Good reliable Dutch food. Friendly personnel. In a busy tourist area, every restaurant is competing for tourist tastebuds. A shame that the interior dull, not well lit and that the hard wooden seats were so uncomfortable. I presume that this is the business model, i.e., turnaround tables fast and don't encourage people to stay and really enjoy the reason they came, to taste typical Dutch cuisine!

Was the second time there and it was so good both times. Every vacation in Amsterdam is a must have for me to eat in De Blauwe Hollander. I ate the Stampott Hotspot with mashed potatoes with onions and carrots, grease, and tender beef. Sooo good

The 1st time i was at the Blauwe Hollander was 1979, & although it is way bigger now , I still enjoy coming back . Food is still great & is still heel gezellig

The restaurant was warm and inviting on a cold night. The staff was friendly and helpful and made great suggestions for foreigners not from Holland. We all had local beers and different Stampots, and all were delicious! Highly recommend!

We were seated quickly and that was the fastest thing that happened. We sat for about 20 minutes before we were asked about drinks or appetizers, and the server seemed disinterested and annoyed by our existence 😂 appetizers took another 30 minutes to come out, and then the server didn't return for almost an hour. We did not order more food.

The food and the location of the restaurant was great. The staff was a bit short with us and I was a bit bothered by her lack of information regarding ingredients of the food, but she was friendly and professional otherwise. I would always go again

We made reservations easily online and walked over after touring the Van Gogh Museum. We arrived 35 minutes early but they seated us right away. We had a leisurely and delightful meal with Dutch food. It was a little loud due to some large groups and the desserts were a little dry but it was a great experience.

They did not have our booking. Very warm in there. The tables were situated very close together. I Ordered the beef stampott which was tough and gristly. The actual mash was very good and creamy. The gravy was tasty. I Explained about the beef to which I got no response.

The stuff were friendly. The food however was very fatty so I didn’t enjoy it. It all said it came with a side of vegetables but didn’t. The apple pie however was very tasty.
