Nice restaurant but a bit cold. Given the problems with the Hepatitis outbreak and the effects on seafood, it would be helpful if restaurants told you up front what is not available (this was the case just about everywhere I dined which is quite frustrating). I did enjoy my meal though. Met the chef at the end who was great. I would have returned by as it was Easter could not get another booking.

Overall a great experience, relaxing lunch - 1 hour between arrival and first dish. The reason for limited stars on food is due to the maybe too experimental approach on the dishes, but I’ll explain: spaghetti with clams tasted of everything else but seafood, with an overpowering presence of pistachios and pesto, leaving us doubting it was with clams, if it weren’t for a few shells around the rim. Was it bad? No. Did it taste of seafood? No. Disappointing? Yes. Had the dish been on the menu as spaghetti with pesto and pistachios it would be perfect. Same goes for spaghetti with sea urchins, ruined by the overwhelming invasion of anchovies butter and liquorice flakes. What a shame though, since the quality of the ingredients is clearly great. The fried calamari and the dessert had a more ‘simple’ approach, offering a true authentic flavour, enhancing the chef’s ability to create without exaggerating. I’d go back for the more authentic ‘borbonic’ baccalà and the venison ragù.

This is the fifth time I've eaten at this restaurant this year. Usually it's a highlight of a visit to Naples. Unfortunately we chose the wrong night. It was the final of the football, and Naples were playing. All of Naples was on tenterhooks, snd and I think it affected the staff, service and quality of the food. Many dishes were great, as ever. But some weren't cooked with the usual care and precision. The service, usually so warm and attentive, was haphazard. Hopefully it was a one-off, a satisfactory experience only, on an evening when all of Naples lost the plot!

I had been to this restaurant in late 2023 and quite liked it. This time, the servers rushed my food: 25 minutes after I arrived I had eaten my first course and received my main. The scampi risotto was subpar: odd taste and rice undercooked. I won’t be going back.

The service was exceptional. The food was so exceptional that we had the chef come to the table to congratulate him on his wonderful food dishes and presentations.

Borbonika looks small from the outside, but the actual restaurant is below ground level with a lovely atmosphere. The food was very good, a step above standard Neapolitan fare--think "modern" spins on typical local dishes. However, the price certainly reflects the innovative menu. The portion sizes are also quite small by Neapolitan standards. Therefore, both my husband and I agree that the overall value is quite low. We ordered one antipasto (appetizer) and one primi (pasta course) per person, and we all left feeling a bit hungry (particularly the two men in our group!). Again, the food was quite good and unique--I think this would make a lovely special occasion restaurant to try the full tasting menu.

Borbonika is a true gem! the quality of the food is superb, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and professional and they were super prepared about coeliac disease (it was even possible to order the Frittura!) . Absolutely recommended, I will return there every time i'm back in Naples (i am from Naples but I live in the Netherlands)

We came for lunch on a road trip thru Napoli and it was well worth the detour. The service was so great and the food was incredible. They accommodated my gluten-free wife and daughter with extra care. I recommend the Spaghetti alla Nerano!!

This is one of the best restaurants in Naples regardless of price point! Wish we found it sooner. Quiet, calm and air conditioned with very attentive staff. The food was amazing!

Wonderful interface of Neapolitan traditional dishes presented with a flair. We each had the Genovese, succulent beef simmered with aromatic onions, warming on a rainy day. Creative desserts enhanced our dining experience. The restaurant is located 'down under' in a restored cavern.

Appetizers and starters "made with love", with excellent local wine on the side, we skipped the main dishes... Exceptional value for money, friendly staff, it "felt like home". :)

We really enjoyed the meal at this restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. Every dish we had was delicious especially the fried little fish which just melts in your mouth. The ambience is very intimate and secluded if you dine downstairs. There are some very interesting touches such as the industrial light fixtures with gauges and the small seating nooks where my daughters took a little nap before we started eating. This was truly a memorable dining experience and we are so happy we found this restaurant We thoroughly enjoyed all the food especially the desserts. Everything was excellent and well presented and the portions were very large as well. Even if you stay in another part of town it's worth a quick taxi ride over to this area as after dining it's a nice area to walk around. We look forward to coming back again and again.
