Creative, well prepared food, and very friendly, attentive and helpful wait staff. They were very helpful recommending dishes for my wife, who is celiac. Our finest meal in Palermo.

Service was very warm and attentive, could not have been better. All of our dishes were delicious and perfectly prepared. This is very fine dining for a very good price considering the excellent presentation and preparation. We are serious foodies and were quite pleased. We highly recommend.

The menu was a little short on meat lovers options. The fish and pasta options were good

This restaurant deserves 5 stars! It delivers in the quality of the food, the kindness of the staff, the ambiance of the interior, and the enjoyable background music. They have created a dining “experience” that few restaurants ever achieve. It has an intimate, cozy feeling. Be sure to make a reservation as it has limited seating. Truly one of the best.

We had a lovely and long evening. Chatting over a good dinner and a bottle of wine. The staff enjoyed that we enjoyed it. They were very welcoming. Artichoc something as a starter and an excellent pasta as a main. Tiramisu also much above average. The neighbourhood is nice. We passed unplanned a busy beer and dance café after dinner with local youth and no tourists and finished the evening there.

The attentive & friendly service from the staff and the quality of the food was exceptional. The staff explained various dishes for us and take pride in adding their own modern difference to the Sicilian traditional dishes. They also suggested Sicilian Prosecco & wine to suit our tastes. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there.

The service was excellent. The ambiance was nice, i enjoyed the music playing. Not much seafood for a restaurant that touts itself as a seafood restaurant. Mostly tuna. Wife had the tuna, which was overcooked as it was supposed to be seared and like sushi in the middle. Pasta dishes were good. Our waiter was very attentive. Great service.

After 4 days in palermo we found this little pearl! What a quality, so fresh, so pure. A little bit hidden, away from the tourist, amazing place!! So good we went back the next day! Service was perfect, finally a kind and polite person. Much appreciated

We walked past this restaurant yesterday afternoon, tucked away on a small street, and I was immediately drawn to the interior, which is simple but beautiful. When I looked up the restaurant online, the strong reviews quickly convinced me to make a reservation for tonight. I am so grateful that I did. Our meal at Carizzi D’Amuri was outstanding in terms of quality, taste and creativity. The value for money was excellent. Service was welcoming, gracious, and so knowledgeable about the food and wine. By the end of our meal, we knew why: the restaurant is operated by two brothers, natives of Sicily, one of whom is the chef and the other who is in charge of the dining room and bar. This also explains why the menu is inspired by Sicilian cuisine and flavors, and focuses on local ingredients. The wine list is all Sicilian wines. (Our wine was excellent.) You can feel the dedication and passion in the cooking and the service. If we were in Palermo tomorrow night, we would go back.

Amazing dinner! We loved the fried artichoke, veal tortellini, and red shrimp. Very unique approach to Sicilian food by two very kind brothers. They’ve had the said they wanted us to feel like we had been invited into their home and we did! Highly recommend!!

Where do I start? At the beginning then. We were greeted, in a welcoming fashion and we were excited to be here. The space is very lovely. But things changed quickly. In the middle of explaining the menu, the waiters eyes were diverted to the only other table with guests in the restaurant. Suddenly he says to my wife and I that he has to attend the other table because they were here first. Mind you this was in the middle of us ordering menu items. So okay, no big deal. Finally he comes back after placing the other tables order, about 10 minutes or so and he takes our order. We order three courses. I order an appetizer for the table and for the second course we both ordered pasta with cuttlefish ink - which my wife and I routinely order this dish in our dining life. For the main I had the veal and my wife ordered the sea bass. and we order drinks. The first course came out in short order and was okay but it was accompanied with a very loud phone ringing incessantly. Why this phone was not answered I have no idea. There were only at this time now four tables in the entire restaurant and the waiter and his assistant just stood at the bar and ignored the phone. (And this phone rang many dozens of times through out the next hour and many times maybe 6 or 7 separate times. My wife and I did laugh about this.) But we did not laugh about the pasta with cuttlefish ink. To say it was almost inedible would be an understatement. It was so salty and tasteless it was shocking. But we tried another bite and another thinking it was us but concluded it was not us. By the way the breadsticks were great and saved our pallet! Then the main course came. My veal was so tough that it became a running joke that I was accidentally served shoe leather. I did ask for it medium but believe me when I say that it was so over cooked and tough that I’ve never experienced this before. My wife’s sea bass? She said it was ok but the sauce, as she described it was a base of salt and corn starch with no flavor whatsoever. I tried it myself. (And remember the phone hasn’t stopped ringing!) So I mentioned the assistant? Yes the waiter had an assistant and he treated him very unkindly and the assistant had a sad look on his face the whole night. During our time the assistant brought out the main course and started to sit down my dish in front of my wife. The waiter rushed over to the table and admonished him and took the plates from him to “correct” the plate ownership. It was awkward and weird. All in all this was a very poor and expensive experience.
Carizzi D'AmuriIn life, the ability to understand and the degree of understanding, are the basis of knowledge. If you were not able to understand that the phone ringing in the kitchen was nothing else than the oven after finishing cooking, imagine if you understood everything else!

