Start to finish the experience was exceptional. The restaurant is fancy without being 'stuffy' or pretentious. We had a lovely family dinner thanks to the kind host and wait staff. The menu was thoughtful and delicious - my favorite was the uni infused pasta. Gratzie mille xx

Exquisite wine menu with great champagne list while the food top notch. However the staff was the real star. So warming, helpful, attentive yet not overly. Besides congratulations we also have to say “Thank you”. Yes, the “however” was totally on purpose to emphasize the good to great.

+3I’m just waiting for them to get their second Michelin star! We were our honeymoon, and it was the most romantic and perfect experience. The staff was great and friendly. The food was out of this world, 10 out of 10! You must when you’re in Florence.

Well deserving of its Michelin star. The impressive details, elegant presentation, superb dish descriptions, attentive service, and food that awakens the senses, make this dining experience worth price splurge.

Food was ok but not Michelin star worthy. We often dine in Michelin restaurants and this was borderline one star. Among the poorest experience of all one stars we have been to in Europe and outside France where the standards for Michelin are a bit lower. We were the evening before at fratelli which was not a star but much better and innovative. Also the staff is not so good. It feels stiff upper lip and old fashioned (not in a good way). We were also welcomed very cold manner. They promised us a table on the terrace and did not deliver it. Inside the atmosphere is not so enjoyable. There are many places in Firenze with a terrace and ambience much better than this one. So this is a recommendation by Michelin not to follow.

An excellent experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious — this place truly deserves its Michelin star. Service was top-tier: kind, attentive, and thoughtful. I celebrated my birthday here this year, and they made it special with a surprise dessert and one of the best tables by the window, overlooking Florence and the river — even though we booked last minute. That gesture meant a lot. We chose the chef’s 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was exquisite, but honestly… so much food! Before the actual courses, we already had five amuse-bouches, bread, and some extras. By the fifth course (the meat), I was full — and I usually eat a lot! The meat was incredible, but finishing it was a challenge 😅 Bonus points for the olive oil — they introduced it during the meal, and I loved it so much I bought a bottle to take home. Overall, unforgettable night. Would absolutely recommend.

The service at Borgo San Jacobo was singularly the worst I have ever experienced in my life. At the end of an enjoyable meal, my wife and I were reminiscing and laughing — and the server had the gaul to tell us to be quiet. I have been dining at the world’s finest restaurants for over 25 years and have never experienced such outlandish behavior. The restaurant clearly cares more about some perceived image of itself than it cares about its patrons having an enjoyable experience.

When we first walked into the beautiful restaurant we were warmly greeted by the host who made us feel like we made his day in showing up for our reservation. When we sat down we thought we just wanted was to order a la carte, but when we saw the menu we decided there were too many delicious sounding dishes and had to order a tasting menu. We were not disappointed. Every dish was amazing and kept getting better as the menu progressed. The service was outstanding... attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We cannot say enough good things about the restaurant. When the host brought the chef to our table we told him in our very rudimentary Italian that everything was perfetto and that was an understatement. We can't wait to come back!

Amazing experience overall, servers were very attentive and went above and beyond for us. Food and wine selection was fantastic. Atmosphere couldn’t be more perfect. I will definitely be coming back and recommend everyone comes here. Grazie mille for making our night so special.

+4Every aspect of our dining experience was absolutely amazing! Our server, I believe was Souiziana (sorry if the spelling is incorrect!) was hands down one of the BEST servers we’ve experienced in all our years of fine dining! Her explanation of the dishes was not only insightful, but passionate! We did the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings and the Chef did not disappoint! The fusilli was not only delicious, but surprising! The sauce that was on the dish was so complex and interesting! Our server took time to not only chat with us, but also give “local” insight to everything from sightseeing to describing the differences in the olive oils..and letting us sample different ones! The Maialino Da Latte was definitely both of our favorites! Such an inspired twist on a porchetta!

+8Service was impeccable. The food was well presented. The beef tartar was exquisite. Even though we picked the 5 course prefixed menu (the Experience) there were 4 pre-starters, including delicious rolls, and a pre and post dessert , dessert. This made it too much. Our least favorite course was the pasta with seafood - probably could do without it - as pasta was filling and it was too fishy. Definitely recommend this restaurant as a great experience.

First the excellent: Service and presentation of food. Then... The space is nice, but tiny details, like the air vents are dirty and table was rocking a bit. And finally, the quality of food, and preparation were excellent, but for me the menu did not have harmony and a WOW flavor factor. was missing. And they offer two preset menus. Both with 5 courses. We wanted one of each but were told that that was not possible. However, it was possible for one of us to have "the menu" and other to order a la carte. We were dissapointed that we could not taste both menus. Should say so on the website.

Fussiness over the top. Rapid fire English difficult to follow. Meat tender but fatty. Food highly salted. Olive oil butter! Drink options universally expensive and as a result, not attractive. Staff tried hard but clearly had been poorly trained. Seating NOT as requested with view of the Ponte Vecchio. Seated at the top of a long stair- concern for anybody with ambulatory challenges. Lovely young maitre de very helpful calling a taxi.

Really amazing, tasty and imaginative food, with excellent ingredients. I had the standard tasting menu with regular wine pairing, the cadence of food delivery was perfect (never too rushed nor too slow), and the sommelier and serving staff were all delightful (with perfect English!). Amazing place for any special occasion.

Borgo San Jacopo made my wife’s birthday unforgettable, with impeccable service, outstanding food, and an amazing view.
