7/10Starting with a positive - the staff looking after us were wonderful and very apologetic. The first issue was that I unfortunately discovered a long dark hair in my food as I was eating it. Completely embedded in the Rocket salad on the beef carpaccio plate. The food plate was immediately replaced but really this is not acceptable . The second issue was my steak. The reason we went here was because it is a steak restaurant so we expected the best. My “loin” of beef was inedible. It was anaemic, tough and tasteless. So much so that the duty manager informed me that the kitchen agreed with my feedback. Which begs the question - why serve it to me in the first place? They did not charge me for it as I couldn’t eat any of it. My husband loved his Rib Eye steak. My overall comment would be - focus less on the pomp and ceremony of presenting steak knife options and different salt options and focus instead on getting the food right and making sure that hygiene hats are always used

We picked this restaurant because I was in the mood for steak and it had a good review on the Fork and Google. Rightly so, it was a very nice restaurant with excellent service and good food. We started with roasted pumpkin soup with my wife loved and progressed to very good steaks. We finished with cinnamon pineapple with again my wife loved. For myself I will focus on the quality of the beef steak and offering of special salts and choose your own knife based on the done temperatures of the steak. Absolutely fantastic and a reasonable price. We also had good cocktails and a bottle of wine with dinner. Again very good. The theme seemed to be dark and cozy. Everything was black even the bath and toilet paper. We both highly recommend BYF.

The steakhouse serves excellent beefsteak, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The meat quality is impressive, tender and well-seasoned. Overall, a very satisfying dining experience.

The restaurant is really charming, the staff were lovely, smiling, good advice I believe the waiter name was João. The starter “air bread” was devine almost my favorite part of the dinner. The steak was perfectly cooked and very tender. Would definitely recommend if you are a meat lover! Thank you for an amazing dinner

7.5/10Restaurant expanded but the quality of the meat was better before. Meat arrived coldish on the table (not actually cold but also not very hot, which is unnaceptable considering the price point of this restaurant.) It places itself as premium with premium prices, premium ambience and premium service now is just lacking the premium food. Food is not bad, but just ok.

10/10This place is absolutely amazing! So much so me and my family ended up going twice. I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating and the food is absolutely wonderful. If you want an amazing steakhouse to go to, please visit BYF steakhouse.

I had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The place was extremely noisy and overcrowded, making it nearly impossible to enjoy the meal. The staff strongly recommended certain appetizers in a way that felt more like pressure than a suggestion, which was uncomfortable. While the food itself was decent, the chaotic atmosphere made it difficult to relax, and I ended up leaving before finishing my meal. It would have been much better if the staff had managed the large group of guests more effectively. Given the overall experience, I have no intention of returning.

10/10This steakhouse is no joke. Not only does this restaurant sell food that is out of this world, but it also sells you an amazing experience where the ambiance of the place really compliments the quality of the food. As a first timer in Portugal and randomly have looked for a steakhouse and selecting a random one from a Google search, this is by far the best steakhouse I have ever been to. Really recommend this place. (This is one of those places where if you order medium rare, YOU WILL get medium rare).

6.5/10The host/manager was unhelpful and disinterested, giving the impression we weren’t welcome. We arrived in two groups—he ignored the second entirely. Our table was crammed against a wall; when I asked to shift it slightly (the next table had over 2 feet of space), he refused—then relented only after I began moving it myself. A bread dish came with fewer pieces than guests. One guest had food spilled on her during service, and the manager offered no apology—another staff member stepped in first. No goodwill gesture was made, and the item remained on the bill. When she brought it up on exit, his English suddenly diminished to “I’m sorry.” Every interaction with him felt strained, and the rest of the staff were lovely and seemed genuinely uncomfortable around him. The food was nice, but the host/manager's attitude soured the evening. We won’t be returning.