On vacation. Thiswas our last night in Palermo. Food was of excellent quality, properly seasoned. Delicious warm chocolate cake which required some extra time to prepare. The waiter told us this in advance. Food prices were reasonable. Highly recommended.

Fabulous food in a lovely environment. The staff were very knowledgeable and explained all the dishes well. Good value considering the high quality of the food. Probably the best dinner we had during our stay in Sicily.

+1This was the best restaurant in all of Palermo. We read the reviews and tried to find a menu but, couldn’t. We decided on the quality and amounts of reviews to wing it and give it a try. Oh my goodness…..it succeeded beyond my wildest taste buds. So many taste sensations. As a foodie and Michelin star enthusiast this was right there with so many we tried in NYC, Majorca, Norway and France. Just a sensational dinner from the wine to the lasagna to the fish to the desserts! Oh those desserts the cheesecake tastes like it’s a gift from the gods! No seriously I mean it! And the chocolate cake, warm, moist, gooey on the inside. RUN don’t walk!

This was a great spot and the manager or owner was a great host. Answered all the questions we had and suggested a great wine to pair. Would recommend! A bit of a higher end/fine dining experience.

One of the best dinners we've had at Palermo. Service is superb and food is delicious. Would come Back again if had the chance.

The food was top quality. Some folk may think it's a little on the high side but you get what you pay for. The only slight downside was that there was no beer available but that was outside the management's control and certainly didn't detract from the overall experience. The quality and presentation of the food is superb. The Sicilian cheesecake is to die for. A hidden jewel in the Kalsa neighbourhood!!

A great place with amazing staff and food. Can’t wait to go back. Language barriers (at least between english and Italian) are not an issue here.

The food was great, and service very friendly. Would recommend definitely!

What an incredibly charming place and wonderful evening we had here! In a quiet street but otherwise lively area, this elegant little restaurant was the perfect balance of fine-dining and casual, family run trattoria. The service was extremely warm, attentive, kind, striking (again!) a delightful balance between formal and casual. Food was delicious, interior design sophisticated yet warm. We will return anytime we are in Palermo and can highly recommend this little gem.

Typical Sicilian kitchen but developed to a new, much higher level. The black tagliatelle with mussels and quenelle was fantastic! All its fine tastes so well balanced. My second visit and I hope to return next time in Palermo.

The food I would describe as full of flavour and uncomplicated which was really good we were both really please with the different dishes my wife and I chose and shared their tastes as we usually do. There was a good wine list and the waiter/sommelier /owner described the wine we had chosen very well. The service was very friendly, personable and smiley absolutely at the pace of the guests which is what we wanted and would want in most restaurants. We booked because It had good write ups and it lived up to expectations.

First of all, the people who left negative reviews have absolutely no idea about food, period! I have a high understanding of culinary knowledge as i used to work in 5 star hotels and a one Michelin star restaurant. Speaking of Michelin star we went to one in Palermo and this place blew it out the water, the service was outstanding, food was simple and flavoursome the octopus was amazing, veal melted in your mouth and the hot chocolate cake with home made marmalade was out of this world, front of house genuine a d the knowledge about the food and drink was 10/10 cant bulls**t and bulls**ter these guy are old school and know their sh*t. After our dessert was served we were not pushed out the door asked us if we want to sit and chill for a bit but we asked for a cocktail and ask one of the brothers to surprise us and he certainly did. Want to say thank you again and wish we were staying longer as we would come dine here again. Thanks guys!
