Lovely restaurant with exceptional staff. Great choice of food, with the dishes we had all being delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant to you if you are visiting Faro.

The location of this restaurant, inside the old walled city in Faro, is wonderful. Just a short and pleasant stroll from the centre of town. The restaurant is nicely decorated and furnished with great quality toilets - all beautifully clean. The food is great - local dishes, all beautifully presented and dining here is a real experience! The do-it-yourself steak with a super-heated rock to cook it on at the table is wonderful. Seafood and fish is equally good, with the surf-n-turf being a real experience. Starters can be had as ‘tapas’ with a good variety available: beware - they are larger than you might expect. Three starters could make a small meal for two …… Wines offered are a good variety and we didn’t find one that we didn’t like 😁 Thoroughly recommend this place, we will visit again when next here. We went three times during our week in Faro. The waiter and waitress were absolutely excellent and really made it a superb experience.

This was one of the best meals of my life. The food was amazing! I had the monkfish with bacon and prawns. Everyone in our party ordered something different and were equally impressed with their food. The service was impeccable and it was all reasonably priced, 50 euros per person which included two bottles of wine. I’m going to remember this for a long time.

The food was by far the best we have had in Faro and the setting (cathedral close) and ambience (echoing guitar accompaniment) was divine.

Beautiful location in the old town, right next to Faro’s cathedral. Warm welcome and clear explanations of local dishes. The food was delicious and the service attentive and friendly, even on a fully booked night. Fair prices for the quality, service, and the unique setting. We’ll definitely return on our next trip to the Algarve

The restaurant is situated in the old town which is beautiful. The staff are friendly and really want you to enjoy the food and the experience of eating at their restaurant. The food is so well cooked, tastes and looks lovely. Had squid one night and pork cheeks another. All really tender a d just delicious. Can't wait for our next visit to Faro to go back. Definitely recommended.

Food was beautiful, service and staff even better. They could not do enough for us, super friendly especially with our two little ones. Highly impressed and would return if in the area. Really beautiful location for dinner.

Excellent food and great service. We sat outside and it was lovely. Unfortunately there was a major event at the church nearby and the street immediately in front of the restaurant just filled with cars vying for spots parking and aggressively parking. Some very close to the tables on the sidewalk. Took away from the ambiance but this was clearly not the restaurant’s fault. We will try again before we leave Faro.

Everything was exceptional. We both had the seabream which was done to perfection. Served with potatoes and a tomato onion cucumber salsa with garlic dressing. Yum. Bits of granular salt added a nice surprise every so often. Light and slightly crispy and delicious. Should have ordered the side veggies to go with it but instead shared the quinoa salad. Yum.

We had been in their rooftop bar a couple of days earlier and decided on the strength of seeing some bar snacks taken out that we should try the restaurant downstairs.Beautiful Portuguese food served in an imaginary way

Amazing food and staff. Friendly and efficient service. Very attentive, polite and took the time to explain the items on the menu to us in detail. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely a must visit when in Faro. Well done. Especially the gentleman in glasses who seemed to be the person in charge. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. Job well done.

This was our second visit to Cidade Velha and it didn’t disappoint. Food and service excellent and the setting is delightful!

Diner was great. Servers were prompt and polite. Food was quite good. I had the lamb shank, my wife had the piri piri chicken.(although she said the chicken at Costa Algarve was better) still it was a good night.
