10/10My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Calva and our experience was exceptional. The staff at Calva deserves special commendation for their impeccable service and genuine friendliness. It's clear that the team takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for their guests. What truly stood out and added a personal touch to our evening was when the chef himself presented some of the dishes. It not only showcased the passion behind the creations, but also made us feel like valued guests in their culinary journey. At the end of the evening the chef personally saw us out and we could exchange a few friendly words. This unexpected touch added an extra layer of warmth to an already fantastic dining experience.

10/10Calva is a truly unique dining experience and one that needs to be experienced with an open mind and at least three hours. The menu is driven by what's fresh, in season and available, and may not be one that's duplicated more than once. The chef and his staff were all wonderful and very involved in what was one of the best dining experiences any of us have ever had anywhere.

10/10We went to calva the second time, this time after the renovation. Floor, doors toilets en some adaption in the kitchen have been done. Calva is situated in a nice street in Nootdorp next to the church, there is free parking on the other side of a small bridge. When you reserve the chef de cuisine will call you upfront asking for allergies or wishes. Upon arrival you are warmly welcomed by the lady of the house with a bright Smile. The menu incl starters are excellent quality and taste. There is a good collection of wines. Although the restaurant was fully booked it's not noisy and there is enough space between the tables. In our opinion this restaurant belongs to the top ones and it's definitely worth a visit. We will come back for sure.

10/10Located next to the village church this cosy restaurant is perfect for a special night out. Fantastic food ( the foie gras is the signature dish - a must!) Attentive and nice staff. The chef himself will serve a course, the kitchen is open.

10/10In the year we've spent in the Netherlands, this was, hands down, our favourite culinary experience. Just take the Chef up on his surprise menu and you won't be disappointed. Dietary restrictions aren't a problem, with the fully vegetarian set being just as great as the regular one.

8.5/10The service in this restaurant is exceptional, certainly against Dutch standards. Good wines, good explanation. Calva likes to use a surprise menu concept. Good food. Quite lite on the seasoning, this may be a small point of attention.

10/10This restaurant makes a real difference with all others in the area : it gather the quality and presentation of a gastronomic restaurant' and the atmosphere of a family owned place. I find super nice that chefs comes to our table , when they have time to explain in detailed the dish' and listen to our taste. The dessert was superb: a warm sticky toffee pudding, with yogurt iced foam and crunchy caramel rocks. For sure ,we will be back !
