we have been coming here for 4 years now, never disappointed. they update their menu often. we always love their refined approach to cooking, the ambience and most of all the great service from Erik and the new staff Marsela. today we went for my husband's birthday. everything was delicious and wonderful. we'll be back again!

What a great find! It’s a must visit while in Trieste. The food was so, so good from the welcome appetizer and a flute of sparkling wine to a wonderful dessert of pistachio tiramisu. We were greeted warmly and served impeccably. Definitely recommend.

10/10Every dish was delicious! The atmosphere was warm and cozy. We loved everything, but only the pace of things - it took way too long (for a place called Bistro) for the main course to arrive. And the waiter forgot the beer we asked for. But still we liked the place very much and we do recommend it

10/10We had a very special anniversary and wanted to celebrate in a restaurant with lots of atmosphere. I did a lot of research and finally discovered Bistro 51. It didn't disappoint at all. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner.

9/10Nice restaurant. Ambience was great. Service was perfect and the time between dishes was excellent. Unfortunately the food was just ok. The steak and the pork we're well cooked but the dishes were very bland and not much taste to anything. It's a pity as this could be a lovely restaurant

10/10we are the regular at this place now since we first went more than a year ago. the cooking here is non-traditional, and it is hardly "italian" per se. that is why we love coming here. the menu has been updated and expanded a little. the cooking is inventive, modern and fusion. presentation and service (by irik ($14)) are always the best! even if sometimes a new dish does not strike 5 for my personal pallet this is always a 5 star place for us. in the summer, we do not and cannot go any where as most places in this town do not turn on their a/c, and sitting outside in the middle of heatwave is not how i want to spend my time or money! bistro 51 is one of the few places that have great comfortable a/c, always smells and looks great! we would come here and eat when it is 100 F outside and smells of dog urine and poop every where in the city! for people who complain about its portion size or "out of way" while it is literally next to il rossetti, i say to you "there is always MCD on via coral italia!" $15$16$17$18$19$20$21$22$23$24$25$26

10/10It was great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main squares and sit down to wonderful meal, delightfully served. Just perfect. The "red sea" fish was a new and interesting flavour, my partner said the pork was so tender.

10/10We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and we decided to try it out.. It is located in a much more quiet area of the city but not too far to walk from the main areas. We had a wonderful welcome appetizer and a farewell grappa after our meal. The food was excellent and we enjoyed every moment of the meal, from the fresh bread to the main course and dessert. The prices were extremely affordable for 2 persons as well! I would highly recommend Bistro 51 to anyone visiting Trieste ????????

10/10it is our favorite sit down restaurant in the whole city and one of our favorites in the whole world and i have traveled around the world in-style extensively for the past 20 years! it is modern, chic, clean, makes sumptuous, well presented dishes that are different from the rest and unique for italy. service is always tentative, professional. one of the biggest challenges i have reg living in trieste for the summer months is that no one seems to have or is willing to turn on their a/c even in the current heat wave. such stinginess makes dining a miserable experience. but bistro 51 is not one of them - it has great effective a/c, and it always plays soft quiet music that improves the mood but stays in the background so that you can have relaxing and intimate conversations with your dining mate. also a rarity in this town, it always offers complimentary sampling of a small hors d'oeuvres, a glass of Prosecco. our regular waiter Eddie not only remembers us, he also offers complimentary espresso to my husband. all in all, a super place to dine in!

+1This is a super charming little spot that is a little off the beaten path, but it's more than worth your time.! We tried 4 dishes and really enjoyed them all, plus, they offered a very tasty amuse. The service was outstanding; attentive, but not intrusive.
