Food and the place were great. Pizza was awesome. Service was terrible. Waitress had no interest in helping. Couldn’t even get the bill. Had to go ask for it.

10/10We first visited Calhou six years ago and couldn’t wait to go this time when we returned to Lagos. The food was just as good six years on. We had the Octopus cataplana for two. It was extremely tasty and we would highly recommend it.

10/10The welcome we get, even after months, is so welcoming. The choice between portuguese dishes or pizza provides variety for a family. Always full in the evening, so recomend book in advance.

8/10Lovely atmosphere good service most of the food was very good - the cheesy garlic bread, the pizza, the squid were great The steak in peppercorn sauce was not good 3 peppercorns in curdled tasteless sauce. Not sure how the steak coked but it was tasteless and had a lot of sinew in it. No one enquired how the meals were or asked why the steak wasn’t eaten. Such a shame.

10/10We found this restaurant early in our holiday and just kept coming back. The food is excellent. The service is quiet and discreet but perfectly timed. The pizza oven in the dining area adds a real touch of action and ambience the whole place. The place is just so well run. Highly recommended.

The traditional Portuguese food was spectacular. We went three times during the course of a week and rotated amongst ordering the salmon, dorada, and sea bass entrees. The garlic bread (without cheese) was our go-to appetizer. We also highly recommend the Allo vino verde.

10/10Excellent as always. Great food and service. Would highly recommend to anyone. Have never had a bad meal, whether traditional Portuguese food, or pizza. The salmon is probably my favourite👍

10/10Excellent service, great ambiance, and even better pizzas! We each ordered a different pizza and loved them all. Much larger pizza than we expected so leftovers….yummmm! Who knew you could have pistachios on pizza - what a taste experience. Highly highly recommend this fabulous restaurant. We will be back!

6/10A party of 4 visited on 15 March. The staff and ambience were very good. Three of the party ordered Portuguese steak. The meat was so tough we sent all 3 back. My husband didn’t want his replacing so mine and a friend got a replacement which unfortunately was just as bad. However the staff packaged it for us and we took it home for the dogs. When the bill came they tried to charge my husband for his which he refused to pay for. They reluctantly took it off the bill. Very disappointing night

Muito obrigada pela vossa avaliação Quando nos informaram que o bife não era filet levei o cliente a cozinha para verificar a qualidade do mesmo da qual ele concordou mandei fazer 2 bifes porque os outros foi dito pela senhora que comenta que estava bom, o senhor do terceiro bife estava satisfeito e mandou não fazer nenhum porque estava satisfeito. Tudo isto para dizer que não houve takeaway nenhum Clientes gostam de explorar quem trabalha, pena terem duas caras. Se não sabem beber bebam água. Portugal é muito bom , mas temos de começar a deixar de ser serviçais. O vosso dinheiro é igual ao nosso. O que nos vale é que a maioria dos nossos clientes residentes são excelentes pessoas.

10/10I love this little restaurant. Very rustic/mediterranean in style and atmosphere. Friendly, attentive staff and the food was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked steaks and lamb chops. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I will keep going back.

10/10We loved this restaurant so much that we went 2x during our 3 night stay in Lagos . First night we had the sea bream and black pig loin - both amazing !! As was the algarve almond torte. We had to go back and try the pizza which was another fantastic meal. This place is not to be missed!!

10/10I can’t tell you how much I loved this place … we ended up eating there twice! The food was incredible and the wonderful people made sure our son had little coloring and games to play while we all had the most amazing meal of our trip! We felt like family while also having a true, local dining experience! 100/10

I went there because the reviews, but when I received my order I was very disappointed. First, I asked for entrees, bread and sardines spread. I received industrialized sardines spread. It was a first for me after two weeks going to restaurants in Portugal. After, I ordered codfish and calamari. Codfish was half bones and calamari was swimming in oil.

5/10Calhou wasn’t terrible… but it wasn’t great either. Some of the meats were cooked well but the vegetables had no seasoning. We were excited to try their wood fired pizza, but even that was a little undercooked. We also waited a veryyyyy long time to get our check even after asking for it… although they were very busy, so that’s forgivable. In any case, probably wouldn’t go back.

9/10A lovely evening, great quality food and service. Initially felt a bit rushed as we arrived at a busy time but this settled. Would have liked a liitle cake in addition to the dessert we ordered for birthday candle sing song. We will return for sure
