Little restaurant with too much table and people ( essentially tourist), air conditioning out of order so really really hot in September, food not so bad but expensive compared to the quality of the cuisine . Our neighbors and ourselves even laughed receiving the dessert banana con marmelade, try it you’ll understand … I advise to go listening Fado without going to this type of restaurant essentially designed for tourists and their money …

We had a wonderful evening last night on our first evening in Portugal The food and wine were excellent and the fado performance was outstanding and service was warm and efficient Highly recommend this restaurant

The food was great, the service was alright. We were unable to pay by credit card which was a disappointment considering the higher than usual price point and customers being less likely to have that much cash on them at any given time. The air conditioning was either weak or malfunctioning. It was quite hot at times, especially when the doors to outside were closed for performances. The performances were PHENOMENAL and the acoustics were great. I would still recommend this place despite the negative points.

Lovely ambience and food . Musicians were Amazing as well . Only thing I would ask to improve is to accept credit cards or let guests know to get cash instead of withdrawing from atm last min and getting charged high fees specially for out of country tourists

Wonderful place and amazing experience. The food was really good and the Fado incredible, magnificent singers in a beautiful intimate place in the center of Alfama. I really recommend it!!

It’s a terrific experience, very nice staff, average food if I’m honest but perfectly fine - but the FADO was fantastic and beautifully sung and played - the fado starts at 9.30pm so perhaps don’t get there too early but the place is very small and it has a lovely ambiance

This fabulous little restaurant was the best experience in a restaurant I have had in Lisbon! I was staying very close and heard the Fabo music every night....I had to go. Great service, great ambience, great food and fabulous music. If you want to experience true Portugal this is the place!

Enthusiastic staff. Great music; but organisation of service needs to improve so guests are not waiting to eat until music stops. Average food quality which is a pity for a set menu.

The food was tasty. Portions were of a medium size. Presentation was rustic and the starter selection intriguing. The overall service, ambience of the restaurant and the multiple singer Fado band was excellent.

Really great place to discover the Fado. Surface of the restaurant is ideal for this (intimate). Very nice performance of the 3 singers and 2 musicians playing between each meal. The menu was very good, but a bit light about the quantity. Very good welcome by the team all along the evening. It was a real pleasure to attend this event.. We warmly recommend it !!

What a fabulous evening. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food and service were both excellent. The Fado performances were also excellent and wonderful to be so close to the performers. Both the servers and the performers were very friendly and engaging. The fixed price dinner including the Fado is genius. Highly recommend. Please note: cash only

Very nice and romantic restaurant with live fado. You pay 50 euro per person for the menu including drinks. We had a great evening.

I'm Portuguese and wanted to show some friends from various countries a bit of our culture, mainly the Fado. Wonderful experience. Very intimate environment, great food, the staff was so nice, and the fado experience was very genuine. My friends were extremely happy and so was I. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was the find of our two-week trip to Spain and Portugal. The food (a fixed price menu) was delicious, and was expertly prepared. The dishes all were regional Portuguese dishes, which is exactly what we were looking for. The ambience was first rate—a small, intimate setting. And to top it off, the lights were lowered, and the owner and two others played (and sang) traditional Portuguese music! (And they were outstanding musicians.) All in all, a meal (and an experience) we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

Very nice ambiance, the staff is extremely nice, and the food is OK. However in Lisbon, where so many places have great food OK is just OK. But the ambiance and service are worth it.

What an amazing experience! One of the highlights of our stay in Portugal. Everyone at Canto do Poeta was incredibly kind, the singing almost brought us to tears and we loved the food. Would definitely recommend!

Wow what a wonderful find! Everything about this place was magical, from the intimate setting to the incredibly warm and personal attention and beautiful, simple local Portuguese fare. The fado was emotional, almost spiritual. It’s only been open four months which is why there aren’t many reviews , but this restaurant is really something special, and gives visitors to Lisbon a taste of genuine warm hospitality and culture.

Life changing fado experience, food, and wine to match the music. Could mot recommend to enough people. Small 10 table? restaurant with ambiance, traditional food, and great local music.

Outstanding - I almost cancelled worried this would be a tourist trap - and I am so glad I did not. The entire experience was forever memorable - the food outstanding (I wanted like 10 of those chicken croquettes w/ fava bean puree), the service perfect, and the Fado blew my mind - the musicians and vocalists all. The space is super-intimate and, imo, beautiful in its absolute simplicity. This is a new operation - only open for 4 months - do not confuse it with the old one on Google maps at this address (I told them they really need to fix that!).
