Selected the Weekday Formule Midi for 14.80 Euros; with choice of a salty cake, a sweet cake and coffee or tea, accompanied by a mixed greens salad. The salad had a variety of vegetables, was ample in serving, and very fresh. Came with a nice balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Ordered the Chicken with Onions and Reblochon salty cake. It was a light batter cake mixed in diced chicken bits. The cake texture was almost like a country bread (my preference, as I would not want it to be as densed as a pound cake, considering the other heavy ingredients). The onions and Reblochon were just the right amount to not be overpowering. Had the Coconut-Sweet Potatoes for the sweet cake. Densed pound cake (as it should be) with a light coconut flavor (I would have liked a stronger flavor, and perhaps some dessicated coconut mixed in with the cake batter), topped with sweet potatoes mash/puree. The cake was not overly sweet and the two main ingredients go well together.

This bakery's serves gateau gourmand (similar to pound cake) in multitude of flavours, from standard recipes (carrot cake, citron, chocolate noisette) to interesting combinations such as yuzu-kiwi-vanilla(sweet) and olives-bell peppers-mozzarella (salty). I tried the mint-parsley-meringue. The cake was moist, with a mild mint taste (I would have preferred stronger), a hint of parsley (refreshing) and topped with sweet meringue. I found the combination of a sweet cake with sweet meringue a little too much. Maybe something unsweetened? It was enjoyable, and on the next visit, I will also consider their salty options.
