10/10We dined at this restaurant tonight. The food is absolutely amazing and delicious. All dishes are well prepared and presented. Duck in the Pond, Bitter Calamari, Ravioli, Rare Chicken and Pork with Hops Infusion…Desserts are very tasty too. Best part - it’s not pricey. The server is extremely helpful and friendly.

10/10Dining experience was amazing all around. We chose to go with the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings, and all food was incredibly well executed. Only complaint on the food & wine service was that the wine pairings were poured very small - this felt very stingy given the cost. More generous pours would have been appreciated. Only other disappointment came when we received the bill and were charged additionally for bread course and water - this was a surprise as typical experience with a tasting menu price is that it is "all inclusive", and thus felt misleading.

10/10'Must-Visit Restaurant' in Rome This restaurant strives to stay true to the essence of dining. From the booking process to the end of the course, the staff put their all into every aspect. The chefs possess both passion and skill, while the servers have the expertise and kindness to perfectly convey that passion. The quality of this restaurant certainly does not fall short of any 2-star establishments I've visited before. Thanks again for the perfect ending to our last night in Italy.

10/10I may be a couple of months late with this review, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share my wonderful experience. The folks here are truly amazing, and my visit was nothing short of delightful. Celebrating my 40th birthday in Rome last December, I wanted a unique and memorable experience, so I decided to book a dinner for my mom and me. The food was a true delight—I'm no food expert, but every bite was heavenly. We opted for the chef's selection, and it was the 7-course option, I believe (I apologize for not remembering the details). What I do remember is the exceptional staff, the incredible food, and the surprisingly affordable prices. Living in Los Angeles, I can confidently say that a similar experience here would easily cost three times as much. If you're hesitating, do yourself a favor and go for it. You won't regret it. To top it off, they surprised me with a small dessert featuring a candle—an absolutely adorable touch. And while tipping is optional, please consider doing so. They truly deserve every penny for their outstanding service.

10/10Celebrated New Year Eve 2024, everything wad perfect, but the menu and wine paring wasn’t balanced and seemed a little bit chaotic (mix of seafood and meat, different types of wine). Also the wine set was disorganized: less wine in the beginning and a lot of glasses in the last part of dinner. But we were happy to celebrate this evening there.

10/10My wife and I were surprised at the level of the quality and complexity of the dishes for the price of the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Excellent meal and one that we will remember! Will be back again next time we are in Rome!

10/10Food and presentation was really good and delicious. We took the 7 course menu with wine pairing! The best dish was carrots carrots carrots! The only negative was that it took 3.5 hours to finish our dinner which is too long in my opinion! Sometimes we waited like 30 minutes or more for next dish.

9.5/10we had an amazing experience at Carter Oblio. I would highly suggest the tasting menu, with a wine pairing. I feel that if you are going to a Michelin Star restaurant, you want to taste as much of the food as possible. we did the 5 course tasting. the pace of the presentations was spot on. there was no rushing. the food was extremely tasty and very well presented. Definitely opt for the Carrots, Carrots, Carrots. the flavour that came from this simple vegetable was unbelievable. i really only have a basic wine knowledge, so opting for the wine paring was the best choice. the service was good, friendly and informative. while i always intended to eat at a Michelin Star restaurant, i had not come across any that were in what i would consider my price range. this was an extremely good value at 60 euro per person plus 30 euro wine pairing for me. again, a great experience and great food. did i mention the carrots?

5.5/10The best thing about this restaurant was the music and the wine. There were some good dishes but mostly the food missed terrible. The pizza ravioli, egg and candied pasta all fell well short of expectations leadings to a very disappointing meal. You could do far better in Rome with little effort.

9/10Carter Oblio has a lovely, well-considered atmosphere, with thoughtfully-filled bookshelves, UK alt rock in the background, and a friendly staff. I had the seven-course tasting menu, which was excellent, creatively combining many regional Italian traditions with international elements. The crowd is younger than at the handful of other, similar-caliber restaurants I tried in Rome, and a little more diverse.

10/10My wife and I ordered the 5 course tasting menu and it was creative, satisfying, but not at all over the top. Still, with dishes like “carrots carrots carrots,” “duck in a pond” (which was actually a soup designed to simulate a pond), as well as pasta that has been shaped like a wrapped hard-candy, the chef clearly embraces a certain level of silliness. It’s great to have top-notch food that just doesn’t take itself too seriously. The staff were attentive, spoke great English and were very accommodating. We brought along our four-year old daughter and they made her some penne at a very reasonable price. My wife and I only treat ourselves to meals in this price range very occasionally and this was without a doubt a great place to spend the money. The value for what you pay is outstanding. Definitely try this place out for something unforgettable.

10/10By far my favourite restaurant in the whole of Rome. Great and bold seasonal flavours in every dish, created by an outspoken chef and an out-of-this world artisanal bread select to accompany the courses. This restaurant is the living proof that the Michelin guide is crooked. If Pipero has one Michelin star, Carter Oblio should at least have two.

5.5/10Simple preparation dishes with no punch with the taste. Not all dishes, but 2 out of 4 is bad. I didn't try the 5th dish, which is a dessert. Paid and left. My 1st time leaving a Michelin recommended restaurant without finishing the entire course. Very disappointing. The services provided were top class, though.

7.5/10Service was wonderful and extremely attentive, but we must have been awfully unlucky with the food, as one pasta was cold and far too al dente, while the deer was overcooked. Fish had a nice thai inspired taste and texture, but seems as if things were not fulky coordinated. The carrot x 3 was indeed excellent, but it is not easy to wholeheartedly recommmend. Worth a try? Yes, with the above caveats.
