A good experience, located in the historic center. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the chef was skilled, serving Sicilian dishes using quality ingredients. We really enjoyed the setting.

Family origins in Catania, Sicily. As Italian-Americans, we cook more traditionally and were desperately seeking TRUE, TRADITIONALLY made Pasta con Sarde (pasta with sardines as we can not get the true Sicilian ingredients at home). Found Carlo V and had a spectacular pasta con garden. Fantastic local wine, superb service-we are al fresco. Not rushed. Menu had a large, diverse selection of local cuisine. Daughter had pasta alla Norma (made with eggplant). Also superb. Absolutely don't miss this restaurant.

Great place! We all enjoyed our supper it was very good. People were friendly and very attentive. Price was very reasonable for the good food we had. A must for next time you’re in Palermo!

Don’t eat here!! We had booked with 50 % discount- and even that was too much to pay for the experience! The waiters didn’t care about anything. We had 4 different waiters. They could not tell us about the food or wine. They forgot to give us cutlery - when we asked for it, the reply was ‘wow’. They spilled wine on our phone and didn’t apologize (which would have been nice). The reply was ‘wow’. We asked for the beef medium rare - it was well done. Both the beef and the fish of the day was served with a not nice mashed potato. The bread was day old. The food was nothing like the photos (the salmon tartare and the tuna tartare). It was the worst - and most expensive - meal we had in our 14 days in Italy. They didn’t make the discount on the bill even though we told them when we came. Nobody asked us about the meal even though we didn’t finish it (both starters and mains) and therefore we didn’t tell them how bad it was. Only good thing was the the fries, the fried fish (octopus) and the wine. We ran as fast as we could.
