight were beyond delicious! And, Valaria works a busy room like no other; she is always there for you! The food and service are superior!!

8/10Our waitress was brilliant- running the entire restaurant on her own with a smile. Pasta dishes were very good but the seafood risotto was very salty.

We had a late lunch at Basilico this week during our visit to the town of Loule (great artisan market on Saturdays). Valeria greeted us warmly at the door and handed us our menus. We ordered 2 starters, bruschetta with goat cheese, and a dish of assorted fried “gems”, mini arancini and stuffed olives. Both were delicious. All three of us ordered different pasta dishes, pumpkin ravioli with sage, pasta Putanesca and gnocchi. The pasta dishes were all excellent, perfectly cooked and sauced, but the gnocchi were exceptional. Some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The sides were good too, sautéed spinach and a red cabbage salad that was a very refreshing addition to our meal. The tiramisu dessert was light as a feather and mouth watering. Needless to say, we did not leave hungry. There is no pizza on the menu—there is pizza across the street. But if you are looking for the true Italian food experience, it’s here at Basilico. The owners are Italian and it shows.

Amazing Italian Dining Experience! I recently dined at Basilico Trattoria Italiana, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff set the perfect tone for the evening. The food was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and authentically Italian. We started with the bruschetta, which had the perfect balance of crispy bread and fresh tomatoes. For the main course, the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection, and the rich, savory sauces were full of depth. The tiramisu for dessert was the best I’ve ever had—light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made great recommendations. The wine selection was impressive, perfectly complementing the meal. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, Basilico Trattoria Italiana is a must-visit. I can't wait to return!

8.5/10Food always tastes good. Lasagne arrived not hot enough. (also happened on a prior visit) Don't understand it because when I make lasagne always comes out piping hot. Perhaps left on the pass for too long. Could do with more heating inside during the winter months. A shame because I would like to give a 10.

10/10Went here for dinner Tues & back for lunch Sat as so spoilt for choice on the menu. The goat's cheese bruschetta was superb as were the risottos, meatballs & seafood spaghetti. 10/10Basilico is an absolutely lovely little restaurant in Loulé, that was just a block from our hotel. It stands out with it's clean, modern exterior. Inside, it's a cozy, happy place, that feels very welcoming. But, the food! The food is just fantastic!! We have vegans in our family, and vegans who need gluten-free food, as well as meat eaters. Basilico had delicious food for all of us!! The gluten-free pasta was the best any of us had ever eaten, and the mushroom risotto was indescribably delicious! A joy. They have comforting soups and their bread is amazing!! Their lasagna is fabulous! We can't stop thinking about when we can go back! (And, we've been there 3 times in a week!) This is a must-try restaurant that will make your dining experience unforgettable.
