The food was memorable , they deserve a star !!!! The ambiance too . Next time we will be in Lyon I will come back to taste more wonderful plates made by this Chef You are eating in a Michelin star restaurant without breaking the bank .

Wonderful restaurant! We loved this charming restaurant located in part of a historic silk warehouse. We were warmly welcomed. The wines are really well curated with excellent offerings from Burgundy, Beaujolais (yes I know it's in Burgundy) and the Rhône. our butternut squash ravioli starter was sublime. my wife had a delicious seafood risotto with shrimp and scallops while my veal flank steak with fresh vegetables was excellent. we finished with a dessert wine from the Côtes de Jurançon. Truly a memorable evening.

A small, friendly restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and was a short way from the main tourist streets. But the food and the service were both excellent. I can’t recommend Carre Royal highly enough. We ate smoked salmon mousse and Ravioli to start, followed by veal and the Paella( which was outstanding). Dessert was equally as good. If you’re going to eat out in Lyon, book a table here!

Saturday night dinner out in the centre of Lyon with a friend. Picked this place from TripAdvisor as came recommended. Not disappointed. Had the feel of small personally run restaurant. The 'maitre d' looked after us very well and made some good wine suggestions. A simple menu but well cooked and presented. Good value for money. Would go back again if we were in Lyon

This is a great restaurant with superb food. The service is excellent and the stylish ambience is supported by the friendly, professional dining manager. Would recommend without hesitation.

Spent 2 weeks in France, ate at many fine places in Paris, Burgundy, the Loire Valley and a great Brasserie in Le Havre. This was the finest meal that I have had in many years. I had a veal dish 15 years ago in Paris, I still remember it- the veal that I had at Carre Royal may have been better. My daughter is a pescatarian, and found the food excellent. I went off the board with dessert and had a Chartreuse Vert ice cream - very interesting ! Lots of great places to eat in Lyon, but if I only had one chance at a another meal in Lyon, it would be here.

Food was amazing and service impeccable. We had a two-day stop in Lyon on a cruise and searched for just the right French restaurant with great reviews. This was a 15 minute Uber from where we were staying and worth the short drive! We had salmon appetizer and veal, and foie gras and seafood risotto. Paired with a 2014 Domaine des Perdrix Echezeau Grand Cru. The dinner was perfect. Poached pear and rice pudding for dessert was just the right amount of sweet and not overpowering. Leaving happy.

I would give the food 6 stars if possible, it was really exceptionally good without being pretentious. The wine list also caters for all tastes. If I lived in Lyon, I would eat here once a week.

Really loved the food here. I had the octopus as a starter followed by the veal and then a wonderful cherries dessert. Great wine by the glass suggestions. Highly recommend!

Very nice little restaurant with great food. When the restaurant was full, the service was not the fastest, but always very friendly. The atmosphere and food was great so we were having an excellent evening and highly recommend it.

The staff was very friendly and accommodated the fact that we spoke no French. The menu was not expansive, but that is typical of restaurants that want to focus on quality, not quantity as this one does. Our entrees and plats were superb. Especially nice was that we could order wines, very good ones, by the glass, so that over the course of our very fine meal, we could try three superb wines.

I ate my final dinner in Lyon at Carré Royal with my first love in Lyon. It was a very sad occasion but the quality of food and service made me forget the sorrow. The staff was very kind and accommodating especially to my lack of the French language. I will be visiting this restaurant if I visit Lyon in the future. Amazing drinks and presentation. <3

It was a very satisfying and delicious experience to dine at that restaurant. The value for money was excellent, so was the service. Interesting cuisine and very creative menu.

We were delighted in finding this restaurant, particularly on a Monday night when most places were closed. We got there a bit early and were seated immediately. We enjoyed cocktails, the cocktail "maison" was especially delicious. Service was attentive, and the room was spacious allowing us room to easily move in, out and around, and share conversation in private. The food was most excellent, beautifully plated and delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant.

So pleased I found this restaurant. The food was amazing. The service was great. The wine flowed! I was looked after very well. If (or rather 'when'), I come to Lyon again, I will make this a destination, for sure. Do go. You will be very pleased you did.

Carre Royal is a cozy and pleasant restaurant which offers excellent food. Particularly the service personnel is super nice and caring. Food is french european and delicious.

The food was delicious, beautifully presented. We found the menu interesting and the food combinations unusual and perfectly balanced. The fish dishes were particularly light and fresh, with delicate herbs. The ambience is peaceful, but quietly lively. The staff friendly and helpful. A wonderful dining experience !

This is a fun little place. It a has limited but sufficient menu of well prepared dishes with creative display. The server,who spoke fluent French and English, was both charming and helpful.

Very nice dishes, beautifully presented. The atmosphere is housely, the woman serving the dishes was very hospital. The prices are reasonably, price/quality wise, this is a very good place to eat.

We spent an overall very good time at the restaurant. The quality of food was relatively high. We thought, however, that it was too expensive for what was given us on the plates (both the produce and the quantities). For instance, the cheese platter in the menu comes with a hefty 4 or 5 euro supplement. I ordered this expecting to see a variety of cheeses. I only got three quite small slices that were good but not the types I would have expected for such a price (one cheese was a morbier which is one of the cheapest cheese you can find on the market)
