We loved this restaurant- a worthy offshoot of its "mother" La Belle Étoile. A warm and chirpy welcome which continued despite a full restaurant and a party of 20. The food is divine! There's a great value Daily menu of 3 courses for €32 and if you book via Fork you get 20% off à La cart dishes. There's a lovely terrace and the interior has a nice ambience too. We'll be back!

We received a very warm welcome from friendly staff. The menu gave us plenty of choice and the food was well priced and most importantly was delicious. Service was prompt but unhurried. The terrace with great sea views is a really lovely setting. We plan to return if time permits on our short visit to Villefranche.

The food was fine—nothing memorable, but well prepared. The service was practically non-existent. Our aperitifs, while ordered first, arrived after the entree. A glass of wine ordered during our meal was completely forgotten. One of us has to get up and track down the staff who were all congregated around the bar discussing their weekend plans. We had to do the same to get our check, even though we ended up being the last customers there and the staff clear.y wanted to leave, we couldn’t get their attention to request the check. While the chef did come by and ask about our meal, which was a nice touch, one of our party commented that it was like some of the regular bar customers were lending a hand while the professional staff took an evening-long break. As we paid, we mentioned that we had been to the exquisitely run Belle Etoile the night before. The staff was proud to claim their sister restaurant, but we were disappointed that the spirit of service did not translate.

The romantic atmosphere, the beautiful terrasse and a nice servant was a good start, but the chef has to improve. We ordered two French Rib-eye steaks (medium cooked) which was so chewy, tough and fuld of tendons. We were offered chicken instead, but refused as we waited 1 hour for the steaks. We paid the wine and left very disappointed.

A decent wine list and a relatively short menu of traditional bistro fare with a twist made dinner here very enjoyable. Portions are generous and quality very good indeed. This is home-made food, not prepared and therefore good value for money.

While along the Côte d’Azur, we ate at many fine restaurants, several Michelin-starred. Many did not live up to the hype or price. This little gem is unpretentious, but serves up delicious food. For a fancier dinner, try their sister restaurant ‘La Belle Etoile’, also located in the old town of Villefranche. Both are excellent (and English-friendly, if that concerns you)!

Wonderful place with terrace and a view on the upper streets of ville-franche, the kind of both chill and elegant atmosphere we were looking for. The food was incredibly delicious and all home-made and the staff was also super nice. I don’t think you can find better quality food with such good prices around here. Super recommended to any tourist or local who comes by!

We did a little reconnaissance before booking early evening and said hello to the head chef who was opening up. He asked where we’d come from and promptly showed us proudly a picture of his Yorkshire puddings he recently made. As two Yorkshire lasses we knew this was the place! Away from the tourist traps, we sat on a wonderful terrace overlooking the bay and ate ‘on point’ food. Fish to die for. A beautiful end to a fabulous holiday on the coast. Compliments to the chef who I’m frankly jealously fuming with, because how on earth did he make Yorkshire’s better than my Nana’s first time?

Great service in quaint courtyard for a late dinner. Duck was awesome and my wife loved the crispy Salmon.

The food was good but I found the service to be on edge and the fork advertises a Set Menu that doesn't exist. It was really annoying to choose the restaurant based on this advertisement, then show up to find out it doesn't exist.

Great setting on a comfortable deck that views the water. Food was excellent and Tamara was the best. Overall excellent experience - the smallest of details were well attended to. Really felt like an important guest. Definitely go back and also go to Bella Etoile!

Delightful! Manuel and his team were so welcoming…and so patient with our dreadful French. The simple dishes were delicious and the outdoor terrace was lovely. We will definitely go again.

We had a wonderful lunch at this cute little bistro on their beautiful terrace with views of the harbor. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and the food was flavorful and well presented. We will definitely return!

Before going to Bistro de L'Etoile, I did not know it existed. I found it on Google and booked it for my wife's birthday. It was a fantastic experience! They knew we were coming and carried out my wishes exactly. We were very lucky because our visit coincided with stunning weather and a marvelous jazz band giving a fabulous concert for the diners during the lunch. Food was excellent and service really great. I have to admit, when I see these critiques about restaurants, I think they write them for themselves. THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE. Please go and visit this unpretentious restaurant. They deserve to be full every day of the year. WELL DONE!!!
