9.5/10One of our best meals in Sicily this week. Attentive and thoughtful service. Really tasty food and a good bottle of wine which was recommended to us. Highly recommended.

9.5/10Service is friendly & attentive. Thorough knowledge of the local Sicilian wines offered was clearly evident and accessible. No pressure upselling, just great guidance. Clean, beautiful raw fish dishes. Seared tuna secondi is fantastic. Parmesan Crisp dolce is a revelation. Clandestino ad Ortigèèiaèedelivers.

10/10Great atmosphere with a calm, relaxing vibe. The food was very well prepared and offered a few twists on traditional Sicilian dishes that we enjoyed very much. The service was attentive, friendly and balanced, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy our wine and delicious meal without being rushed.

10/10Excellent food in a nice atmosphere with good, friendly service. The ink fish pasta dish was superb, and the main dish of a seared tuna on a bed of lettuce, through presented lukewarm, was very tasty. The wine list is elaborate. A very pleasant evening indeed.

9.5/10This was by far the best meal we had during our week long trip to Sicily. In fact the meal was faultless and the wine to accompany it excellent too. Just wish this restaurant was in England as i would be a regular visitor if it was.

10/10Excellent food & service, the staff were friendly & helpful. We started with the panelle which were light & fluffy! We both had fritto misto for our main the seafood was in a lovely light batter & after a rest we had desserts , one tiramisu and one lemon delight! Fantastic!

The restaurant is definitely on the expensive side, but with the incredible discounts, the final price becomes quite reasonable. The food was tasty, with a variety of well-prepared dishes, but what really stood out was the service. The staff was super attentive and incredibly helpful throughout the meal, making sure we had everything we needed.

10/10The staff were so welcoming and very helpful with their knowledge of local wines. We had the degustation menu and the food was delicious. Great service and a beautiful setting added to a highly enjoyable and memorable evening. I would highly recommend Clandestino as Ortigia.

3/10Entered to an empty restaurant. We were not greeted but had to approach someone who was seated behind the bar. Spoken English was a problem straight away. I would have been better in Italian. I had already stated on the app I wanted the tasting menu. This described 7 dishes. The 7 dishes were served as two plates of food. We were very disappointed at the amount of food for 70 euro. It was the appetisers for the other tasting menus, and not what I had copied from the website. The food itself was ok, the only real high point of the 7 was the prawn the rest was just ordinary. We were asked did we want a moment. We expected a primi platte but got dessert menus. It was pointless arguing it was lost in translation. Service had not been great but it nose dived when a party of 12 arrived. We waited for dessert, then we were told they had run out of what we had chosen in so chose again. The desserts were bland. So disappointed, this was our ‘big night out’ and I feel ripped off and hungry.

8.5/10The food was good, however it was rushed , and when asked to slow down the final course was very late. It was a hot evening and there was no provision for the heat. I would expect a 1 star to have misters if the only choice is to sit outdoors. It was too warm to enjoy a long dinner

10/10The restaurant was recommended by our tour guide. We made reservations a half hour before we wanted to eat. The wait staff were very welcoming and helpful. The chef provided a special small plate for an appetizer which was excellent and a very thoughtful thing to do. All of the food was excellent. My first choice for my main course was an excellent choice per our waiter, however, I was told that because the sardines were not fresh, the chef would not prepare that dish that evening. The waiter was patient with me as I figured out what my second choice was going to be. Thankfully, the wait staff spoke and understood English very well. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
