After reading a couple of poor reviews but several good ones, we decided to take a chance. The person taking our order kept trying to upsell us on food, which I did try a couple of items she suggested. The person who was in charge of pouring the wine, was so rude and had a scowl on her face the entire night, and made us feel unwelcomed. When the food came, the fried artichokes were dripping in oil, and the oil tasted old. The cod in red sauce was very oily, however it did taste fresh. When I paid the bill, they had the nerve to ask for a tip...I was shocked. She said it was for the service. I felt like they cheated me. I cannot, in good faith, give this restaurant a positive review.

The vibe of the neighborhood complimented the meal like I’ve never experienced! Great service and wonderful food one expects to have in an older Roman restaurant. Did not disappoint!

This is literally the best meal we had in the few days we were in Rome. Authentic Jewish Roman food and the friendliest restauranteur, Esther. Highly recommend.

Food is so good, everything on the list but especially ravioli in truffle sauce - basically travelled to Rome because of this dish! Homemade desserts are delicious. Staff is friendly, attentive and relaxed. Will come again and again!

The mother and daughter team running the restaurant were charming. Old family recipes.

There was no salt at all That is nowhere! Except for the bill, which was “SALATO” indeed. Salato ( Italian translation:salty, but also expensive!)

Service was great and the food was awesome! Get the ricotta and sour cherry pie for dessert if they have it. One of the best desserts I’ve ever had!

We ordered some starters to share and two first dishes. The starters were good, even if probably the food had been cooked before and just re-cooked a little bit to make it hot. They mistaken my first dish and when they brought the right one it was not ready at all (the pasta was raw while my tomatoes in the sauce where too hot. The location was centric but the place was not that good, especially because we perceived it was not very clean. I appreciated that the waiters were kind, even if maybe not that professional and prepared..

Wonderful family-owned restaurant. The food was excellent and the owners were welcoming and warm. We especially enjoyed the catch of the day - fresh sea bass - and the homemade pastas.

Great food, great service, fantastic hosts. Highly recommended! Casalino cod was absolutely delicious and cacio e pepe was a real cacio e pepe (lots of pepe!!)

restaurant run by a rather rowdy family, they were arguing amongst themselves in front of us and other customers, not very professional.

Very familiar restaurant, with great food and the staff amazing. In the Jewish neighborhood, you have to try it. Only opens for dinner after 21h. The wait is worth it.

The area is one of the most looked-for in the heart of Rome. True, it looks like a typical tourists attraction, but an authentic Roman touch is still tangible and vivid. The service was kind and affable, although a few wines on the list were actually missing and waiting time is a bit overstretched. Food is OK, nothing to die for BUT prices are very reasonable. Overall value for money, including the chat with the young owner, is commendable.

The service was not great cause we had to wait a lot to order and to get the bill, even if the restaurant was full. The dishes were good.

Meal's delivered not at once. After 3 min raw tuna took for more cooking. Potatos to fat. Hat to remain about Fork's discount.

Found this little gem for Xmas dinner. Lots of good choices on the menu. Food and service were excellent. Owner was charming and took us downstairs after our wonderful meal to show us the ancient Roman well in their cantina. Highly recommended.

50/50 The staff are great!!! We were there on a busy afternoon. Waited 15 minutes before we could order. The staff was surprised that nobody had taken our order yet, but quickly gave us the attention that we needed. The artichokes were dry and mealy, not at all what we had expected. The fried mozzarella was nice, as well as the fresh Cacio e pepe. The Salmon w/honey & almond glaze was 100% microwaved, and finished under a broiler. I am certain of this, the salmon was completely overdone and steaming. All this being said, I’d like to go back again to give them another chance. The staff was great, and maybe we caught them on an off moment.
