Unique location in a wine cellar. Host /server/ owner? :) was very sweet. Food was excellent! Had a tagliatelle “pistou” that was better than in Italy.

Very warm welcome. Pasta is home made daily and delicious. This restaurant exists with the same owners / chef for 44 years…This says it all. I will be returning!

Great food and wine, unique ambient, lovely deserts. Pumpkin ravioli was the dish of the day and it was amazing.

Small restaurant in an old cellar. Our party loved the ambiance. Very authentic and relaxed. Food was great. Server was very friendly.

Our mushroom soup was incredible. Delicious meal, very unique find.

+1What an amazing meal. A great experience overall. The restaurant is off the beaten path and not touristy at all. I had duck Magret and my husband had lamb. The presentation was amazing and the taste superb. Run, don’t walk and try this restaurant.

Very cool underground cave atmosphere only surpassed by a wonderful hostess/waitress/owner! Nina was not great with English, BUT she communicated very well with her personality and graciousness. Then the food - wow! Burrata was delivered on an artistic board with veggies and an edible bowl that was beautiful. My Saltimbocca was very good, but the star of the night was the tagliatelle in a spicy curry cream sauce with pieces of chicken breast that was to die for - fresh homemade pasta with flavors out of this world! A definite must when in Aix!

I recently dined at this restaurant and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. The fish tartare had a strong, unpleasant fishy smell and taste, indicating that the fish was not fresh. The beef tartare was equally disappointing, lacking any discernible flavor or seasoning. Overall, the dishes were a complete letdown and I would not recommend this restaurante.

There are too many great things to mention about this restaurant in a short review. The entire experience was wonderful. It was a perfect escape from the heat with a beautiful interior. A lovely, peaceful dinner complete with incredible food. Everything was so fresh, and we could hear the meringue being made for our dessert! The host was sweet as can be.

We had a lovely dinner at Chez Nine - the food was truly exceptional (particularly the lamb) and the waitress was very nice and attentive. The setting is cosy and nicely tucked away from the tourist spots. It feels like a family run restaurant, and has a unique charm.

Food was very good. I ordered a pastis that never arrived (and wasn’t charged for) and a different veal dish than the one I got. Aside from those two miscues, the food and the ambiance were quite good and the meal was a good value.

Off the beaten trail, in a cave, lovely hostess/waitress who put up with our inability to communicate in French. Pastas were fantastic.

We had a wonderful meal so fresh gnocchi with cream sauce and mushrooms. Also the steak was fantastic. We loved that it was a husband and wife they were so kind and amazing service. You must go if you are in AOP.

We ordered the burrata, goat cheese cromesquis, and mushroom risotto to share for appetizers. For main dishes we tried the veal saltimbocca and a haddock in a light butter sauce and finished with the sorbet. Everything was delicious! The ambience was lovely, as was the staff. Their English is limited but they were patient with us. Everything was fresh and the attention to detail was evident.

The space at Chez Nine is really delightful and the service was lovely- we don’t speak much French and our server didn’t speak much English, but she was so patient and kind to us! Our meal was lovely and dining in the little underground cave will be an excellent memory!

This quaint little bistro is a true gem - the owner of 43 years (!!) is also the sole server and gives the whole place a ‘Motherly’ touch. The quality of the food was exceptional - and you must try to the tiramisu! Best we have ever had!

Chez Nine is our favorite restaurant in Aix! The owner welcomes, serves and talks with the customers, and an excellent chef prepares the food. Our personal favorites are the gnocchi and the ravioli. Starters are delicious also, and the bread is fresh and perfect. We love this place!

Curious as to what was at the end of the little road, we found a Space Invader and this hidden gem under the street level. It has a very warm and charming interior, the host is a delight, the menu inventive and atypical and the food was yummy. We’ve been in Aix for 7 of 14 days and our meal here was the best so far. We shared the artichokes and ravioli w/gorgonzola and tomato sauce, 3 glasses of wine, tiramisu and two coffees. The bill was 65e. Great location off Cours Sextius,

A wonderful small quaint restaurant where mom is the host and server and pops is the chef. The food is delicious and fresh. We had such a delightful evening. The restaurant is downstairs in a charming romantic hideaway. What a gem!

We enjoyed our experience the first time so much that we returned for a second time at Chez Nine.

Really cool spot - in the middle of the old town but tucked away on a side street. Felt like we found a hidden gem. The pasta is made in house and delicious

Great ambiance, the fresh taste of the food shines through from entrees to dessert.

The resto smelled of wet dog so it was hard to enjoy anything, as it permeated everything. Never have a been so jealous of the smokers who at least had something else to smell. The food was heavy and giant portions and ok, quality wise. The local wine was good. The hostess/waitress was extremely warm and friendly.

Small but not cramped, classic cellar with vaulted ceiling built of limestone. Good wine selection, though I took my server’s advice and tried the house wine which was inexpensive and good. Very friendly, attentive but not hovering service. The food was delicious, perfectly portioned, and the chef’s own bread was perfect for enjoying the sauces.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The entrance is in an alleyway, but once you go down the stairs it's a cozy cave like restaurant. The personnel is super friendly and the food absolutely delicious! Strongly recommend!

Service was great, the lady was really nice and polite and the discount was as described on the app. I will totally come back

What an amazing find although I would describe it as more Italian than French. My wife had an incredible curry pasta while I had veal which was amazing. Goat cheese toast was unique and different than anything I’ve had elsewhere. Wine was good but inexpensive. Can’t recommend highly enough...
