Nothing to write home about. Limited menu.

Nice little restaurant in Dorsoduro region of Venice - next to a quiet small canal. Easy to book on the Fork. Food was standard Italian, with a limited choice. Good quality and presentation though, and good and hot (see photo). Service a little 'old-school' though in spite of my speaking good Italian. Waiter cleared up plates before we had all finished - not ideal, and we felt rather hurried at the end of the meal. Fair value for money, bearing in mind Venice is pretty pricey generally. Not sure I'd rush back....

Our experience may be the exception rather than the rule. We dined early at 5.30pm (a Wednesday evening in early February) and were the only diners that evening. The food was disappointing and grossly overpriced. My wife ordered duck and was presented with lamb chops - but this was then replaced with what was ordered in record time. We had better meals for half the price in other restaurants nearby.

we are always happy to go to Cantinone on our last night in Venice (25 years now). The food is not cheap but reliably good, even for vegetarians like us, and service attentive.

The restaurant is beautiful inside and with the inclement weather, sitting inside was the only option. The sound level was low and we could speak in normal tones and hear without difficulty. The food is always good and the service is attentive and friendly. If you speak Italian, French, or English, you’re in good hands. It’s a lovely spot for dinner with friends, as a couple, or a group.

Food was delicious. Wait staff was not friendly or kind. After they learned we reserved “on line” they gave us a table squished between two other tables - like the middle seat on an airplane!

Good food, good service. The wait staff was less proficient in English than at other establishments, but they managed to communicate and were very attentive.

We enjoyed a relaxed lunch here at the advice of a friend who has been multiple times. The food was very solid and the staff professional and friendly.

The food was really fantastic however for the price, the portions were very small. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the restaurant has a beautiful and peaceful setting.

Fantastic spot, relaxed vibe without missing out on that amazing Italian quality meal. Right on the canal as well so was a touch to watch the boats go past as we ate.

Quite extensive fish and meat menus at about average prices for Venice. Fisherman’s risotto was truly beautiful. Reasonably priced glasses of alcohol if you’re not too picky. Thoroughly lovely lunch in a quiet canal side restaurant close to the Acadamia.

I would highly suggest the chef eats the spinach with butter s/he fixes. This was without a doubt the most disgusting spinach and butter I have ever been served. I could say a lot more but I think the spinach review is enough. Too bad - used to be a favorite restaurant.

The food, service and ambiance was fantastic. We enjoyed a bottle Farina wine which was outstanding. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

Beautiful location. Excellent service. Food seems typical for Venice restaurants with some local specialties and generic Italian. Nothing too ambitious but good quality.

One of the best meals we’ve had in Venice in the last 10 years and we come every year. Service impeccable, food to die for and a wonderful atmosphere. Top marks all round.

Really unfriendly, expensive and far away from a good italian kitchen. One beer for 8 Euro and one Antipasti 25 Euro. I know, Venice is expensive, but this wasn‘t worth
