Note: went for lunch with two American friends. Ski lodge meets speak easy meets funky spot meets old-school cool. First, the service sets this place apart. Sweet, humorous, attentive and kind staff. Delicious food. Simple, done so right! I loved the vibe. I’ll definitely be going back. Fixed menu is totally worth it! A fun and funky spot.

Classic old school dining experiences. One of the most tender steaks I have ever had. Everything was well prepared and of high quality. Well worth coming to while in Lisbon and looking for a great steak.

Fantastic ambience and super cozy interior (very unusual for Lisbon), good service, great lunch set menu for 25€. Place is tiny, so there’s not enough place. Also theme with „ring to enter” destroys the experience as every few minutes the doorbell rings and people queue in the middle of the restaurant waiting for the table to be assigned. Food wise, their legendary steak sauce is overrated but overall food quality and starters are very good.

Francisco was fantastic with us. Just the right amount of attentiveness and leaving us alone to enjoy ourselves. Gave a great wine recommendation too. Food was delicious, the traditional São Bento steak is a must!

A great experience where you can travel back in time and probably the best steak I had in Lisbon. Wonderful ambience, professional service and high quality of the meat. The tartare is delicious as it is the carpaccio. No surprise this is one of the top restaurants in Lisbon!

Sure, here's a revised version of your text: --- What an amazing place! Upon arrival, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. We started with the carpaccio and the steak tartare. Both appetizers were well-seasoned, but we particularly enjoyed the carpaccio — it was incredibly fresh and simply perfect. For the main course, we opted for the signature steak. It was good, but we had slightly higher expectations. We found the dish to be a bit simpler than anticipated. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in this historic space in Lisbon. We’re definitely looking forward to returning to try more dishes in the future.

This is a beautiful restaurant. You feel like you’re a character on the set of a play. Theatre is afoot. You’re lead to your tiny table by a dapper, elderly man, and by the time you sit down, you’ve left contemporary Lisbon behind, and you’re now in the 1930s. The service is impeccable. The wine list is impressive. The steak, I’m very sad to say (because this is a steak restaurant) is terrible. They use that silly restaurant technique of perforating the steak in the belief that it cooks it through, when all this does is cause the juices to run out sooner while it rests. My steak was a good cut of meat, but dull and woolly and chewy, even as a medium rare. Ah well. It may have been worth the experience, perhaps — once.
