Great Traditional Italian

I'm not sure if it's because of the holiday, but the dishes weren't particularly good value for money. The flavours had an Italian style, though the standard was average.

We operate in Nice, where costs are high, and we choose to work with quality ingredients, whose prices unfortunately continue to rise. We nevertheless remain attentive to maintaining a fair balance between quality, experience, and pricing, and we appreciate your comment.

Davisto in Nice was open on December 25th, which made it an easy choice for a family dinner. The room is warm and nicely decorated, with a vibe that reminded me of San Sebastián. We ordered spaghetti vongole, poulpe, and carbonara — all well prepared and tasty. The Negroni was particularly good, and the homemade lemon pie was generous and fresh. Service was attentive and pleasant throughout.

The Chef in this small neighborhood gem creates both delicious dishes and a warm welcoming experience as if you are a regular even the first time. My wife enjoyed the white truffle risotto, declaring it one of the best she has had. Beyond the tasty food a nice and approachable wine list by the glass or bottle allowed us to pair our dishes perfectly. Highly recommend and reasonably priced.

We went to this restaurant when it was located eight years ago across the street. I remember the food being very delicious. However, this time it seemed to have lacked a few things as to its quality. Overall, it was a good meal with decent service.

Our last night in Nice we chose Davisto for our dinner. The food and wine were excellent! Service was outstanding as well.

The boy who served us was nice but the food was undewhelming. Octopus was good but the Veal with tuna sauce tasted of a tuna sandwich. The pizza sauce lacked key ingredients tasting almost as if they used canned/jar sauce from supermarket. The pasta was swimming in a pool of oil/water. Not very pleasant

Le vitello tonnato que nous proposons respecte la recette traditionnelle piémontaise, avec une sauce à base de thon, câpres et anchois — ce n’est pas un “sandwich au thon”, mais un plat emblématique de la cuisine italienne. Concernant notre pinsa, aucune sauce industrielle n’est utilisée : tout est préparé maison avec des ingrédients frais, comme toujours dans notre cuisine. Enfin, certaines pâtes issues de régions comme le Piémont ou le sud de l’Italie peuvent sembler plus “huilées”, mais cela fait partie du style culinaire de ces territoires. Nous sommes néanmoins ravis que vous ayez apprécié le poulpe et l’amabilité du service.

Upon arrival we were welcomed and taken to a lovely table for 2. Our server was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. When explaining the specials I mentioned that I was gluten free and the chef came out to go through the menu for me. This has only happened once before during my years as gluten free so I was very impressed. My husband had the pork special and I had the beef. Both were delicious and the serves were large. Unfortunately we were so full we couldn't fit dessert in :-)

Good food, service and ambience of restaurant. Found this neighborhood gem when we were in Nice in February and couldn't wait to return on our next trip back. Has become a family favorite.

The food was delicious. The tarte au citron a la italienne was absolutely stunning lemon delight. Enjoyed speaking to the chef about this. The eggplant appetizer was perfect also. Very happy to have dined there

We recently spent 6 weeks in Nice and have gone to Davisto at least six times. It quickly became our favorite restaurant due to the service the ambience and the great food. We even took other people there on multiple visits and it never disappointed. If there are things that need to be modified in the dish they're more than eager to remove any ingredients that you may not like or add something additional. Highly highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back the next time return to Nice.

The meat was very oily and smelly. The pasta was not cooked to the right degree.

La viande Black Angus est appréciée pour son persillage, ces fines veines de gras qui assurent tendreté et saveur. C’est une qualité, pas un défaut. Nos pâtes sont cuites al dente, selon la vraie tradition italienne, comme dans tout restaurant italien authentique. Enfin, votre critique sur le service nous étonne, car vous avez exprimé votre satisfaction, terminé vos plats et laissé un pourboire. Nous vous conseillons donc d’éviter, à l’avenir, de chercher de “vrais restaurants italiens”, car cela ne semble pas être ce qui vous convient. Cordialement, La Direction

Travelling with 3 people of Italian heritage means a stop at an italian restaurant if we can find one that is good. Davisto is not only good but great! There was a cute Amuse Busce on the table right away, followed by a terrific Chianti and 2 entres - eggplant parm the way mom makes it, and the Davisto salad - greens, heirloom tomatoes, olives, fresh homemade mozzerella and toped with a great proscuitto. Mains were Grilled branzino fillets, spaghetti vongole, and spaghetti Scoglio - little clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp topped with a large scampi! Wonderful! Desserts were Affagoto Caffe, and pisthachio ice cream, finished with a round of chilled Lemoncello. A very pleasant night!

We left with mixed feelings. The carbonara pasta was perfect. I never ate so tasty pasta. However, the pizza was not the best. Tuna on it was not fresh, maybe it was from cannes tuna. The waiters were very friendly and nice.

Regarding tuna pizza, we would like to point out that throughout the world it is traditionally prepared using canned tuna, which is considered a common and appreciated ingredient for this type of pizza. . Nous sommes heureux que vous ayez apprécié nos pâtes carbonara et le service amical de nos serveurs. Concernant la pizza au thon, nous tenons à souligner que dans le monde entier, elle est traditionnellement préparée à partir de thon en conserve, considéré comme un ingrédient courant et apprécié pour ce type de pizza.

A very nice Italian restaurant, where you will have artistic decorations, charming intimacy and good food. The service is superb, the restaurant staff are very professional and will make you feel cozy and relaxed. Definitely a place to be in Nice.

Found this restaurant on The Fork as it would be difficult to find-it’s a little gem with a good varied menu, mainly based around Italian food but excellent meal with good service, will return on our next trip to Nice

Loved my meal at this charming restaurant! The servers were charming and attentive without being obtrusive. A nice variety of dished on their full menu as well as a robust list of specials for the day on their tableside chalkboard menu. The chef made a point of coming out from the kitchen to visit the tables and make sure that diners were enjoying their meal. Absolutely save room for their lemon torta dessert- it's a very generous portion and absolutely delicious!

I chose this Italian restaurant because it offered speciality Italian dishes beyond pizza and it was great., just what I hoped for. My daughter had the rigatoni with basil, tomato and veal pieces. That was delicious. I enjoyed the spaghetti fruit de mare which had a lot of seafood and delicious sauce - not the usual thin marinara sauce either. The service was excellent with the waiter making great wine choices and helping with menu. The restaurant was kinda warm otherwise I would have given the atmosphere 5 stars as well.

We booked on the 30% off deal, although 23 euros for fish of the day was pretty good value to start with. There two good sized fillets which were very fresh. Got quite busy by the time we left. I suppose the only thing it would be nice to eat outside in the summer months which you can’t do here. Think we will return though as food very good!
