It was a rainy December night, a Tuesday. No one was in the restaurant when we arrived and no one else came in after us so we were alone in the restaurant. I am always wary of eating at an empty restaurant and did not expect very much. It turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Firenze. Everything was perfect, from the pacchero to the Vitelli tonnato to the fennel/orange salad to the chocolate mousse dessert. Everything was absolutely perfect. The server and the chef were very friendly young men who made us feel completely pampered. We are definitely going back, and soon.

The food was spectacular, fine dining but with a hearty twist of authentic Italian food. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and there was soothing jazz playing. The staff are excellent - very attentive and quick. Highly recommend!

Small Italian bistro just a short walk from the Pitti Palace. Our guide had recommended this restaurant so we booked a dinner reservation and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Both the food and service were excellent!

A small, intimate restaurant in Santa Spirito serving Tuscan classics. We had their delicious Florentine steak which was cooked perfectly and just melted in your mouth. Can’t understand why so many stand in an endless line at nearby Gustapizza when they can walk just 100 yards and, with no waiting, enjoy this terrific little gem. Highly recommended.

Typical Trattoria seating, very intimate and across the river from the tourist hustle and bustle. I had the Guancia, braised pork cheeks in a hearty red wine sauce. One cheek was excellent succulent and fork tender, the other was tough. My date ordered the sliced veal with a peppercorn tuna sauce. We lost something in the translation as it was deli sliced thin served cold as was the sauce. Would not order again. The dessert was excellent and the waiter gave us a choice of local digestifs.

Excellent cuisine! The dishes were delicious and the combinations of ingredients very surprising. We enjoyed the cocktails prepared with much care, and the wine was fantastic. The service is top, the perfect mix of hospitality, knowledge to make recommendations and space left for privacy. We will definitely return!

Great atmosphere, loved the music. server was most helpful in selecting the right wine. dinner was a true experience. I was say rustic Italian cooking - we had rabbit and pork cheek ( guanciale) bother in different rich sauces. What a treat !

Bistro Monaconero is a fabulous restaurant we stumbled upon while wandering the streets of Florence, and we were delighted! The service is superb, the presentation and flavors excellent… and a calming atmosphere makes Monaconero our favorite place to escape from the busy old town of Firenze. Our chosen charcuterie board for our starter was artistically created with the finest of fresh ingredients, and the toasted pine nuts paired with blue cheese and pair on toasted bread was wonderful! Highly recommend the salad with walnuts and burrata, as well as tiramisu! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem- Our best dinner in Florence! We will certainly return!

The staff was very friendly. The food was fantastic!! we ordered several plates to share to try many things and they were all very very good!!! The antipasto of cold cuts, cheeses with honey and sun-dried tomatoes was amazing, as the rest of of the meal, specially the second courses were very good.

Everything from the food, to the charming restaurant, to the amazing service…we had a wonderful evening. This place is a gem and a find. Definitely our best meal in Florence (and we had quite a few good meals). Please try this place and support some really kind people who make great food.

Such a quaint place! It's a little off the beaten path but worth looking for. It's down a small street in front of Pitti Palace. The negroni was made from spirits crafted in Siena and was delicious. we had a crustone appetizer, wild boar ragu, mushroom/truffle tortelli and a bottle of chianti. Everything was yum! my personal preference would probably be to have had a ricotta or sausage based filling in the tortelli (vs potato), but it was still delicious. We would definitely come here again.

we noticed the restaurant as we were walking by and checked out the menu. delighted by the number of vegetarian/vegan dishes on the menu, we made a dinner reservation—so glad we did! of the four dishes we ordered, three were vegan, one was vegetarian (it had cheese). all were delicious, the service was outstanding, the ambiance is lovely! we are already planning to return.

We dined at Bistrot Monaconero in Florence, and it was an unforgettable experience. The evening began with inspiring cocktails—particularly the carbon lemonade with Tuscan gin, a refreshing and innovative start. Their original take on the Negroni was equally impressive, a creative twist on a Florentine classic. The dinner that followed was extraordinary. Each dish highlighted how local fresh ingredients can be composed into the most delicious meals. The flavors were vibrant, the service impeccable, and every bite reflected the chef's dedication to quality and culinary artistry. The atmosphere was great, enhanced by a beautiful decor and a relaxing soundtrack. Restaurant Monaconero is a must-visit in Florence for anyone who appreciates fine dining, inventive cocktails, and superb Tuscan wine. The combination of exceptional drinks, superb food, and a welcoming ambiance makes it a standout destination we can only highly recommend. For sure we will be back.
