9/10We had made a reservation for effectively 13 people since they were one of the very few places in Obidos where that seemed possible, and they were extremely accommodating. They offered to have us pre-order our meals so that we could have a smooth experience, and it was incredible smooth. We practically got starters alongside our drink orders, and main courses came soon thereafter. It probably helped that we chose a 7pm time, but still: even for the folks who had to order live they were relatively quick to bring out their food and everyone enjoyed the food! Being of Indian descent I was a little disappointed in the flavor of the Madras curry, but the seafood in it was cooked very well and the literary salad (which has cured meat and apple) and the shrimp sliders were excellent. The brownie dessert was widely enjoyed, as well.

5/10The food was way under cooked. I had fish with jasmine rice and the rice was raw. Our friend had risotto, which was also raw. The octopus that my wife had was the only one that was good. The server got our other friend his steak knife real late after serving the food. For all the money it costs, this was not a nice experience. We have see better food and service in other restaurants.

6.5/10Nice space to dine in with books obviously surrounding a library/club vibe with gentle jazz genre music. Myself and the leader of the opposition chose beer and a glass of house white while perusing the menu. My beer served ice cold in a glass taken from the freezer - nice. I ordered Tuna Tataki with smashed potatoes the opposition ordered mushroom risotto both were delivered 10 minutes later. The Tuna was delicious no complaints there but the risotto rice was very undercooked. Nobody came to the table to ask how the meals were and it was only when they came to take plates we were able to complain. The young man looked like he did not know what to do about a complaint asked if we wanted another one but we declined as we did not really have time. We did order dessert Fruit salad (you can’t muck that up) and pavlova which was great. When we got the bill €80 the offending risotto was on there and no reduction We left but note please check with diner’s shortly after serving dishes.

7/10The ambiance was very nice. Sadly the service did not match the four stars of the restaurant. Neither did the food. Some of the personnel (we had several people serving us) were not very welcoming and attentive as one should expect in such a place; and we had to ask for the desert a couple of times before we got it. The fish was fine and juicy but the rice they served to it was boring and was tasting of nothing except from cilantro. No vegetables were served to it. The cheeses we got to begin with, were good but not local (for the most). The wine was very good. The price - service - food relationship did not entirely match. We got better service, better food to better prices elsewhere.

What a delight to dine in a room full of books! We both had vegetarian dishes, and they were excellent. The feijoada was quite tasty, and could easily have fed two people. The servers were wonderfully kind and made us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend.

This was somewhat disappointing. While the atmosphere was pleasant and the mushroom tart appetizers were delicious, the cod fish and filet mignon were rather average with the fish being too salty and the steak being a bit overcooked. Then during dinner one of the servers was spraying cleaner on tables nearby which filled the air with a very unpleasant odor. Also the limited Wines By The Glass is odd in portugal.

10/10A great gem in an amazing setting, with 80.000 books, waiting for your food would never get boring but it came to fast anyway. The food was 5-star and I would go back anytime. I would also laud the restaurant for its great music mix which made the experience even more fun. The staff was very friendly too.

Atmosphere, food and service are unbeatable here. We had great cheese on board starter and duck on rice as a main course, red Sangria as a drink. Service was nice and timely. Ambient music selection (jazz of Chad Baker and like) add romantic touch to perfectly cooked and assembled dishes. For desert we asked for melon (outside of the menu), and guys provided it no time. We travel thru Portugal for 8 days by now, had great restaurant experience in Lisboa, Algarve, Evora etc., but this place has bitten all great restaurants we had before!

The restaurant was pretty easy to find, though it can be challenging to park outside because of the small streets and high affluence of people at th village. The food came pretty fast and it was good, but not excellent. The meat and fries were flavoured but the rice of the fish was a little bit tasteless. Not a lot os options for drink other than wine and also for dessert. We ordered lemonade that was really expensive since it tasted like lemon with lots of water. Nonetheless the restaurant is beautiful and really quiet.

7/10It’s a beautiful setting but the food was very hit and miss. The mushroom pie was excellent, the salmon tartare (though confusing due to so many conflicting flavours) was tasty, but then things rapidly went downhill. The wild boar was tough as leather, and the salted cod dish was 50% canned olives and therefore inedible. The waiter confirmed from the chef that it wasn’t supposed to be like that; we got an apology but no refund on the dish. Staff were pleasant and friendly, though, and the wine selection was good.
